WAIT! I saw it, I didn't think it was as good as the first.
Most of the Autobots still have no real characterization. Sideswipe (the special Corvette concept) is probably the coolest of the new ones and he only gets maybe 2 lines in the whole film! Even Ratchet only has like 1 line.
The Transformers appear more but only Bumblebee, Optimus, the annoying new Mudflap & Skids, Megatron, Starscream, Jetfire and The Fallen get a decent amount of screen time. Sideways (the Audi R8) is one of the coolest new Decepticons and he only gets one scene! Even most of the Constructicons are only seen when they combine into Devasator.
Characters appear and disappear for no real reason. Wheelie (one of the new Transformers) has a decent size role in the movie but he just vanishes with no explaination near the end.
Plus Barricade, probably the coolest of the surviving Decipticons in the first one, is completely absent with no explaination given.
Oh ya, and not a spoiler, NO JAZZ!
Still, the action is great. I'd recommend it but not too much. If you want some Michael Bay, the first Transformers, "The Rock" or "Bad Boys" are better ones.

Saw it the other day and I thought it was an awesome movie, however, I am still dissapointed that they changed Devastator completely. When I heard he was going to be in the movie, I was hoping for his true original form, not some giant hulking beast....
Although, I believe I'm one of the few that did like Skids and Mudflap, thought they were quite cool actually, given a good personality, especially to show that not all humans talk normally and that some believe that they can act cool by talking as if they werte part of some pathetic gang, which in turn, would be the reason why the twins spoke like that, copying thw wrong kind of humans in talking.
Though Jetfire's concept was good too, would've liked to see some other older Transformers too, like the ones that Wheelie had pointed out, along with Agent Simmons.
Too bad the Dinobots aren't going to be in the third one, cause it would've been wesome if they were to show up there.

They are considering the Dinobots for the third one, they just need an excuse as to why a robot would disguise itself as a giant lizard.

Well, there is a simple one for the Autobots crashing eons ago and taking the form of a dinosaur, even though the Autobots in general were the ones the created the Dinobots, I should know since I saw that GI episodes a few days ago ^^

Nothing personal. But Stop trying to convince us the movie sucks Belchic, If people like it, then people like it. Let them be. =/ Yeah, but in case you haven't noticed, for the past ten or so years, there have been movies coming out based on resurrected fads. Most of them really sucked like X-Men, Hellboy, Inspector Gadget, Fantastic 4, etc. There are some, however, that are doing really well like Batman, Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, etc. By the looks of things, it doesn't matter if the movies are good or bad, they always seem to make sequels to them. Oh, and nothing personal, bab, but you really need to work on your grammar and punctuation.

Yeah but... www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLP8o_JbqxoDon't be "one of those haters who do nothing but knock"... Transformers is an exception to that trend. You're agrument makes no sense. Say GM makes a few bad cars with old names than makes an awesome one that completely kicks ass with another old name. You seem to imply that people should totally avoid the one that kicks ass because the others sucked. That's horse sh*t, if something is awesome than it's awesome and people should be allowed to enjoy it. "By the looks of things, it doesn't matter if the movies are good or bad, they always seem to make sequels to them" Yeah, it's called CAPITALISM! If there is a demand for something you fill it and make a profit. It's how our system works. There's a reason the USA has the world's largest GDP and our film industry is the world's strongest. We know how to make money with movies.

Belchic! What do you mean by grammer and puncuation!? I can not find anything wrong with it. Don't get how i write into things. I don't rant on what i think of your grammer & punctuation. Maybe how you write stories, but not your grammer.
And it doesn't matter if a movie is a resurrected fad. Just because it is a remake doesn't mean it should suck. Do what Race says, Stop being a hater who does nothing but knock. You might hate this movie, but have you ever considered that some other people would like them? Leave them alone!
Belchic. Accept that fact that people like it, and leave this thread alone. End of discussion.
Now let's get back to people who watched this movie and want to give real thoughts and real critique of it...

