I hope they throw some cool special features on it. To be honest I don't understand the purpose of converting older animated films to Blu-Ray, 101 was drawn and Xeroxed in the 1960s and isn't exactly something that lends itself to HD like live-action films do.

This is cool, but like Shad I don't have a Blue Ray either... though with technology I may wait til the "Blue Ray 2" or something better comes out XD

But, if this is true, why doesn't the release calendar for Blu-Ray Release dates include 101 Dalmatians here? I checked other websites for release dates and it didn't say that 101 Dalmatians will be released on Blu Ray here.

Do you have a PS3? That counts as a Blu Ray Player, you know? =3
Also, I somewhat agree with Race, there better be some good Special Features on it. What Features would you like to see?

I too am hoping there will be better special features than the DVD.
But wait a minute, bab. You didn't tell us WHEN it's getting released. This ad you are showing us could possibly be a fake.

You didn't tell us WHEN it's getting released. This ad you are showing us could possibly be a fake. Does this help you out? I was looking online yesterday and I came across a News Article that, On September 3rd this year, "One Hundred & One Dalmatians" will be given a Blu Ray Release! X3 Plus, if you had even bothered to so much as look at the article instead of going straight to the pessimism as you usually do, you would realise that it says right at the beginning September 3rd. With that being said, another source: www.blu-ray.com/movies/101-Dalmatians-Blu-ray/12236/And a contradictory source to keep the balance: disneyvault.net/?p=1895

I for one will see it to believe it. And I mean see it on the TV, not a news article.

I did read the article, but it said that's the date it's getting released in the UK. The other regions have no say in this. Also, this doesn't look like an official Disney article, and it doesn't seem very professionally-written, so it could be false.

Given the openly British setting (as opposed to say Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty which are just generic European) is 101 a more popular Disney film in England than in the USA? Same question for Sword in the Stone?
Seems like it would explain why the announcements are being made over there first.

Same question for Sword in the Stone? Seems like it would explain why the announcements are being made over there first. That has been my assumption for quite a while. Because I know the franchise had a severe lack of popularity and support, but bab (who lives in the UK) has been shoving so much evidence that it is extremely popular and that it's being praised like Jesus. I think it is very likely that the UK gives the franchise more support than the US.

Well, I just found out today that the movie is indeed getting released on Blu-Ray on September 3, but only in the UK. Why not the other regions? What's wrong with them? Now I'm going to be very upset. Bab is going to get his own Blu-ray of the movie, and I'm not; he's gonna be all happy about it and get the opportunity to rub my nose into it!
