Here's my story for Vlad, Lupus, and Jocelyn. Now, those of you who've read least one of the fanfics involving Shaw, (or just his bio), know how he wants to kill Jocelyn and bring her pelt/carcass to his owner, so the guy will stop talking about a hunting trip in which, after killing 2 adult wolves, (Jocelyn's parents), he sees a young wolf in the distance, for a mere second, (Jocelyn). Shaw's tried 2 times already. Let's see if he can succeed in "'3rd Time's the' Harm".
-
One day, around the middle of Autumn/Fall, a few hours after sunrise, a rain shower was occurring over Gruteley and Dearly Farm. During the shower, a young, male German Shepherd pup-named Lupus- was laying down in the hay, scattered across the floor of the barn, waiting for the rain to stop, while reading one of his books. Nearby, a young female Gray Wolf pup-named Jocelyn- was just resting in the hay, also waiting for the rain to stop. An assortment of Dalmatians, including Lupus's friend, Vlad, were also waiting out the rain.
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Gruteley, a male, domestic, Irish Wolfhound was laying in the livingroom of the house he lived in, with his male owner-who was a hunter- near the warm fire. This Irish Wolfhound's name was Shaw. Twice has this Shaw gone to Dearly Farm, but not for a friendly visit. No, he went there, to kill and bring back the pelt/carcass of a young, female wolf pup that his owner once saw in the distance on a hunting trip. This wolf pup was none other than Jocelyn.
"Someday, I shall bring that wolf's pelt here." he said to himself. "Someday, but at least not now. Not during a rain shower."
A couple of hours later, the rain stopped, and, back at the farm, within minutes, the barn doors burst open and a large group of Dalmatian pups came running out of the farm.
However, only a few minutes after they came running out, and were about to split up to perform their own activities, an adult, female human, who went by the name of Nanny and lived with the Dearlys, called out, "Yoo hoo! Come and get it!
"
The large group of Dalmatian pups- as well as Lupus, Jocelyn, and a few other, non-Dalmatian quadrupeds- then raced to a tall, red building, known as the Chow Tower, where Nanny was calling from. As all the pups made it to the Chow Tower, inside the trough nearby, was a large amount of kibble that filled the whole trough, as this was the customary way the Dearlys fed the MANY pups who lived on the farm.
Jocelyn, Lupus, and all the Dalmatian pups, including Vlad, then began eating as much of the kibble as they could. Within 5 minutes, all the kibble in the trough was gone, and each of the pups had their fair share of it.
Once the kibble was gone, all the pups decided to go perform their individual activities. Vlad went into the barn to read one of his books. Jocelyn decided to just go relax in the open field. As for Lupus, he chose to take a nice stroll through the nearby woods, careful to not go too far in.
During his walk through the calm, and somewhat wet forest, Lupus came upon a nice, refreshing pond, whose water seemed crystal clear. Seeing this pond made Lupus lick his lips a little.
"I am a tad thirsty." he said to himself. He then walked up to the shore of the pond, and began to lap up some cool, refreshing water from it.
However, during the previous rain shower that occurred only hours ago, some of the liquid excess from a certain chemical- made by mad scientist, PH Devil- that evaporated and was mixed in with the fresh water. Therefore, when it rained, this liquid excess of the chemical, whose effected involved making the subject regress in age, was poured into the very pond that Lupus was drinking from.
After about 2 minutes, Lupus decided to stop drinking from the lake, for he was no longer thirsty, and began to make his way back to the farm.
Meanwhile, Shaw and his owner noticed that the rain had stopped.
Shaw then stood up and thought, "Perhaps, this time, I'll be able to get at Jocelyn. I won't be able to bring her pelt here, just by waiting here." He then walked up to the front door, and pawed at it a few times.
Shaw's owner looked over at Shaw and asked, "You want to go out again?" Shaw nodded in response. "Okay, but try not to come back with your whole body covered in blood."
Shaw nodded, understanding his owner, and stepped through the doggy door, and out onto the porch. He noticed that the ground was a bit wet from the rain, but ignored it, and began heading to Dearly Farm, which-from experience- he knew how to get to.
