The pups walked across the surface of Dulles International, following the signal that was coming of Cadpig; Lucky and Patch never took their eyes off of Dipsticks collar hoping the signal will become stronger. Everyone was staying close to each other, apart from Clayton and Doc who were not far behind the rest. “Do you regret bringing Dipstick now?” Clayton whispered to Doc, Doc shrugged “Bringing Dipstick was alright, I’m just a bit disappointed that Lucky has decided to take over the group.” Clayton sighed “You’ll get use to Lucky being in charge, 97 of us already have.”
The pups continued to walk along the air field until they got to some bushes, they climbed through them and when they got to the other side they found a long line if Cars, Buses, Vans, anything that had four wheels and a engine in it “We’re in the pick up area.” Lucky told the others “We can catch a ride here.”
The pups walked up the sidewalk not getting noticed by any member of the crowd, the stopped when they saw a bus, whose destination was “Hay Adams Hotel”, “How far away is that from the White House?” Lucky asked Doc “About one tenth of a mile.” Doc replied, Lucky nodded “Good enough, everyone in!” The pups walked to the back of the bus, they crept on through the rear door and hid underneath the seats, and soon enough the bus departed from the pick up area.
In the Prime Minister’s car; Cadpig was staring out of the window, her mind was worrying about the others, and how was she going to get back to them? She tried to open the lock but she couldn’t pull the switch out, she gave up hope and lay down on the seat next to the Prime Minister.
“It’s all utter nonsense.” Cadpig looked to her side; the Prime Minister was resting his face in his hands “I cannot understand why so many people voted for him? He never even had a policy.” He moved his hands from his face and then to Cadpig and rubbed her gently on the head “The world is a strange place, full of many different people, but out there are so many worlds and species and the leaders of the free world want to keep it secret, I’m not one of them but I’m just following orders from everyone else.” He gave a small chuckle “It’s amazing, you know when you get an interest in something and then you chase after it like mad; like you dogs and bones, people do just the same like that, always on to find more truth but when they get to the brink of finding it…” he lifted his hand off Cadpig and placed it on his lap “That’s just us Earthlings, a big bag of secrets.”
Cadpig tilted her head a tiny bit before slowly approaching the Prime Minister and placing her paw on his lap, the Prime Minister gave her a small smile, her tail slowly started to wag.
Nothing much happened on the bus; people mainly talked to each other about personal affairs or the football results (Today’s results, Washington Redskins beat Arizona Cardinals 21 to 19), things were just about as boring as listening to Doc for 2 hours.
An hour passed before the bus driver opened his side door and called out “Hay Adams Hotel.” People stood up and started to move towards the door “Now’s our chance go!” Lucky whispered to the others, they all crept towards the door and jumped down from the bus, no one even seemed to notice them; it was almost like if they were ghosts.
They walked around the streets of Washington looking at Dipstick’s collar hoping for a signal, at one point the signal was beeping faster than ever until it started to slow down again, turned out they walked past the White House and were now walking away from it. When they eventually turned around and got to the gates of the White House “How do we get in?” Kendra asked. Lucky and Patch looked at the building, security was tight; there were snipers on every roof top, Patch just said “I guess we’ll have to do it the way Thunderbolt does when he’s trying to hide from fans.” and that was what they did, the climbed through the gaps in the fence and went; sneak, sneak, hide, sneak, sneak, hide, sneak, sneak, hide across the garden. When they eventually got to the building, they walked closely around it until they got to a vent shaft “Do we go in this way?” Clayton asked Lucky, “Surely there must be a better way.” He repeated Lucky’s words from the plane trying to turn them into irony, Lucky replied sarcastically “Alright then.” He said “Why not we walk up to the front door, ring the door bell and when they open up we say “Hello! Come and get us!” ” Clayton sighed, Fidget started twitching “I, I, I got a bad feeling about this.” He said before everyone climbed and fell down the shaft.
Henry Nosax led the Prime Minister to one of the guest bedrooms in the White House “This is where you’ll stay before the conference sir.” He said opening the door like if he was a bell boy, he gave a smile before looking at what the Prime Minister was carrying under his arm. “I see you got a dog.” He said looking at Cadpig “Dalmatian; fine breed, got one myself.” He gave a whistle and on cue a adult Dalmatian with green eyes walked up next to Nosax and stood there “My dog; Sirius. Isn’t he sweet. Sirius, this is the Prime Minister of Great Britain.”
Sirius looked at the Prime Minister before he looked at under the Prime Minister’s arms and saw Cadpig, his eyes widened.
“I’m sure you must be very tired Mr. Prime Minister.” Henry Nosax said “I just leave you be. Come on Sirius.” He walked off with Sirius and walked around the corner. The Prime Minister watched him walk away before entering his room and closing the door.
Around the corner, Sirius had jumped up on Henry and was holding him by the shirt collar. “I know that pup!” Sirius shouted into Nosax’s face “And she knows me, not now but in her adulthood. At this moment on our plan is in jeopardy.” He jumped down from the human and started to panic.
“Sirius!” Henry said trying to comfort the dog. “She’s only one pup and with only three and a half hours to go, I doubt she’ll be able to stop us. Sirius’s breathing started to grow calmer “You sure?” he asked, Henry nodded “I’m pretty sure.”
Sirius rubbed his forehead before looking up at Nosax “Come on.” He ordered “We got to get the machine onboard before midnight.” The two looked each other before walking down the corridor.
