I know for a fact that Cookie is played by Yvette Nicole Brown, better known to some as either Helen from the Nick-com "Drake and Josh" (one of my favorites), or as Shirley from the recently cancelled NBC comedy, "Community" (also a favorite, regardless).

I recently made up my own little personality quiz to find out which Shelter 17 dog you are most like. I know not everyone here watches this show, but is anyone interested in trying it out? If so, let me know; Shawn and bab have already taken it (through PM's).

You know those quizzes you find on the Internet where you find out which character from a TV show you are? Well, I made one for Pound Puppies. Sadly, I don't know how to make actual quizzes like this, so I'm just posting this draft here. I shared this with a couple people over PM, so I thought it might be cool to post it here and see if anyone would like to try it. Just answer these six questions below and add up the points you earned, then look at the results below to figure out which dog from Shelter 17 is most like you! --- Questions:Question #1: How well do you get along with others?A. I'm always more than willing to be friends with somebody and put their needs in front of my own. - 5 B. I know all sorts of people, and I can only handle those who I know are trustworthy. - 2 C. I can get along with some people, just as long as they give me space. - 3 D. I'm very generous to others, but I prefer to hang out with people who understand me. - 4 E. I love everybody. - 1 Question #2: What role in a team do you work best as?A. The Leader - 5 B. The Muscle - 3 C. The Technician - 4 D. The Guide - 2 E. The Heart - 1 Question #3: On a scale of 1 to 5, how willing are you to step out of your comfort zone?A. 1 - 2 B. 2 - 3 C. 3 - 1 D. 4 - 4 E. 5 - 5 Question #4: Which of these is your biggest weakness?A. I'm physically-challenged. - 4 B. I'm not too bright. - 1 C. I'm hot-tempered. - 3 D. I have low self-esteem. - 5 E. I'm a coward. - 2 Question #5: What do you like to do in your spare time?A. Work out - 3 B. Eat & sleep - 1 C. Gossip - 5 D. Play - 2 E. Try something new - 4 Question #6: What is your prized possession?A. My food stash - 1 B. My computer - 4 C. My toys - 2 D. My punching bag - 3 E. I don't really have one; all I need is my family. - 5 Results:If you scored 6-10, you are...NIBLET!You love to have fun and make people laugh. You may not have a high I.Q., but you certainly have a big heart. There are many who accept you for the way you are, and they are your true friends. If you scored 11-15, you are...SQUIRT!You always know what's best for your friends. Every day, you learn something new through experience, and it helps your ability to distinguish what's right and wrong. When working on a team, you make a very loyal, smart and helpful companion. If you scored 16-20, you are...COOKIE!You are a very strong individual who takes their job seriously. Some may fear you, but others admire you. You are often hot-tempered, but deep down inside, you have a kind heart. If you scored 21-25, you are...STRUDEL!You are a natural intellectual who amazes others with your knowledge. While you are a little arrogant and have limited physical abilities, you always find ways to overcome obstacles. Others around are also thankful for your generosity. If you scored 26-30, you are...LUCKY!You are a natural born leader with a fast and clever brain. You are always honest, and you're never afraid to step out of your comfort zone and go the extra mile to put others' needs in front of your own. These traits are just a few of the things why many look up to you.[/quote] --- I hope I did a good job pulling this together, and I hope everything sounds about right. Anyone here is cool to try this out. I took this quiz myself, and I got COOKIE, yeah! ^^

I'm currently watching The Great Escape. The theme music reminds me a lot of the Pound Puppies theme! Guess I can see where they got the inspiration.

