Chapter 6 - Breaking Up Is Hard to Do
==============================================
So, the pups set up their fire and cooked up some good food. They sat around joking around and telling ghost stories. Afterwards, it started getting dark, so they decided to camp out for the night.
"I'm afraid of getting chills," said Joey.
"You can snuggle next to me, Joey," said Lizzie with a smile.
"You really think camping out would be a good idea, Belchic?" asked Tippy.
"Well, we're all tired, so we should rest up, but tomorrow, we go non-stop to find that cave," said Belchic.
"Tippy has a good point, Belchic," said Noggin. "We can't just camp out with nothing to comfort us. It's not like sleeping bags can just fall from the sky." He waited a few seconds, and nothing happened. "There. See? What did I tell you?"
Belchic said nothing in reply. He just ignored Noggin the rest of the night. Belchic went up to Tippy, and the two of them slept together. Lizzie slept with Joey. Noggin slept alone.
Morning came. Tippy, Joey and Lizzie were still sleeping, but they were rudely awakened by the sounds of Noggin and Belchic once again arguing.
"SHUT UP, NOGGIN!" yelled Belchic.
"We're not doing it, Belchic!" yelled Noggin.
"Stop being such a basket case!" complained Belchic.
"I'm just trying to keep us all safe," explained Noggin.
"What? You wanna fight about it?" Belchic asked.
"That's gonna get you nowhere, Belchic," said Noggin. "I can beat you anytime!"
"Here we go again," moaned Tippy.
"Why must you make such a big deal out of this?" asked Belchic. "We're just going over a lousy mountain."
"But it's too dangerous," said Noggin. "If we're going to go over that mountain, we should think it over a little more!"
"You're just a coward," mocked Belchic.
"I am not! You're just a parasite!" replied Noggin
"Taking the mountain's the shortest route," said Belchic.
"But going that way is entrepenuership," said Noggin. "You do realise we are risking our lives by going over a mountain. Do you have any idea how high that thing goes?"
"Let's just go as far as we can up the mountain," suggested Belchic.
"That's the stupidest idea I've ever heard!" Noggin replied.
"We're not getting anywhere arguing like this," said Belchic holding up his fists.
"Stop trying to bully yourself into being the leader, Bel-boy," Noggin said in a jerky tone."
"Stop being so difficult, Noggin!" shouted Belchic.
"ME being difficult? You're the most difficult person I've ever met!" yelled Noggin.
At that moment, Tippy busted in and pounded them both on the heads.
"SHUT THE FREAK UP, YOU TWO!!!" Tippy yelled at the top of her lungs.
Everyone was totally silent. Nobody has ever heard Tippy yell like that. Tippy was admittingly shocked as well. So, in an apologetic way, she seperated Belchic from Noggin for a while to calm him down. Once he was calm, he brought himself back to the group.
"Okay, here's the deal," Belchic explained. "We have two routes we can take. We can go over the mountain, or take the path that Noggin wants to take. Now, the mountain is a shorter route, but the path is longer. Now, I'm sure we all are in a hurry to find our friends and want to get this adventure over with, so I say we take the short cut. All those in favor, say aye."
Tippy, Joey and Lizzie said "Aye."
"And all those against," said Belchic, "say nay."
With no doubt, Noggin said, "Nay."
"And why are you so against this, Noggin?" asked Belchic.
"Haven't I explained this to you enough?" Noggin bickered. "It may be too dangerous to go over that mountain. We'd be safer taking that path. So, here's the deal. Either I be the leader, or I leave the group!"
"That does it, Noggin!" snapped Belchic. "I have had it with you! If you want to leave the group, then go ahead and do it! That way, I won't have to deal with you anymore."
"Fine," said Noggin. "I think I'll just do that." With that said, Noggin turned his back and started heading off in his own direction.
"Good luck, you four," he said as he walked away.
The others just watched Noggin fade off in the distance.
"Well," said Lizzie, "there goes Noggin."
"I guess we're now minus a teammate," said Joey.
"Ah, he was a jerk, anyway," said Belchic.
"Well, let's see if you're right, Belchy," said Tippy.
"Okay," said Belchic. "Let's go, guys."
And so, off they went to go over the mountain.
