“I took those willing back to my planet.” Sirius told Doc “I took them so they can be safe, safe from such human errors as war. You should have seen my planet, the sky was burnt with amber, rivers ran like silver and mountains that went on forever, covered with deep red grass and forever falling snow.”
“It was beautiful.” [/b] The face told the resistance “As if the sky was made of gems.” [/b]
“But then The Kre'Iax came.” Sirius closed his eyes “They raged war on us, out of the blue, killed so many of us. Those silvers rivers turned to blood, the red grass burnt and the snow turned to ash.”
“They ruined everything. No more gems. Just dark and cold!”
“The survivors gripped on to life with everything they had, all the machines that kept them going, all turned into one.”
“We made ourselves so cute.” The perched sphere spoke with a glitter of laughter.
Sirius sighed “Their minds went insane and regressed to a Childs, but it was no use, their world was falling apart around them. I couldn’t stand it.”
“But then Sirius did it. He cracked the code to time. He could bring us home.” [/b]
“But that’s a paradox.” Valria stated “If you’re from Earth’s future, and you’ve come back to kill those in the past; there’s the chance you might kill yourself, you’ll seize to exist.”
Kendra sighed “And that’s the paradox machine.”
“The masterpiece of it all. Draining power from the universe itself, allowing the past and future to collide with all its might.”
“But that’s changing history.” Doc tried to make Sirius see sense “Not just this world, but every other one too.”
“I was able to figure out time travel.” Sirius snarled “I have a right to do so.”
Doc struggled to get up “Still, why come back all this way just to kill.”
“We come back to built a new empire.” The sphere said “Lasting straight up till the end of time.”
“With me as their leader.” Sirius smirked “Plus the fact I wanted to get back at your family for refusing my offer.”
“But why kill?” Nuke asked “War destroyed your world! Why only do it here to us!”
“It’s just for laughs!” [/b] the face started chuckling but Nuke didn’t see the funny side. He snatched the gun from Valria’s grip, aimed it into the face and pulled the trigger.
Sirius stood up and growled at Doc “Protecting the ones you love: The greatest weakness of them all.”
He started walking towards the door with Nosax and the sphere close behind him.
Before he left he gave a smile towards Doc and said “Night, Night. Don’t have nightmares.”
“I think it’s time we had the truth Kendra.” Tac kicked his legs up on to the now cleared table. “The legend says you’re the only one who can kill Sirius. Tell us; is it true?”
Kendra came out with it “The day I escaped, Doc asked me to…” she told the resistance members of Doc’s request to kill Sirius before typing something upon Sirius’s collar.
Within a few clicks a small wooden box appeared, Kendra walked up to it and clicked a small switch on the side in which opened it up.
“Aliens have been coming to this world for years, they’ve just been kept secret. There’s the CIA, UNIT, MIB, all of them studying aliens in secret. And they made this…” She then pulled out a gun shaped weapon which had four slots in its side. “…the ultimate defense.”
“But that looks just like my gun.” Valria pointed out “Why can’t we just shoot him with mine?”
“The thing is…” Kendra replied “With different origins come different strengths. Judging by other records on that disk of mine, his race is immune to any form of Earth or Xeronions weapons. You might as well go chuck that gun of yours out.”
She then pulled out three phials containing multi-colored liquids in each one. “However with these four chemicals, if you slot them into this and inject him; you can kill Sirius, stone dead.”
“Four?” Kit asked “You only got three.” A query that Kendra answered without a problem.
“This gun was in four parts, scattered all around. Located in Cardiff, New York and Area 51.”
“And where’s the last one?”
“There’s an old military base at the far north end of Gruteley; I’ve got the access codes, all I need is to get there.”
She looked at everyone in the building and asked “Will anyone come with me?”
Kit was the first one to stand up “I’m willing to go. If it’s the quickest way to get everything back to normal.”
Two-Tone was next “Anything to save Lucky & Cadpig.”