I will say despite this show having a lack of popularity compared to MLP and LPS, and the fact that it's over, I still think Trey_Vore is being way too pessimistic about this show. Just because it's gender-neutral, that doesn't automatically make it bad. I mean, sure, there was a lack of merchandise for it, and it doesn't have as many fans or Internet memes as MLP and LPS, but the show did have exceptionally high ratings, a lot of the episodes were released on DVD (I proudly happen to own two of the DVD's), and there are even some loyal fans who are trying to petition to bring the show back (even though I learned the hard way that petitions lead to nothing but trouble). Not to mention, we probably never would have had PAW Patrol had it not been for this show. Yes, believe it or not, the creators of PAW Patrol were heavily-influenced by Pound Puppies to create their awesome show. So that's a good thing, right? Oh, wait...Trey hates PAW Patrol too, doesn't he? I find it weird that someone who loves 101 Dalmatians doesn't like Pound Puppies or PAW Patrol. I mean it's not like comparing Legend of Zelda to Hydlide. Well, I'm sure Trey may give me an explanation by comparing apples to oranges or something like that. And I can't argue since he enjoys cartoons that I don't care too much for (like "The Simpsons" and "Teen Titans"). We all have different tastes.

Well when you make an effort to actually write children's literature, you kinda need to have an understanding of how it works. Believe me I am coming close to my 40th sale of my first book and all I've heard is glowing thoughts about it. It goes a bit deeper than me starting with an episode you didn't like--and well, there were at least five cartoons on that very DVD I started with--the only problem you seemed to have with that episode was "they went somewhere, and then they didn't go home". I see that happen on The Simpsons all the time; that's not a bad thing. And like babclayman once said, we don't need to see them, ACTUALLY GO HOME, it's not going to add anything to the story. What I did learn is, well, if you remember my thing that I went on about in my "Everybody Loves Krystal" pic, the relatability factor is crucial for a movie to be successful. I felt the 80s cartoon and even that awful Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big Paw managed to get that right. As a side note, since you did try watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) I will go and try PAW Patrol.

Nothing but praise? I'm sure you will eventually hear criticism on your book. That's the way the world works, Trey.
Also, did you bother to check out any of the other episodes on the DVD, Trey? There are many episodes that I find far more superior. For instance, I think the episode with Toyoshiko is one of the best. A lot of the strongest episodes are in Season 3 like "Lucky the Dunce", "Lord of the Fleas" and "The Truth is in Hear". I think my favorite episode of the series would have to be the Christmas special, and that's rare for me. All the episodes are streaming on Netflix if you have it.
As for PAW Patrol, I recommend you watch at least five episodes or so before you give an impression on it. I'd like you to get a chance to see episodes where each pup is in action so you can see what their personalities and specialties are.

I saw a trailer on Discovery Family this weekend about something they've got going on called "Pawgust." The commercial was hosted by Betty White, and she said it was something that was going to have a marathon of shows and movies associated with dogs. I wonder if this means they'll be showing a lot of Pound Puppies episodes. Even though the show is cancelled, as far as I know, reruns are still airing on Discovery Family. Also, Betty White was in the show, so it makes sense, right?

I've got some sad news to report. The plushies based on the characters from this show...can not be found anywhere now! Not even Amazon or eBay has them! Trust me, I searched, and they're not there! Anyone who managed to get their hands on those plushies are so lucky to have them in their possession, and I'm actually surprised how rare they are.

Even though Hasbro has confirmed this series is over, there is still a chance they could renew it for more seasons. I mean if LPS and MLP can have over 100 episodes, then why not?
I found a lot of people on Facebook who are like hardcore fans of this show. There could be a chance that Pound Puppies will be brought back into production by popular demand. That happened with Rugrats, it happened with Dexter's Laboratory, and it happened with Family Guy, so I could see it happening to Pound Puppies as well.

A friend of mine has informed me that Pound Puppies is still airing on Discovery Family, but it's only airing once a week: they play two back-to-back episodes on Saturday mornings. Sounds to me like this show is on the last ends of its toes and has a very strong chance of cancelation. We can only hope for a full series DVD release now, which I'm sure will come since the show has a pretty good reputation, even though it's not as popular as MLP or LPS.
