Another death happened, George Lindsey has died.
Alot of fans will remember him as Goober Pyle on the Andy Griffith show, but us Disney fans will remember him from such movies as The Aristocats and Robin Hood

Dude, we already have a topic to announce death. No need to create a whole 'nothing topic.
But sorry for the loss

Yeah, Slayer, making a thread about only one person who died isn't necessary. That's why we have this thread to discuss deaths of famous people. I even showed the link to this thread on that thread you started that just got deleted.
Now, back on topic.
I'm sorry to see that automotive designer and racing driver Carroll Shelby just died.

Since this is the thread to discuss celebrity deaths basically. And no, her death was "not more important" than anyone else's. I also don't appreciate being called an a**hole, thank you, since all I'm doing is my job. But yes, sorry for the loss.

I'm goin' miss Shelby but I think we all saw this coming, his driving career ended because of heart issues in the early-1960s. It's amazing he lived this long. His name will live on though forever associated with performance. The Cobra, GT500, Daytona Coupe, GT350H, Omni GHLS and some development on the Ford GT40 race car are quite the legacy to leave behind. The last car to bear his name he saw developed was the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and it's not only the first Mustang to be capable of 200 MPH but it's the most-powerful car by pure horsepower ever put in regular production.
Personally I think this thread gets used too darn much, we have news sites why do I need to hear on this site someone famous died?

I see that there's an addition to the name of this thread. And I just thought this thread is used just the right amount of times. I mean, the whole point of this thread is to let the members of this board know about the celebrities that recently died and discuss with them what those celebrities were best known for before they passed on.
Anyway, I think it's a good idea to keep the addition to the title of this thread and drop the original part of it.

Got more death news,
The Queen of Disco, Donna Summer, known from her songs "Last Dance" among others, died this morning after losing her battle with cancer.

R.I.P. Donna Summer, I heard that one on the radio, from what was said on TMZ she said she got cancer when she inhaled toxic particles on 9/11

I really liked Donna Summer's music. I find it sad that Crayons is her only album of original material since her 1991 album Mistaken Identity.

I was looking in the News Agents today (e.g. Paper Shop) and I saw one Newspaper claim "She was killed due to dust from 9/11!"
I honestly don't know if that's true or not, but it sounds quite ridiculous to me! Yeah, Cause Dust waits over Ten Years to get its Victims! Either way, any dust was most likely exhaled during Ten Years!
What you think of that claim? A Lie to sell more Papers?

The article was true.
You see she got cancer from inhaling the fumes from 9/11, and it claimed her life yesterday.
It's like getting Mesothelioma from inhaling Asbestos.
Plus, Donna herself said she believed her cancer was linked to the 9/11 dust.

Okay, Fair enough. It did seem hard to understand at the time. =s Cause it was in a Newspaper which most people claim is a very unreliable one.
Was she even in New York at that time?
Can you understand why I didn't believe it at first?

Yes, Donna was in a nearby apartment building on the day of 9/11, so it's plausible that she was in New York. Otherwise she wouldn't have inhaled the 9/11 dust, thus preventing her from getting lung cancer in the first place.
Yeah, I know. Some newspapers lie, but people can live normal lives while battling cancer.
