It's that time that only comes around 4 years, the Summer Olympics, this year in London, England, UK.
What's everybody think? Is everyone ready? What are the sports you like to watch?

I love watching this. I practice shot put and discus toss at my school, and I always enjoy people doing that kind of things. Long jump is pretty cool, too. I'm pretty excited for this. ^^,

Well, I remember Race asked me if I was going to was a DW episode "Fear Her", since that was set at the Opening Ceremony...Although, it was voted the worst episode of the 2006 Series...yes, even beating "Love & Monsters". So, I'll put a maybe. Although, I have seen the "Good As Gold", written by School Chilren short.
Speaking of DW, Matt Smith was in a show about an old Olympic Rower tonight.
I am not sure what I do with the Olympics, since I am not really a sport type. I know some people who will watch the Wimbledon Tennis matches.
Some people consider it a giant advert too, let's hope the sports are all good.
Any sports you Pups looking forward to?

Cycling would probably be my favorite (are they doing the off-road BMX stuff again, I missed that on its debut in 2008?) but I'll tune in on-and-off for various sports with whatever is on (rowing is fun, fencing is pretty neat, lots of cool sports you normally don't get on TV for the Olympics). It's fun to have an international competition like this every four years and I have a feeling these games could be more fun than the Beijing ones as I feel there's not as much of an "Us vs. Them" mentality this time around.
Can't wait to see opening ceremonies Friday, it probably won't top all that wild stuff they did last time but it won't be as fake either. I enjoy watching British programs so it should be quite a show. (I imagine they won't attack the audience with a demonic force sheltered in a small child like they did on 'Doctor Who' but you never know, this is Britain.)
The games actually started today with some soccer matches (they play a tournament and need extra time to get both the men's and women's events in).

Well, The Opening Ceremony is underway.
So far, they had Industrial Revolution make the Olympic rings, before Daniel Craig as James Bond meets the Queen and the two Parachute into the Stadium. o.o
Now, we got the Doctors and Nurses of St. Almond Street Hospital doing a Jazz Number. o.o
And greaty news! They are paying homage to British Literature and...I saw Cruella! They made a "101 Dalmatians" reference at the Opening Ceremony! 83
Still, looks good.
Any Pups seeing it?

Just watched the opening ceremony myself and yeah there was an extended 101 reference. Part of the show was a salute to the British health network and all the fine children's litature that has come out of the country with a child's dream being invaded by Cruella, the Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook and Voldemort before an army of Mary Poppins fly in to save the day. In addition to an inflatable of Cruella there were several dancers dressed in dalmatian makeup, they were breakdancing later in the segment.
Overall a good show, started slow but was good overall. Rowan Atkinson's 'Chariots of Fire' parody was priceless. They even snuck in a Doctor Who reference, I heard the TARDIS sound effect during the 1970s music segment of that love story / salute to the internet.
Best part indeed was the Queen and Daniel Craig in character as 007. Was the parachute enterance fictional? Yup. Was it totally badass? Oh yeah!

Well, In the Closing Ceremony, that has begun in the UK for the Olympic.
So far, we've had Timothy Spall as Churchill, Delboy & Rodney running from an Exploding OF&H van dressed as Batman & Robin and now Madness is singing; "Our House".
The set, I admit looks interesting.
Oooh, Madness Sax is wearing a Fez, as we all know, Fezes are cool. ;3
What you think, so far?

Closing ceremonies was fun, the music was good and there was some other cool stuff too with the human cannonball and the tightrope walker.
Best part was probably Eric Idle's musical number. "Always look on the bright side of life."
This was a fun Olympics. While it's an unofficial stat the United States led the medal count, HUZZAH! The hosting Brits had the fourth highest total, China put on a clinic in many of their events, it was a safe event all around, every country sent women athletes for the first time and several countries even won their first-ever medals (Grenada finally won one and it was a gold!)
Good show London.

I think the olympic flag was given to Rio De Janeiro just this morning (local time). Brazil's going to host the olympics at 2016. But still, London did a great job as the host in terms of safety. Job well done London.

Yeah, "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" was my family's fav part as well.
Although, I did like when Russell Brand did "I am the Walrus!". My sister phoned us, just so she could hear me say "Ggoo goo g'joob!"
For the first hour, we felt the singers were a bit...flat, but when Hour 2 came in, we actually got people who were able to sing!
A Bit too much concert, I would have liked to see more performances, like they had at the Opening Ceremony. Felt like on large Charity Concert. ^^;
What you Pups think?

OMG! I Love Eric Idle!! I laughed how he tried attempt to dance bollywood with Indian dancers around him XD. And the human cannonball stunt was the perfect way to end his astounding performance. Also I loved the John Lennon tribute, even my favourite song by him "Imagine" played. So wonderful, Paul McCartney opened the Olympics, whilst a tribute to John Lennon closed the Olympics. I also liked the Annie Lennox performed, it was so goth like, it was very interesting! It was such a memorable Closing Ceremony