Back at the farm, Lupus had left the forest, and was back at the farm. About a minute later, after he was out of the forest, a tingling sensation spread over Lupus's fur, and caused him to stop in his tracks. He then looked down at his legs, and it suddenly seemed to him that he was shrinking gradually.
He instantly chose to cry out for help, but, when he spoke, only a yelp-like that of a puppy- came out. He wasn't shrinking, he was somehow being turned into a puppy.
After about another minute, the regression process ended, and Lupus was now a young German Shepherd puppy, about 1 1/2 of an inch smaller than his usual height. Fortunately, he could still think like his usual self, but there were a couple of side effects that he had yet to find out. "I've got to find a way to change myself back to normal." young Lupus thought. He then began to walk towards the barn, hoping that maybe someone inside the barn could help him.
However, as young Lupus began walking towards the barn, Shaw had arrived at Dearly Farm, for the 3rd time. He then sniffed the air, identified Jocelyn's scent, and followed it to Jocelyn, who was just walking around the barn, enjoying the sunlight.
Unfortunately for him, as Shaw got within 2 feet of her, Jocelyn could somehow sense Shaw. She then looked behind her, and recognized Shaw, who greeted her with a bit of a wicked grin, "Hehheh Long time, no see, dear. >=3" Jocelyn then gulped a bit, for she knew why Shaw was at the farm, and then dashed away from him as fast as she could. Shaw waited a second to give her a bit of a chance, and then pursued Jocelyn for the 3rd time.
As she ran, Jocelyn called out, "Help! Help! Somebody, help me!
"
Just as young Lupus was about to enter the barn, he perked his ears, and heard Jocelyn's cry for help.
"Sounds like Shaw's back.
" he thought. He then turned in the direction of the shout. "But wait, in this form and age, I couldn't possibly injure Shaw enough to make him weak and begin to bleed. He'd probably toss me around, and give me the same fate he has for Jocelyn." The mere thought of it, caused young Lupus to shake in fear. He then shook his head, and thought, "It doesn't matter. I must save Jocelyn. And I will, despite my age and size." He then began running in the direction of the shouts.
Within a few minutes, Shaw was able to corner Jocelyn against a tree. He then looked around, then back at Jocelyn, and assumed, with that wicked grin, "Seems like Lupus isn't here to save you, dear. So, now, I WILL be able to bring your pelt to my master. >=3" He then crept closer to her.
"Oh, someone please help!
" Jocelyn thought, as she began to shake and cry a bit.
Just then, a light, and somewhat high-pitched growling could be heard to Shaw's left. Shaw-who stopped at hearing the sound- and Jocelyn turned their heads in the direction of the growling, and saw, before their eyes, a young German Shepherd puppy, growling at Shaw.
Shaw didn't exactly know what was going on, until he noticed that this young puppy had pine green eyes, like Lupus. "Lupus? Is that seriously you?" he asked, chuckling a bit under his breath.
No response from the puppy came, except the growling, and a display of teeth, that weren't exactly as sharp as Lupus's usual set.
Shaw figured that this actually was Lupus, who he fought 2 times before, and couldn't help but begin to laugh, "Hahaha I can't believe it. The 2nd time I come here, Jocelyn is 2 1/2 inches smaller than me. Now, you're the one who's smaller. Haha XD Oh, this is just GREAT! You actually think you have a chance against me. HAHA"
Young Lupus just kept on growling.
"Well, there's no chance you have now, Lupus." Shaw told the puppy. "So, why don't you just sit there, like a good dog, and watch, as I dispose of your friend here. hehheh" He then stepped up to Jocelyn, extended a single claw on his fore right paw, and gently began to move it across Jocelyn's fur on her chin and cheeks, not to harm her, but to enjoy the moment and taunt Lupus.
Seeing Shaw do this to his old friend as a mere pleasure to himself, caused young Lupus to start growling even more, and almost seem like he had rabies. Young Lupus then pounced from where he was, aiming for Shaw's neck. However, due to his younger and weaker body, Lupus ended up landing next to Shaw's fore left leg.