Yeah. If what that Confused Matthew guy says is law, then I guess I'm looking at life in prison because I put The Lion King on my #1 Disney movie out of my Top 15. Here's my thoughts: I honestly liked the new movie very much. Things that I enjoyed included seeing a plot that seemed to work on a grander scale, instead of just one RBFATE. Another thing that I liked was the fact they put a little more emphasis on the feud between Megatron and Starscream; that was something I would have wanted to have seen in the first movie. Of course, since more of the screentime was devoted to the Autobots in the first movie, and the Decepticons got very little (just like in the 80s cartoon), this is a good idea to try to establish what the villains are hoping to accomplish. The 'synergy' of past ideas is a nice touch as well (the 'Pretender'). The plot seems to have taken some liberties with the original film. It seems the AllSpark wasn't the Cybertronian artifact to have found it's way to Earth; as it now involves a Solar Harvester that the Decepticons are hoping to use to destroy the Sun (and thus, the Earth), thereby collecting enough energon for themselves. Some continuity issues occur, namely near the beginning (at Sam's house) and near the end (the constant appearing/disappearing characters seemingly like Space Jam). A large number of focus is given to the human characters (Sam going to college, Mikalea's history is given more attention, the ultimate fate of Agent Simmons), but it's still nice to have more attention to the Transformer characters. Well, I won't try to detail too much considering what happens and all, but here goes. For the returning characters, the most attention is given to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron and Starscream. Other returning characters like Ratchet and Ironhide seem to get less (in Ironhide's role I was slightly disappointed, considering some of the toys suggested otherwise). And Megatron occasionally saying "Yessss..." was a funny touch considering it reminded me of his Beast Wars incarnation. For the new characters? For starters, there is the Fallen, who acts as the film's new villain. I estimate that he's called 'the Fallen' as in 'the Fallen Prime'. I am not too familiar with this character (though it's possible he was from a continuity I'm not familiar with). He's a Prime that had, well, fallen from graces after ignoring the Prime law--ergo, the origin of the Decepticons. Not a bad explanation, although his character seems to create a few 'idiot plots'...what was he doing the whole time Megatron was encased in ice? And for that matter, when he was dead at the end of the first movie? Another character is Wheelie, who's cast to be something of a turncoat, and he's a lot more appealing/likable than in the old 80s movie, which his character just furthered the case that the old cartoon had 'jumped the shark' (when you consider in the old movie, the Decepticons we getting characters like Cyclonus and Scourge, the Autobots got...a little kid that rhymes. No wonder they seemed so grim in the '86 movie). His design reminds me a little of Wall-E. Another character is Jetfire, another Decepticon-turned-good. Here, as evidenced by the 'cane' he's cast to be an elder-bot, which isn't new (Kup on G1, Ratchet on Animated) but probably better than his original incarnation (he seemed to be kicked down too easily). He's still a useful new addition, helping give details when necessary and suggests that he may have had done plenty of thinking while hiding on Earth. We'll miss ya Jetfire. Then there the twins Skids and Mudflap, which I affectionately dub the 'Ghettobots'. Some people probably have problems with them but I am with Drake in that I found them to be quite funny (at my screening, a lot of viewers were laughing at their antics). I would understand if some viewers would find them offensive, but it turns out their speech patterns and attitudes were the decision of the voice actors. The others I wish I could say more about. Soundwave appears in the movie, but without the vocoder he ends up sounding like Inspector Gadget's Dr. Claw. The Constructions all appear but don't get any development--I guess the point is we want them to be there to all merge and become Devastator (and they do). Given that there are several Constructicons and Devastator can be formed as long as there are a good number, chances are he's not finished yet (I can only imagine how terrifying he'd be in real life). It was once stated that during the animation process, Devastator actually caused a computer to fry and it's insides melted. The rest...I can't say much about. I would really have liked to have seen a little more of Arcee (considering she was cut from the original movie and replaced with Ironhide although she made it in the original toyline), and others like Sideswipe was underused as well. And I was a little disappointed with Decepticons like Sideways and Demolisher. It was a little bit of a downer that Barricade doesn't appear, and for that matter, Jazz doesn't get revived. The way I see this movie, it is probably just like to the original film the way Spider-Man 2 (2004) was to Spider-Man (2002): it's probably seems like it's a filler chapter, but might pay off once we get to the third movie. And hopefully, the upcoming DVD will have a wide assortment of 'cutscenes' that we can see pieced into the film. Would I recommend it? Yes. Hell, I'll probably go and see it again. It's probably below par of the first movie but I still found it to be worth my while. "Ow!! That's my eye you crazy ****!" --Calling Megan Fox the "B" word takes a lot of gall, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen"

Movie was terrible. Way, WAY to many things wrong with it for me to go into without spoilers but... Lack of Charterization. Lack of plot It's like Micheal Bay went out of his way to make racisim "Funny" (Mudflap and Sidz...pointless...but why do they have gold buckteeth and largish ears like 'primates'? I still don't get how it's supposed to be 'funny' to have giant robots who are supposed to be soldiers, acting like idiots. Hey, optimus, what the ****, can't you control your own team? "Yeah, we don't read so much" That was a written line for them. That's just down right disgusting. ) Cool, bunch of new transformers! AWESOME!! Motorcycle Transformers!! WTF- 2 seconds of screen time. Why so much interest on Sam and his idiot friends? Seriously, I went to the movie to see giant robots, not stupid kids talking. Movie was Terrible too many problems not enough things to rescue it.

I am the only one who find it weird that Optimus Prime kills basically in cold blood in the opening scene. I mean, yeah Scavenger or whoever the big excavator was is a Decepticon but he just shots him point blank in the head and kills him when he can no longer defend himself. That doesn't seem very Optimus-like.
