Well, I finally got around to seeing this movie. I now know why everyone says it's so great. I still think it's a bit overrated, though.

No, Halo 3 is overrated, this movie is just pure awesome, I really, can not see any flaws with it.

TDK was the most Badass Batman movie! I really like Christian Bale's Batman a lot . Heath Ledger was an awesome Joker, even if he looked like the dude from "The Crow" .

I did get to see the Nostalgia Critic's comparison between Batman (1989) and The Dark Knight (2008) and he came up with his thoughts on which movie he thought was better. Keep in mind he does say these are his opinions and he loves both movies.
MAIN HERO: Many people objected to the casting decision of Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne initally, but you were still willing to buy that no one would suspect he was Batman. The opposite was true of Christian Bale.
EDGE: Batman (1989)
MAIN VILLAIN: Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger's Jokers cannot really be compared (that's my thought) but he claims Jack Nicholson's Joker was merely creepy whereas Heath Ledger's Joker was supposed to leave you terrified. He loves Nicholson's Joker (likely still the most faithful, I undestand), but Ledger got the edge.
EDGE: The Dark Knight (2008)
SUPPORTING CAST: It seemed to be close, the fact the Joker had Bob the Goon on his side (he even got his own action figure from the Toy Biz line!) sealed the deal.
EDGE: Batman (1989)
ACTION SEQUENCES: Batman had traditional action sequences that seemed to leave you feeling satisfied and get the job done, but The Dark Knight had more dynamic action sequences that won't leave you bored.
EDGE: The Dark Knight (2008)
OVERALL STORY: Batman has a solid, well-thought out continuous story that will engage the viewer completely, while The Dark Knight seemed more interested in an overly analytical character study.
EDGE: Batman (1989)
WINNER: Batman (1989)
In the end, The Dark Knight had a very strong villain and very dynamic acton sequences, but Batman had a better hero, stronger supporting cast and a more engaging story, so Batman won.
I think? ...I can agree.

I disagree with the Critic on that. The 1989 film was a huge hit and is still one of the best Superhero movies but I believe Dark Knight trumped it. With the current swing toward a more realistic approach I feel Dark Knight fits better with the times we live in now while 1989's Batman almost starts to feel campy due to its age (ex. The original Joker's goofy poison gas scheme compared to the terrorism antics of TDK's Joker. The scene in the 89 film where the Batwing flies through the clouds and makes the Batman logo when it zooms past the moon also comes to mind.)

Well, a reason why I tend to prefer the 1989 movie to the 2008 movie is mainly because I tend to think I had the same problems with The Dark Knight that I did with 2003's Hulk: it's an action movie mixed with a faux attempt at psychoanalyzing characters. The two genres don't seem to mix.

I've seen both movies, and to me, The Dark Knight is by far, superior to that of of Batman. I mean, batman was a good movie, just The Dark Knight did it so much more better than the other movie....
To me, psycoanalyzing characters works wonders in movies, I love that sort of take on things indeed.....save for how you put it with Hulk...that movie was rather terrible, The Incredible Hulk movie was better imo anyway.
