Take a look at this: This is an official video made by Hasbro in 2009. Something tells me that ths is what Hasbro was originally planning when they were making "Friendship is Magic", but then Lauren Faust stepped up and said, "Why do we give Girls, this crap? I'm female! Let's give the Younger Girls something that tells them, they can be awesome too." Ironically, more males watch the show then females! That thing stinks in my opinion. The actual film is much better. I am not denying I grew to love the show XD But anyways, Rainbow Dash always dresses in time? I don't see that happening XD Actually, it's style, not time.

That's the thing about copyrights; they can expire. I mean, for one thing, not too long ago Disney had to renew the rights to Mickey Mouse otherwise if the copyright was not renewed, for all we know the next time we saw Mickey Mouse he'd be selling phones for AT&T.
As far as Hasbro can do, they can go and use a character's name in a movie or cartoon series but the character having a toy is another issue. Nowadays, they could probably still use My Little Ponies with names like "Sparkler" or "Posey" but others like "Surprise" is just too vague, "Firefly" used to be a Fox TV show and "Twilight" is also a movie series title (the Twilight Saga film series, like how M. Night Shamalan's The Last Airbender could not begin with "Avatar" because of the James Cameron movie).
I've seen lots of different Transformers toys and I know they have no problem copyrighting characters with unique enough names like "Ironhide", "Cliffjumper", "Sunstreaker", "Grimlock", "Laserbeak" or "Starscream".
On the other hand, copyrights are a little funny. I mean they can go and copyright vague-sounding names and put a toy on the shelf with "Prowl", "Brawn", "Bumblebee", "Soundwave", "Barricade" and "Rampage", but other characters like "Jazz", "Ratchet", "Hound", "Gears", "Bludgeon" and "Brawl" are just a bit too vague to copyright the name alone. The character "Bluestreak" had a toy out a few years ago and he was renamed "Silverstreak".

As a matter of fact, that happened in the Disney parks as well. I'm talking specifically about the Country Bears. Not that I want to sound like I'm giving a history lesson, but here we go:
The original attraction opened in Walt Disney World the day the park opened. The same attraction came to Disneyland the following year. Then, in 1984, they started playing the Christmas show during the holiday season. In 1986, the original show at Disneyland was replaced with the Vacation Hoedown. Starting in 1992, the Vacation Hoedown played at Disney World during the summertime. While the attraction at Disneyland closed in 2001, the one at Disney World played on, and it still played all three shows. As of 2005, however, the Vacation Hoedown and the Christmas Special discontinued playing at that theater because some of the songs used in those shows were copyrighted, and Disney did not renew their rights to use them at the time. Since then, only the original show continues to play at Disney World and to this very day, mainly since all the songs in that show were original.

"So... now we are... planning??"
Wow! That's the loudest 'no' I've ever heard!
"Dude... I can't believe I thought that looked good!"
"Quit torturing me, let me die!!"
And hopefully your brain too.
I think we can say the changes were clearly for the better.
XD

Indeed, they sure did! o.o
Apparently, Scootaloo was Cherilee's Sister in the older version as well. Cut to FIM, and they change that to, Cherilee's a teacher, not a Sister.
And THANK YOU FOR FIXING RD, Lauren!
Although, Pinkie Pie seems to be the one most similar, to her older counterpart. o.o
Little in joke they did as well, Twilight Sparkles Mother has the exact same design as Twilight in the G1 Version. So, Little nod to older Fans there, perhaps? o.o

Wasn't there more to the Scootaloo one? I thought after she went "NO!" it then showed her bashing her head on the piano going "Never never never!"
I've never seen Cheerilee, so I can't say anything about her. That's the thing I don't like about this show. All the fans seem to know more and care more about the ensemble dark ponies, but I tend to care less about them and more on the main ponies.

I think you mean this: I like how it cuts the song off and then we see Scootaloo's distain for the prior role. ;D

Seen at the start of "Call Of Cutie" teaching us what Cutie Marks are, along with being the one who arranges the Talent Show in "The Show Stopppers". I think she gets attention, because she was already a pre-exsisting character and one of the mains in G3 (Like I said, being a Sister to Scootaloo. To which they have altered now). You know who she is now, Belchic? ;3

I don't think I've ever done this, but I thought I'd let you guys know how I'd rank the main ponies from my favorite to least favorite: 1. Twilight Sparkle 2. Rainbow Dash 3. Pinkie Pie 4. Rarity 5. Fluttershy 6. Applejack ...Maybe this post belongs in the Ranking Thread.

Okay.
I don't necessarily have one favorite over the others; I don't usually do that.

Yeah, Don't have any full preferences either, like Trey. ;3 Although, I admit, Rarity is my least favourite out of the Main Group! ^^; BTW, A Preview of the Season 2 Opening has been posted up... www.youtube.com/watch?v=E005felAjIUApparently, They're facing an enemy who can poof things, in & out of exsistance at will, toying about with the Heroes, and is voiced by John de Lancie... So, Yeah...MLP are fighting against; Q from Star Trek:TNG. O.O What you think of that then, Pups? *Hugs* X3

this should be interesting though lets hope Q doesn't warp Equestria into Borg space or else the ponies might get assimilated into the Borg collective

Pretty sure the Borg collective wouldn't have much use for them (What exactly would assimilating Pinkie or Rarity give them? The ability to throw any party but a kegger? The ability to get hit on by Spike?)
Nice to see de Lancie having a little fun basically reprising his signature role (he's actually admitted he's probably aged out of playing Q in live action). Discord definitely has some of Q's mannerisms, that teleport conversation thing for sure, and just like how Q wasn't quite a villain I have a feeling they'll play that same card too.
Is it wrong to pull for the bad guy in this one?
