Okay, seriously, how many female characters on the show have been in a romantic relationship with Lucky? Cadpig, Two-Tone, Rebecca, and in this one, Dumpling. It's kind of odd to think that whenever Lucky gets in a romantic relationship, it always seems to last just one episode.
I do hate this episode, and it's one of my Top 10 least favorites of the entire series. The whole Lucky/Dumpling relationship just didn't work out for me. Afterall, Dumpling is a very annoying character; I think she's probably more annoying than Spot!
Anyway, I felt like bringing this topic up because I'm sure you are all familiar with my gimmick of piggybacks, totem poles and trench coat tricks. Well, I do know that there were a lot of totem poles and stack ups in the series, there were never any trench coat tricks, but people have argued with me that there were never any piggyback rides in the series. I'm sure there were some piggyback rides done in some episodes, and this was one of them. If I remember correctly, sometime during the first half of the episode, Dumpling gives Lucky a piggyback ride. All you non-believers who have access to this episode, check it out for yourself.

Well, Dumpling giving Lucky a piggyback ride is a different scenerio. Reason; because she is a PIG. So of course she be giving a PIGgyback Ride!
Also, i actually think the Dumpling relationship happened in another episode too. =3 "Valentines Daze" when Lucky sneeks about and discovers the Valentine, Roger made for Anita, Dumpling thought it was Luckys gift to her. So i would count that as more than one episode. ;3
Though the thought of a Pig getting it on with a Puppy is somewhat disturbing for me. o.o

Hmmm Bab you might have inspired me to write with your post about Dumpling thinking Lucky is giving her a valentine

I felt inspired to bring this topic up when Flo posted screenshots from it.
I think Lucky's attempt to get Dimpling to save him from the wagon was stupidly played out. I think it might have worked better if Lucky acted like he was stuck in the wagon's path. That would have worked a lot better.
Don't you guys agree?

I'd think so
I'd also like to believe the whole Dumpling and Lucky thing as a crush Dumpling pushed onto Lucky

I think so, but you saw how well Dumpling saved him... *Eyeroll* I think he made the right choice not trying to look stuck.
And totally agreed Two Tone. She didn't really care if Lucky saved her life, she was just looking for an excuse to smother him. I think the real solution would have been to found someone else for her to smother.... oh and that is exactly what happened.

I kinda like this episode...let's say that at High school and even in College some girls felt in love with me for "saving their lives" at exams and stuff and I felt the same, really felt awkward and I was trying to runaway from them what Lucky did on this episode.
Anyway, not my favoriteeeee episode, but I think Lucky is a pretty charismatic puppy so he tends to draw attention from the girls ^^
I think it's a good episode, good moral, the animation is ok and the soundtrack on it was ok too.

Can't say I thought this episode was any good.
On my Tier List of Best and Worst episodes I list this episode as one of the worst.

I have said it before and I'll say it again.
I find "Shrewzle Watch" to be a pretty good episode, however not many people put it that high up in their list of fav episodes. I think it's due to "Life You Save" that might hold it down a bit. Although, it has been a while since I seen the episode. So I might need to give it a re-watch to see what I think of it. Should I?

Dumpling really isn't right for Lucky and he knows it which drives the plot of the episode. As others said not the best, although the ending with Dumpling of all farm residents beating the snot of Steven is good.

I never really liked this episode (Or the one paired up with it, "Shrewzel Watch"). Plus, I never really liked Dumpling anyway. She annoys me!

Reason why his relationships don't last is cause it would ruin the formula of the show. As a children's show there's in unlikely there would be any story arcs or character development lasting longer than one episode.
