Does Kyle deserve the title the way he is running. Sadly that would be a yes.
Will he win it? That is in question. NASCAR's Chase format will erase most of Kyle's lead after Richmond (10 races to go) and once that happens it's a whole new ballgame. Two bad races (maybe even one) could knock his title hopes out of the window. Well see if Kyle can seal the deal come September.
Friends don't let friends drive Toyotas.

Gordon had all year to keep building his lead. Kyle on the other hand loses most of his after Richmond.
He could lose, Jeff Burton has been more consistant this season. Plus how many times have we seen a team dominate a regular season and go out early in the playoffs (2003 Detroit Red Wings, 1994 Seattle Supersonics, etc)

The Monster Mile or the big one at Talladega may have something to say about his chances...
And yes folks, I am back.

I was locked out of the board by a guest lock.
Mark Martin won Dega in the spring 1997 (the rain delayed by like two weeks one) but was still collected in the big one in the fall race. Talladega has no mercy on former winners

I'm still pulling for the Fords. Carl or Matt or Greg or maybe even David Ragan (yes that guy I make a bunch of Bloopers about, HE IMPROVED!) might be able to use the Chase and pull back up.
Plus Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon are both overdue to get HOT and may knock Shrub on his high #18 Toyota horse

His crew missed the setup on his #24 Chevy, he just didn't have the car. It wierd, road races usually put the emphasis on the driver instead of the car I'm surprised someone with Gordon's talent couldn't overcome it