Shaw watched as Lupus pounced. When he saw Lupus fail to get at his neck, and rather land right next to him, Shaw began to laugh even more. "HAHA X'D Oh, you are just, SO, pathetic, Lupus!" he chuckled. "You actually think that you are able to harm me now. HAHAHA"
Feeling embarrassed, and a bit foolish or pathetic, young Lupus lowered his head in shame and depression.
However, irritated at Shaw for laughing at poor, young Lupus, Jocelyn swatted away Shaw's fore right paw, and told him, "You have no right to laugh at him, Shaw!
He may be small, and young, but Lupus is brave!" Hearing this made Lupus raise his head a bit towards Jocelyn, and wag his tail a bit. "And at least, he is trying!
" Jocelyn added, as she swung Shaw with her fore right paw, claws extended, and caused some cuts and scratches to appear. Seeing this made Lupus smile a bit, and wag his tail more.
In response to being clawed by Jocelyn, Shaw moved his face a bit to the right, after she made contact, then looked back at her, and, with more of an angry expression, stated, "Why, you're gonna pay for that, dear.
" He then got ready to lunge his head forward, and sink his teeth into Jocelyn's neck or fur.
However, realizing that Shaw was gonna harm Jocelyn, young Lupus quickly decided to begin biting as hard as he could into Shaw's fore left leg, to prevent him from harming Jocelyn.
"Oww! That hurts!" Shaw cried out in slight pain. He turned his head towards young Lupus, and added, "Why, you little, weak, pup.
" He then kicked young Lupus aside with his fore left leg-claws extended a bit-, though it was a tad weakened.
When Shaw's leg made contact with young Lupus, the claws left some scratches on his forehead, and the force of impact sent him flying about a foot away. Due to his younger and more sensitive body, the kick, scratches, and landing injured Lupus quite a lot. Although, he was able to slowly get up.
But, when he got up on all fours, due to his injuries, and now full of fear of Shaw, young Lupus began to whimper.
"Hehheh Now, you're afraid of me. >=3" Shaw chuckled. "You should have just sat still and watched your friend die. But, now, you've ticked me off, so, you shall die." And with that, Shaw began approaching Lupus, though slowly due to his weakened fore left leg.
Jocelyn then suddenly got between young Lupus and Shaw. She then turned her head to Lupus and whispered, "Quick. Run away, Lupus. Don't worry, my young friend, I'll follow you."
Lupus nodded in response, and began running towards the barn, certain that there would be least a Dalmatian pup who could help him and Jocelyn.
A few seconds later, Jocelyn followed him, just as Shaw got within a foot of her.
Within half a minute, young Lupus and Jocelyn- who decided to gently pick up young Lupus in her jaws, when she caught up to him, and carry him like her mother did to her-made it into the barn, while Shaw was still a few yards away. Once inside, Jocelyn gently set young Lupus on the ground.
Once on the ground, Lupus then looked around at the interior of the barn, and recognized his friend, Vlad, nearby, reading one of his books. Lupus then ran up to Vlad, and yipped and barked.
This yipping caused Vlad-short for Vladimir- to stop reading, and lower the book. He then saw a young, male German Shepherd puppy, looking at him with puppy-dog eyes, and whimpering a bit. "Hey, little guy." he kindly stated. "What are you doing here?"
Jocelyn then walked up to Vladimir, who she knew, through spending her time on the farm, and greeted, though a bit exhausted, "H...Hi Vlad."
Vladimir looked at Jocelyn and replied, "Oh. Hi Jocelyn. Any chance you could tell me what this young puppy is doing here?"
"Well, actually, that young puppy is....Lupus." Jocelyn admitted. "Somehow, he became a little puppy, like I did once."
Vlad then looked back at young Lupus, and said, "Oh. I'm so sorry to hear that Lupus." He then began to gently pet young Lupus's head.
Young Lupus just kept on giving Vlad the sad, puppy-dog eyes, but he stopped whimpering as Vlad began to pet him.
