Here's hoping this is going to be good. I'm also hoping that as far as live-action film is concerned, Seth McFarlane fares like Mike Judge and not Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
I also thought it was kinda funny how Ted sounds like Peter Griffin.
Did anyone else notice that the lead female character is the same girl who voices Meg Griffin?

By the way, is Seth really canceling Family Guy?

They said they were at least doing 13 seasons, I think. Not sure.

"I'm also hoping that as far as live-action film is concerned, Seth McFarlane fares like Mike Judge and not Trey Parker and Matt Stone."
How so Trey? Has either of those others had a serious box office hit?
Judge scored a cult hit with "Office Space" but it failed at the box office originally while his later film "Extract" was also unsuccessful. "Idiocracy" is also a bit of a cult hit but it for the most part never screened in theaters.
Parker and Stone didn't hit it big with "Orgazmo" but that was due to getting burned with the X-esque NC-17 rating (watch the film and you'll wonder why). They scored a cult hit with "BASEketball" but they were only the lead actors in it, they didn't direct or produce. "Team America: World Police" was not really live-action but did make some money and is also a bit of a cult film.

Back in 1998 I remember watching a Canned Ham on Comedy Central which was about BASEketball and Trey and Matt both said "The game itself was actually very boring" and "If we were to be remembered for doing anything with our lives, we wouldn't want it to be this movie." I reported that to one of my co-workers and he said "Yeah I don't blame 'em".
I also remember they were a time hired to write a sequel for Dumb and Dumber but it wasn't going anywhere and eventually it became a hated prequel called Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd.

There's already talk of a sequel but I don't really see the point. Seth McFarland is almost certainly going to get to do another movie of some kind though, $54 million for a non-sequel comedy is massive...especially for a R-rated one that means no kiddies get to come.

I just got back from seeing this movie with my best friend, and we were laughing so hard at it!
I was a little nervous about seeing it because Seth MacFarlane's humor could vary sometimes. I love "Family Guy"'s humor, but "American Dad!" has no humor, and I've never seen "The Cleveland Show", but I'll bet that show's humor is bland. Thankfully, this movie's humor was on the level of "Family Guy", and that's why I loved it. So if you're a Family Guy fan, you'll love this movie!
Also, semi-spoiler, though it doesn't reveal much: my quirk was somewhat incorporated into this movie. Ted was shown riding on his girlfriend's shoulders for one small scene. Not that you guys would care, but I just thought I'd share that.

I went and saw this movie on the 4th of July. As said, It was so very good I think. I sure enjoyed it. $10.00 to get in to see the movie, then $9.21 for the small size of popcorn and drink, but hey I had a good time. Being it was the 4th there were only two other people in there watching besides me! I really like the thunder buddy song ;D Looking forward to when it comes out on DVD, as it's one I will get right away!
