Hey Pups! =3
I been checking in the "Franchise Discussion" and I actually noticed, that there is no thread talking about the "Original Novel". o.o
To be fair, The Novel is what started it all, so surely it deserves a thread to itself. X3
I have been reading it lately (Possibly going to do an Audio book for Youtube) and I do notice alot of Elements in it.
I hear, it originally started as a Serial in a Magazine, however due to popularity, it was published officially. =3
When Walt Disney made the "Animated" Adaptation, It is obvious, that a few elements would be changed.
Like say...Instead of the Two Mother Dalmatians, Missis & Perdita. They were merged into one Dalmatian Mother, Perdita (Although, She is still sometimes refered to as Missis Pongo)
The Same case happened with the Nanny's.
From, Nanny Cook & Nanny Butler...to just...Nanny Cook (I read somewhere, that is the one, Disney choose). X3
Another case in being how in the Original "Novel", We had, Saul & Jasper.
And we all know, Disney changed "Saul" to "Horace" in their adaptation. Possibly due to how Horace is a more common name...
Though, I then notice how in "101 Dalmatians The Music", Saul's name is once again, changed to Jinx...
What is it with people renaming, Horace/Saul? o.O
Still, There are elements which Disney do keep from the "Original Novel" when making "101 Dalmatians The Series" like Cadpig's appearance, Along with the Dearly's surname. =3
Though, If I do have to critic it, I will say that Lucky is somewhat a small G. Stu, although, the attention is more towards what the Adult Dalmatians, So the Lucky thing isn't too forced. X3
But still, even after Fifty Years, It is still an enjoyable read, with good laughs here and there, along with fine writing. =3
So...What do you Pups think of thr "Original Novel"? X3