"Since Lupus hasn't stopped giving me the sad eyes, I'm guessing that something is wrong, aside from Lupus being younger than he usually is?" Vlad assumed.
"Well, actually, yes." Jocelyn nodded. "You see, there's this one Irish Wolfhound just outside of the barn...." and she began to explain as briefly as she could to Vlad, what was goin' on. "...And it seems like, dear Lupus was hoping you could help us with this potential killer." she finished.
Just as she said this, Shaw stopped in front of the barn doors, and stated, "You can't hide in there, forever, you two. You'll have to come out eventually. Hehheh >=3"
Hearing Shaw made young Lupus begin to shake a bit, for he was now afraid of Shaw.
Vladimir heard Shaw's voice, and noticed that Lupus began to shake in fear. He then said to Jocelyn and Lupus, "Okay. I will help you. But, first, now that you're in here, say 'sanctuary' three times. Just trust me."
Young Lupus then tried to say sanctuary three times, but all that came out were three yips. Jocelyn translated to Vlad, "I'm assuming that was 'sanctuary' three times." Vlad nodded, accepting it. Jocelyn then said, "Sanctuary, sanctuary, sanctuary."
"Good," Vladimir replied after she repeated it. "Now, just stay in here, and I'll take care of Shaw." He then set his book down, got up and began walking towards the barn's entrance.
Jocelyn and Lupus then sat next to the entrance, against the wall, and began to peek from inside the barn, to see what might happen.
Once he was outside, Vlad approached Shaw with a somewhat dark, and slightly intimidating look. "If you wish to leave this place without any more scratches and cuts, I suggest you leave now." Vladimir warned him.
"Who are you? Whoever you are, this doesn't concern you. So, I can leave whenever I want." Shaw replied.
"My name is Vladimir, but my friends call me Vlad." Vladimir answered. "And, seeing as how Lupus and Jocelyn are two of my friends, this DOES concern me. This is your last chance. Leave now, and you won't bleed more than you do now."
"And who's honestly gonna stop me?" Shaw replied. "There's no chance you, a Dalmatian pup an inch smaller than me, could possibly bring me as much pain as that wolf pup, and German Shepherd pup, have brought me."
"Really?" Vladimir questioned. "Then let's test this prediction of yours." And with that, he made sudden jumps to the left and right, back and forth, trying to confuse Shaw a bit.
Though Shaw was trying to focus on Vladimir, this back and forth motion of his adversary made him a bit dizzy and confused. "Ohh, stay still, and attack already!" he commanded, as he began to become more confused.
"Very well." Vlad responded. He then pounced at Shaw from his rear, left flank, and clawed him in the left side. He then made a backwards jump away from Shaw right after he clawed the Wolfhound.
"Gah! You're gonna pay for that!
" Shaw threatened, as he bent down a bit, from the pain. "However, now it's my turn." He then suddenly took a running start for Vlad, which caught the Dal somewhat surprised. When Shaw got within reach, he pounced upon Vladimir, pinning him to the ground, and began to claw at Vlad's head several times, and was about to lunge his head downwards towards the neck, when Vlad used his rear legs to force Shaw off of him, and about a foot away.
Vlad then got up on all fours, and stated, a bit amused by Shaw's attack, "It seems that this will be quite a fight. Heh" The two then kept on fighting.
Meanwhile, Jocelyn and Lupus were watching the battle for a while, until Vlad pushed Shaw off of him. Then, knowing that Lupus was younger than his usual self, Jocelyn insisted that they watch no more of the two fighting. Young Lupus then nodded in agreement, and walked away from the entrance, over to where Vlad was just sitting.
As he sat down, young Lupus suddenly felt pain on his forehead and his legs. A few of the scratches on his forehead-from when Shaw harmed him-began to drip blood a bit, and his legs were bruised from the force of impact and landing. He then began to whimper a bit from the pain.
Jocelyn then calmly suggested, "Here, little one, let me ease the pain, for you.