Patch kicked the vent open and climbed out, followed by Lucky, Doc, Dipstick, Kendra, Wizzer, Fidget and Clayton. “Alright.” Lucky started “Dipstick, Fidget and Clayton; go down that corridor and see if you can find Nosax. Wizzer you go to the Oval room to see if he’s in there. I, Patch, Doc and Kendra will continue to follow Dipstick’s collar and see if that’ll work. Are we clear?” The pups nodded. Clayton’s group walked down the corridor, Lucky’s group followed the signal off Dipstick’s collar and the ones left were Kendra and Wizzer, “Sure you don’t need any help?” Kendra asked Wizzer who was looking rather nervous, “Me?” Wizzer laughed “No. Infiltration and investigation? I’m a expert.” He walked off down a hallway, Kendra gave a small giggle before Wizzer turned around walked back to Kendra and asked “Where’s the Oval room?” Kendra pointed the way out “Go up the stairs one floor walk to the right side and take the first left.” Wizzer nodded “I knew that.” He said before running to the stair case, Kendra chuckled before following Lucky, Patch and Doc.
In the corridor; Clayton, Dipstick and Fidget walked up and down it, hoping to find something that might give them any help in what they were doing, the trio continued to search until got to a small square room that was absolutely empty. “We must keep looking.” Clayton said to the others. “But Clayton…” Dipstick started to moan “We’ve been up and down every single corridor of this building and have had no luck.” Clayton didn’t pay much attention to what Dipstick thought “There’s got to be something around here. Dipstick, can you stop arguing and help me find some sort of secret switch or something.” Dipstick stood where he was “I don’t think there’s anything here.” Fidget started to scratch himself “I t, t, t, think that Dipstick’s right, C, Clayton. W, W, We’ve had no luck everywhere else, W, Why do you think we’ll have l, l, luck here?” Clayton looked at the two “You guys are typical.” He said rolling his eyes. Fidget continued to scratch until he lost balance and fell over, his face smacked against one of the panels on the wall but this one didn’t stay where it was, it pushed into the wall and with a sudden clank the walls flew open. Clayton looked at the gap in the wall and then back to Fidget, he ran up to the twitchy pup and gave him a hug “Fidget, You’re a genius!” he turned back to the wall and started to run towards the hole in the wall, Dipstick and Fidget followed him. They walked down a dark cob webby corridor until they got to what bared the shape to the outside of a phone box. “Well come on.” Clayton said to the others “Let’s look in.” the 3 walked up to the box before opening the door and taking a look inside. “Oh my Gosh!” Clayton gasped when he looked through the doors. “Doc had got to see this.”
Wizzer looked around; he was hoping that he hadn’t lost his way. He looked through each door he passed as he looked up the corridors; some contents of the rooms were stuff he didn’t want to see again. He eventually got to what he hoped was the Oval room. No one was inside, he ran to the desk and jumped up on the chair, he pulled open the drawers and searched the contents of each of them; nothing much was in there, some papers, a mobile phone and some sort of tube, Wizzer held this tube in his hand “I wonder if Doc will find this interesting.”
He heard a noise; someone was turning the door knob and entering the room, Wizzer panicked; he dropped the tube and ducked to underneath the desk.
Henry Nosax and an adult dog strolled into the room. They remained silent for a couple of seconds before the dog gave 4 taps on the table and repeated it 4 times, a metallic sphere appeared into the room, “Is it ready?” it asked with a sweet voice, Sirius nodded “It is. In 3 hours the whole world will be watching you. No more sights, no more dark, no more cold. This shall be your Utopia.”
Wizzer jerked his ears up “What?” he whispered to himself, “Those are the those Engelador, what connection do they have with the Presidents dog?” The sphere started to talk in an alarmed manner, “There’s a small child canine specimen in here, I love those child dogs!” Sirius smirked “Well what are you waiting for? Get it!”
Wizzer stood scared; they knew he was there, he felt so scared he made a wet puddle on the floor before running out the room with one of the spheres right behind him. “Go on!” Sirius called after Wizzer “Run spotty. RUN!”
Cadpig laid on top the bed, she watched the Prime Minister in the bathroom rubbing his face with a flannel “Being on a plane of 8 hours sure dehydrates you.” He said to Cadpig “Maybe I should go and get some ice.” He walked over to the table next to the bed, picked up the ice bucket and left the room.
As soon as he left the room “Pssst, Cadpig.” Cadpig looked to the door, Lucky, Patch, Doc and Kendra had followed Dipsticks collar and had found Cadpig “You alright Cadpig?” Patch asked, Cadpig nodded “Of course, I’ve just met a most interesting man.” Doc nodded “That’s great Cadpig. But right now we’ve got to find out what Nosax is up to.”
At this moment Clayton, Dipstick and Fidget came running through the door “Guys!” Clayton said breathing for air “I think me, Dipstick, and Fidget have found something.” The pups ran out the room following Clayton, Dipstick and Fidget to what they found.
When they stepped through the doors of Clayton’s discovery Kendra gasped “What the heck is that?” The room was pure red light, wires and cable were scattered around everywhere and in the centre, there was a metallic column with large pipes sticking out of it. “No.” Doc gasped “No, It can’t be.” Lucky looked at Doc confused “What is it Doc?” he asked. Doc ran around the column still in deep shock “It’s a Paradox Machine!”
