It was the late morning. The Dr. Whittaker's pup, Pretzy was visiting. She had formed a social group for all the pups on the farm with disabilities. At this point, everyone had gathered.
Pretzy announced: "Hello. Welcome to my little social group. Now remember, we are not here to judge, we are here to make friends and help each other. So let's start out by having everyone one by one introducing yourselves and explaining what your disability is.
A small, blue-collared pup walked up first. "Hi," the pup said. "My name is Joey. I am a physically weak light-weight pup who is high-functioning autistic." He then stepped down allowing the next pup to introduce him/herself.

A pup with brown spots and a light blue collar took a deep breath and stepped forward. Faunie was not fond of crowds. Even this little group was a little hard - but she HAD to try! Maybe she would never be as social as any other pup, but some improvement in her social skills would be welcome. So she started, stuttering a little. "My name is F-faunie. I am autistic." She stepped down, glad it was over, waiting for the next pup to introduce themselves.

Then another pup stepped up in a dark red collar, the bottom halves of her ears black. She was definitely very nervous, even with this little group of others in her situation (or similar to hers.)
"I... I'm Chels.." she mumbled, her eyes locked to the ground "and.. I'm autistic" the female quickly sat back down after she spoke.

A small female Dalmatian pup in a dog wheelchair then wheeled herself forward. She wears a yellow collar and has three sun-shaped spots on her body; a white one on her left black ear, a black one on her right white ear, and a black one on her back.
"My name is Sunny," she said. "I'm very fragile, and I have a walking disability. I can move around better with this wheelchair, but I want good legs so I can stand, walk, and run like a normal pup."
She wheeled herself back, hoping that the help she is about to get will give her exactly what she wished for.

"Very good, everyone," Pretzy said. "Now that you have all introduced yourselves, I reccomend you go around and talk with anyone who intrigues you."
With that said, Joey approached the largest pup in the room, who was Chels. He looked up at her with sad puppy eyes smiling and gently wagging his tail.

Faunie stood there, being unsure. She absolutely disliked taking the first step... She walked around a little, hesitating.

As if things weren't nerve-wracking enough for Chels, while her eyes were still locked onto the ground she saw shadows of two paws. As she slowly moved her head up she took in the features of a pup who looked pretty similar to Lucky (in her opinion.)
"Um..." she twiddled her paws. Even if the other person appeared friendly Chels was still very shy and nervous. Unable to come up with words.

Sunny just stayed put on the spot she is currently at, moving her head left and right to find which pup to talk to first.
I hope these pups will like me when I start talking to them, she thought, remembering how much she got picked on for her walking disability by many other pups in the past before she arrived Dearly Farm for the very first time. I've had enough of being dejected just because I'm a fragile little girl with a walking disability. They're all just gonna have to accept it, whether they like it or not.
As she saw Chels and Joey facing each other so they can start talking, she went over to Faunie.
"Um...hello," she said quietly, waiting for a kind response.

"Hi," Joey said to Chels. "I'm Joey. It's nice to meet you. Did you say your name was...Chels? That's kind of an usual name. Is that short for Chelsea?"

Faunie nodded at Sunny, glad something was happening, at least. "Hello", she replied, thinking of what else she could say. She looked at the wheelchair. "It looks like a helpful piece of technology. Was it hard to get used to moving around with it?"

"Eh.. y-yes! It is..." The chubby female's eyes wandered. Despite Joey being nice to her, Chels was still very nervous.

Sunny looked down to see her wheelchair which Faunie just referred to.
"Yeah, it really is great, isn't it?" said Sunny, looking back up at Faunie again. "It does help me a lot, and it sure beats dragging my body on the ground and pulling myself forward with my front legs. It wasn't hard for me to move around in it at all. It felt great when I first got on it. But I'm hoping that I will soon have good legs so I can feel all four paws on the ground and have the strength to stand, walk, and run like a Greyhound."

Joey continued to speak: "You know, before the Dearly's adopted me, I used to have an older sister named Chelsea. She was a very sweet girl, and she used to give me piggyback rides a lot. Now that I think of it, I do miss her a lot. She understood me better than any other pup in the world. Living around so many pups who are not autistic and don't understand me has been quite difficult, but some of them have helped me to become more social."
Joey wondered if this large pup he was talking to was his long lost sister. He had some doubts, but it still could be possible.

Faunie nods. "I see! I'm so clumsy at times, I would probably cause accidents in such a thing... But yeah, there are some things you can't really do with a wheelchair. Jumping would be quite hard I think. And swimming's not that easy with metal wheels pulling you down either..." She then thought about how many problems she had with those things at first, with her clumsy legs and fear of the unknown. "But with practice, you might get better! At least you have the will to do these things."

"Ah.. th-that's interesting" Chels responded. Though she didn't ask for Joey's life-story, she did listen to be polite. "I.. I just.. live down the road."
