I actually heard, at the time it came out, "101 Dalmatians" was the Highest Grossing Movie of it's time.
Also, if you adjust for Inflation, "101 Dalmatians" made more than Avatar!
But yeah, Couldn't hurt to try. You never know if it works until one has tried, right?

I'm sure he's referring to the James Cameron one, otherwise, he would have said "The Last Airbender".

good point. But really? 101 Dalmatians topped James Cameron's Avatar? I thought it surpassed Titanic's record. So this means 101 Dalmatians is really a hit around to globe. Long live the dalmatians!

Like I mentionedl Adjusted for Inflation, which means if £1 in the 60's is worth differently from £1 toay, then yes, it would top Cameron's Avatar.
It probably doesn't have as much money as Avatar, but when it came out, it was, like mentioned, the highest grossing Animated Film, ever.
Make more sense?

I don't know how your money translates into US dollars, bab, but I'll take your word for it.

Okay here's my crack at how the Dals could be done in Disneyland 1961 - 101 Dalmatians hits theaters, at the park the Magic Kingdom welcomes the Radcliffe family as new chars including Roger, Anita, Nanny, Pongo, Perdita, Lucky, Rolly, Patch, and Penny. Also Cruella De Vil joins the ranks of the Disney villains as well. in the 70s after the 1969 reissue of 101 Dalmatians the Radcliffes are retired (but the Dalmatians remain) Cruella also remains as a villain character, this will continue till the 1980s when the dalmatians are retired but Cruella remains as a villain 1991 - with the reissue of 101 Dalmatians Pongo and Perdita return for the holiday parades, Cruella appears alongside Jasper and Horace in the villains, this will continue from 1991 - 1996 1996 - the release of the live action 101 Dalmatians brings back the Radcliffes now under the Dearly surname, as well as live dalmatians portraying the roles of Pongo, Perdita, Lucky, Patch, Two-Tone, Dipstick, Wizzer, Jewel, and Fidget, also Cruella returns as well this time in a more live look, this lasts through the holiday season of 1996 - 1997 1997 - the release of 101 Dalmatians the series, the live dalmatians are retired as new costumed versions of the dalmatians enter the park including Pongo, Perdita, Lucky, Rolly, Cadpig, patch, Two-Tone, Dipstick, Wizzer, and Tripod, also added are Spot and Mooch. the characters are also present in Toon Town as well as the Dearlys (the costumes were changed to match their series counterparts, Cruella retains her classic look though. This would last a long while till 2002 when the series leaves airwaves to Toon Disney, as of this point the dalmatians are retired but are soon the 102 Dalmatians debut in the park in time for the sequel with Dipstick (adult), Dottie, Oddball, Domino, Little Dipper, and Waddlesworth the parrot. Also Cruella returns in her live action look as well as Jean Pierre Le Pelt. These characters would remain till 2004 when they are retired. 2006 - the 101 Dalmatians characters return for the 50th anniversery of Disneyland, the Dearlys and their dalmatians appear on a themed float, interestingly enough all the known dalmatans appear on the float (Pongo and Perdita at the head, Lucky Two-Tone, Cadpig, Rolly, Patch, Dipstick, Wizzer, Jewel, Penny, Pepper, Fidget, Freckles, and Tripod are on the sides) Cruella along with Scorch, Vandella De Vil, Jasper, and Horace all appear with the villains. This would last till 2007 when the 50th anniversery is retired and most of the 101 Dalmatians cast with it (Pongo and Perdita remain in the holiday parade along with popular characters Lucky, Rolly, Cadpig, and Two-Tone) 2008 - 101 Dalmatians goes platinum, to celebrate the dalmatians return at full force at the park with a special parade with the characters from the movie. the series characters remain in the holiday themed parade. the parades continue till fall 2008 when Disney switches over to their Halloween decor. the movie 101 D chars are retired but the series characters remain 2011 - with Disney Junior to preview, 101 Dalmatians the series will be one of the shows on the channel, the series characters return to the park now with many of them walking about the park (Penny and Pepper at Tommorowland, Dipstick and Wizzer at New Orleans Square, Two-Tone and Lucky close to the Haunted Mansion, Cadpig and Rolly at Critter Country, Spot and Rebecca (making her debut) at Fantasyland (along with new villain Judge Dimsdale De Vil) Jewel, Tripod, Fidget, and Freckles at Frontierland (with Mooch appearing at random times), the dalmatians also appear in the holiday promotions (Lucky and Two-Tone along with Pongo and Perdita being around on valentines day, Cruella and Judge Dimsdale de Vil in the Halloween parade, and the dearly family in the christmas parade. This lasts for a long while till many of the chars are retired (including Jewel, Fidget, Freckles, Penny, Patch, Dipstick, Wizzer, Rebecca, Mooch, Spot, Judge De Vil, and Tripod) the remaining characters remain in the park. wow, just looking at this old idea of mine. and after a while. I'll have to add to it. 2018 - 101 Dalmatian Street makes it's debut on Disney+, to celebrate a new parade is made with the new dalmatians making their debut (Doug, Delilah, Dylan, Dolly, Dante, Dawkins (holding Princess Positron), Da Vinci, Deepak, DJ, Delgado, Triple-D, the Dimitrio, Diesel, Dizzy, DeeDee, and Dorothy), also meet and greets will begin with the new dalmatians, later on many of the side characters will show up including Hansel, Fergus, Big Fee, Sid, Portia, Spencer, Snowball, Roxy, Clarissa, Constantin, Summer, Chips, and Spike. Also Hunter de Vil will show up alongside Cuddles, and the 101 Dalmatian Street Cruella will show up as well.
