Just saw the movie. It was...alright. This isn't world beating or anything but its a fun popcorn flick. The aliens aren't shown as 'positively' as some of the early materials implied, they are villains and while they go out of their way not to kill most innoncents they do a good amount of damage.
And yes they actually did have spoof the famous line... "They ain't going to sink this battleship."

okay, thanks Race.
I just decided on The Dictator and it was pretty funny. Not to the level of Borat but it was funny.

So they made a Battleship movie, and now they're making a Monoploy movie. I guess that's the new fad with movies these days. They already made a Clue movie, but at least that one was plausible.

Okay, so Hasbro has made theatrical movies based on the board games: Battleship and Monopoly. All of us found those to be totally implausible considering they are based on board games. But if there is one game that is worthy of getting a movie, it's Candyland. At least that was a board game that actually had a plot and a cast of characters.
Here's how I think the plot should be: Two kids are sent to Candyland by King Candy and Queen Frostine. They asked them to go rescue their daughter, Princess Lolly, who has been kidnapped by the evil Lord Licorice and his sidekick, Gloppy. Along the way, they meet Jolly, Plumpy and Mr. Mint who join them on their quest, and they meet Grandma Nut who gives them helpful advice.
You see? That is something doable. I even came up with a fitting cast for it:
Christian Distefano as the Boy Kallan Holley as the Girl Alec Baldwin as King Candy Nicole Oliver as Queen Frostine Andrea Libman as Princess Lolly Charlotte Rae as Grandma Nut Danny DeVito as Plumpy Billy West as Jolly Michael Rapport as Mr. Mint Dan Castadena as Gloppy John de Lancie as Lord Licorice
How does that sound?