“And I’ll be there to save the rest.” Belchic stood next to her with a nod in agreement.
“I’m in too.” Drake smiled and joined the group.
The Doberman however rolled his eyes “I suppose I have nothing else better to do. I’m in.”
Kendra smiled and looked at the others still sitting “Anyone else?” she asked.
Nuke shook his head “Sorry.” He said in shame “I’m going out on next patrol with Locks and Beyonca.”
Data then growled “Thanks to Sirius, my network connections are bad. I can’t even leave the same room the computer’s in.”
“Someone’s got to stay to keep Candi calm.” Sip said affectedly “Plus what if another patrol comes back and have found cookies?”
“We need someone armed in case those sphere come here.” Valria spoke firm holding her weapon in her hands before trying to mutter something in her language but everyone was able to understand it.
Tac finished the row of excuses by stating “Someone’s got to keep the IQ level of this place above 20.”
Kendra looked at the group she had and back at the others, she sighed; the group she had was probably enough.
“Well, we better get going.” She addressed to her group.
As the group headed out the hole; Kendra heard a small whisper behind her, she turned to see the O & X of Tacs face.
“Kendra?” he asked making sure no one else heard them “Could you do it? Could you actually kill him?”
“I’ve got no choice.” Kendra replied, Tac just gave Kendra a strange sort of stare before saying.
“This family may have so many personalities in it, but by yours; you don’t seem like a killer to me.”
Kendra just closed her eyes and turned away and followed the rest of her group out through the hole, leaving Tac & the rest of the resistance alone back in the orange glow of the torch.
As Kendras group climbed through the tunnel leading to the outside, Kendra thought of something that might delay her plan.
“I don’t think we’ll be able to reach the base tonight.” She said to the others “The slaves will be back at their barracks by now, guards will be everywhere.”
“Don’t worry.” Drake assured her, “We know how to dodge those guys. But to be on the safe side, Nuke radioed Jamie on ahead, he’ll be able to get us a place to stay till the morning.”
“Good.” Kendra sighed.
When they emerged out of the hole, a cold harsh wind blew against the dogs faces and upon the top of their heads fell small speckles of white (this wasn’t snow, just merely the ash of incinerated slaves falling back down to earth)
“So where is this place then?” Kendra continued to ask, to which Drake replied “I think you’ll know when we get there.”
As they walked across the baron wasteland, Kendra looked up to the Doberman “Sorry.” She said “I haven’t been able to get your name. What is it?”
“It’s Marcus.” The Doberman replied.
“It’s nice to see someone who isn’t Dalmatian in this resistance.”
“I had nothing better to do.” Marcus shrugged “I don’t interfere with the affairs of others.”
Kendra stilled looked at Marcus “So you don’t really care about anything then.” To which Marcus replied “Well there’s nothing left here to care about.”
Kendra looked at the face of Marcus and saw a vertical scratch down his forehead, more to the right side “Did you get that scar in battle?” she asked.
“Not with this movement.” Marcus shook his head “It’s one I got when I fought Raiden.”
“Is he what made you join?” Kendra continued asking her questions, “I follow my own path.” Marcus said feeling fed up with her.
“But you usually were near by him back in the good days.”
“At least in those days; there wasn’t really much to run for your life for.”
Kit gave a small chuckle “Yeah, things seemed better back in those days.” He then gave a depressed sigh “It’s quite sad when you know realize you can’t go back to those times.”
When the group reached Gruteley, they stepped over the rocks & rubble of many once great buildings; avoiding many troops as possible until they reached a street lined with many terraced houses “We’re almost there.” Drake said to the others as they walked down the dark road which, in a way felt so familiar to Kendra.
The group stopped when they reached they reached a house to like every other building; was on the verge of collapse. The glass was darkened with some sort of muck, the wooded door had gone green with a high build up of moss and the mustard paint had started to peal off the wall.
This house may look like nothing special to most people but to Kendra, she remembered the first time she ever stepped into it, all covered with soot 4 years ago.
Two-Tone gave a few knocks on the door to have a pair of eyes peep out through the envelope slot. The eyes soon vanished and the emerald door opened.
In the doorway stood (unsurprisingly) a Dalmatian. Upon his right cheek laid a red crossed mark to which Kendra guessed was a scar and under his left eye formed a mark that looked like some lightning.
“You brought any food?” they asked to which Two-Tone replied “Sorry Jamie. We weren’t able to find any.” She looked into the house before asking Jamie “How much have they got left?”
“Not much?” Jamie sighed “They’ve only got water.” He stood aside and the group stepped into the house.
As Kendra followed them; she looked at the many occupants inside.
The place was stocked up with many, many creatures, from humans to dogs & cats, any animal, even down to the smallest mouse. And all of them pressed up tight against the walls, jammed up the stairs and other places crammed in between.
“It’s cheaper than building Barracks.” Kit whispered to Kendra “16 Dozen pushed into one building, sent off to the ship yards every morning.” Kendra nodded “I know.” She said looking all around “It’s like this all over the world. It’s worse than the holocaust.”
“Are you Kendra?” a voice came from behind, Kendra turned to see a small ginger tabby cat looking up at her “Are you Kendra?” it kept asking to which Kendra replied “Yeah that’s me.”
“Can you do it, can you kill him. Cause they said you can do it, they said you can kill Sirius.” The cat then looked up at a mixed terrier and kept speaking “Dodger, she can do it can’t she? Please tell us you can do it!”
The next thing Kendra knew; she was getting overrun with people asking her all these questions about her & Sirius. They soon had to be pushed back by Kit & Belchic.
“Leave her alone!” Kit said gentle to the slaves.
“Yeah.” Belchic nodded “She’s had a very long journey, she’s exhausted.”
“No.” Kendra placed her front paws on Kit & Belchics shoulders “They want me to talk. And that’s what I’ll do.”
She stepped up onto the staircase and sat down next to a boy who wore a torn green jacket and a malting crimson cap. She began to speak.
“I’ve traveled to every single place there is. From the ruins of London to the death pits of Germany all across the radiation deserts of Cairo, and in all those places I saw people like you, all as slaves. But if Kendra became a legend and that’s wrong as my name isn’t important, there are others. The reason I wandered the globe, the ones who kept me going when I felt lost, the thought of them is what kept me going all this time. Their names; are the Dearlys. They have stood up for what’s right so many times, and you barely knew they existed. They never stop, nor stay and hardly ask to be thanked. But I’ve seen them. I know them, I love them. And I know what they can do.”
“He’s here!” a small fox cub screamed out “Oh my god! It’s Sirius!”
“But he never comes to earth.” The cat whimpered “His feet never touch the soil.”
”Hide her!”
At that call a group of slaves grabbed a giant blanket at threw it over Kendra.
Outside, Sirius stepped down the street; spheres flew around him in a tight formation with human soldiers aiming their guns at each and every house.
“Kendra?” Sirius called.
“Oh Kendra?” I know you’re here! Be a good girl and come out.”
He stayed quiet for a second before going “Anybody? Nobody? Nope? Nothing?” he gave a sigh “Positions.”
On that mark; the human soldier clicked their triggers off safety.
“I will give the command, unless you come out.”
Inside, Kendra still hid under the sheet, she was shaking hard and panting as much air she can, but the next thing Sirius said made her stop.
“Think to yourself…” he smirked “What would your family do?”
Kendra knew what needed to be done. She pressed a small switch on the metallic collar and all people felt in the house was a swift breeze heading for the door.
Jamie & Drake stood firm looking through the envelope slot; ready to attack if Sirius gave the command, but then they each felt a paw placed upon their backs. They turned.
Kendra was giving them an order to stand down; they felt confused by her choice but did what they were told.
Kendra took a deep breath before clicking a red switch in which opened the door. When the door revealed the outside world, she took a step into it and out to Sirius.
