Okay, I noticed that there hasn't been much going on this section of the board lately, so I thought I'd make a new game for us to play here. It's called Lingo, and it's based on the game show of the same name.
It's a word game where you have to solve five-letter words on a 5x5 grid. To start off, the first letter of a five-letter word will be shown, and you have to guess a five-letter word that begins with that letter by saying the word and spelling it. After you guess and spell an acceptable word, letters will be marked in specific colors to indicate if any of them are in the correct word and if they are in the right place. If a letter is in the word, it will be in yellow. If a letter is in the word AND in the right place, it will be in red.
The person who gets the correct word gets to make the next puzzle. If the correct word is not solved after five acceptable guesses, one more row will be added to the word grid, and a bonus letter will be given, unless four letters of the correct word have already been put in the right place. If the correct word is not solved after that sixth acceptable guess, then the person who made that puzzle will reveal what the correct word is and make another one.
Any unacceptable guesses will not be shown in the puzzle. The unacceptable guesses are as follows:
*Guessing a word that has more or less than five letters
*Guessing a nonexistant word
*Saying a word but spelling it wrong
*Using a proper noun
*Guessing a word that has already been guessed on the same puzzle
*Guessing a word that does not begin with the given letter
*Guessing a word that uses punctuation marks, such as contractions
*Using a foreign word
If any of those happens, a bonus letter will be given if necessary.
That's how you play this game. I'll start us off with this puzzle:
