In its 11th anniversary, here's one for the episode "Mall Pups".
As I once stated, I didn't like this episode so much mainly because it's metaphoric for a "don't cut school" message, but the problem is, we care about the Main Pups and hope they don't get caught; and Pug's the bad guy here.
I understand this episode won an award for sound mixing, but this is not one of the series' best episodes by a long shot.

This episode would have been a little better if it weren't a Bark Brigade episode. Even if it weren't, I'd probably still classify it as one of the series' worst episodes. Trey_Vore and I are very much alike as we both have this episode in our Top 10 Worst Episodes lists.

and the cameo by Two-Tone in this ep helps somewhat, her depressed sounding "here" might mean one of many things:
1: She probably hates Pug as much as everybody else does
2: She probably wanted to go to the mall too.

Has to be the first, TT like everyone else didn't know where the main pups went. She wasn't in the previous scene and would have no idea the pups were off to meet the president's dog.
I think this episode being a 22-minute one really hurt it a bit. At some points the plot really starts to drag and some scenes intented for action come off as not really needed such as the toy store chase.
At the very least this is the only episode where the theme song is used as a instrumental piece during the episode (the chase up the escalator) and it works greatly. They should have done this more often.
The concept of the president's dog having a book ghost-written by the US First Lady is not something the 101 writers thought up. George Bush's wife Barbara wrote a book credited to their cocker spaniel Millie.
Trivia: Throughout most of 1997, then current-US President Bill Clinton actually didn't have a dog although the same month this episode aired he aquired one in a chocolate lab named Buddy

I'm glad to see this section of the board being used more often.
Anyway, now that you bring up this episode and talk about Two-Tone's breif cameo, you gave me an idea for something else I could talk about. You guys probably wonder why I'm so obsessed with totem disguises and make characters do it so often? Well, it's probably because the main pups never did it in the series when they had so many perfect opportunities to do it, and this episode was a fine example!
If you remember, the two guard dogs wouldn't let the pups in without an owner. They could have done one of those special totem disguises to sneak into the mall. As you can see, what they did instead was hide under a really hairy dog (whatever those breeds are called). However, this did come pretty close to one, because when they got in, the pups poked their heads out from the front of the dog; Lucky was on top, Cadpig was in the middle, and Rolly was on the bottom, which is the order I like to see them stacked in. Also, Spot peaked out from in between the dog's sets of legs, which is also how I like it seen: Spot being singled out as much as possible.

The ending actually gave me a good laugh. Plus, I liked that catchy little tune that played while they were in the mall. I thought it ewas a fun episode. Too bad we never got to see what Filibuster looked like.

This was the only episode in the series that had the title theme music playing during the episode.

To Canzetyote, technically, we do see what Filibustr looks like, as he appears in the News Report, at the strt of the Episode. Does that coun, as an appearance from him?
Does it, Belchic? Where in the Episode, does that happen?

"Does it, Belchic? Where in the Episode, does that happen?"
The chase with Pug that leads up the escalator about nine minutes in. This episode had a lot of good background music, including that elevator music riff that plays throughout the mall scenes, and that's not surprising given this episode won the Motion Picture Sound Editors's Golden Reel Award for Best Sound Editing in Television Animation.

That is a good point, that; "Mall Pups" is an Episode, which did get an award, for; "101 Dalmatians The Series".
I also think that; "Home Is Where The Bark Is" also got the Silver Angel Award for "Excellence in Media". It also got Annie Nomination for "Story Boards", as did the Episode; "Bad To The Bone".
Though, While I can not find which Episode it is, "101 Dalmatians" also got a Day Time Emmy for; "Outstanding Achievement in Animation". So, we can claim that; "101 Dalmatians The Series" is an Emmy Awrd Wnning Show, Eh, Pups? ;3