" She then laid next to Lupus, who was 1 1/4 inches smaller than her, and began to gently lick the scratches on his forehead, disposing of some of the blood from his fur, and cleaning the wound.
Feeling her soft, caressing licks upon his scratches, made young Lupus stop to whimper, as he began to calm down and smile a bit.
After the scratches stopped bleeding, and she was sure the pain was dormant enough to not be felt, Jocelyn calmly told young Lupus, "Now that that's finished, why don't you come here, dear, and lay against me, and rest?
"
Lupus nodded in response, and then walked over to Jocelyn, and gently laid down against her soft, warm fur. Within a few seconds, young Lupus began to fall asleep.
Meanwhile, as Lupus fell asleep, Vlad and Shaw were both able to cause a few more scratches upon the other during their fight.
"This is ridiculous! I come here to just kill a wolf pup, and I have to deal with both a German Shepherd AND a Dalmatian?!
" Shaw exclaimed, as he was panting a bit. "I've had enough of this!" And with that, he made a few left and right jumps, before suddenly pouncing towards Vlad, with his jaws wide open, aiming for the neck.
However, Vlad then swung Shaw, hard in the face, with his fore right paw, claws extended, as the Wolfhound got within reach. This swing not only caused Shaw to be forced at least a foot away to Vlad's left, but it also left another scar on his face, parallel to the former one from his last visit. Now, he was really bleeding, and injured.
Vlad, who was also panting, and bleeding, then stepped up to Shaw, who was able to get up on his belly, and slightly turn towards Vlad. Shaw then eyed Vladimir and insisted, showing his teeth, "Go ahead. Kill me. Hehheh You've won, now kill me, if you want. Heh >=3"
Vladimir just looked at him, and replied, "I am not going to kill you. Someday, you will face your demise for what you've done already, but not today, and not by me. Now then. GO HOME, for you're already weakened enough. Anymore cuts like that last one, and you'd bleed to death." Vladimir then turned around, and began walking towards the barn.
As Vlad made it halfway to the barn, Shaw was able to get up on all fours, but he was too weak to pounce upon Vlad. Instead, he told Vladimir, "Hehheh Fine. I'll go home. But someday, SOMEDAY...hehheh I WILL kill Jocelyn, and bring her carcass to my master, even if I have to kill you, and Lupus. Hehheh >=3" He then turned around, and began walking back home, almost half of his cuts bleeding.
Once he made it inside the farm, Vladimir eyed Jocelyn, who was still awake, and informed her, "Shaw is leaving now. He won't bother you anymore, least for the rest of the day, or perhaps the week."
Jocelyn then smiled at Vladimir, then gently nuzzled young Lupus, who was still asleep, trying to gently wake him up. "Wake up, young Lupus." she softly spoke. "Shaw's gone, and Vladimir took care of him.
"
After a few nuzzles, young Lupus began to wake up, and heard what Jocelyn had said. He then looked at Vlad, wagged his tail, smiled, and yipped two times.
"If I'm not mistaken, hehe, that was supposed to mean, "Thank You", Vlad.
" Jocelyn giggled. "And I agree with Lupus. Thank you, for saving us, Vlad.
"
"Heh Don't mention it." Vlad replied. He then walked over to where his book was, but fell heavily upon the hay, due to his injuries.
Young Lupus could tell that his friend was injured, and suddenly got up from where he was, and quickly walked over to Vladimir's side, and began to lick the wounds that he could reach.
Jocelyn just watched Lupus as the young German Shepherd puppy, licked the cuts and bruises. "Hehe It seems that young Lupus is trying to heal you and help ease the pain.
" she giggled.
Lupus kept on licking the cuts, scratches, and bruises, until no more blood dripped out from the cuts. Vladimir was then able to sit up. He looked at his young friend, smiled, and stated, "Heh Thanks, Lupus.
"
Lupus smiled at Vladimir, and wagged his tail, in happiness, knowing that his two friends, Jocelyn and Vlad, were both safe, and no longer feeling pain. Just then, a tingling sensation spread across Lupus's fur. Lupus then thought, "It looks like whatever caused me to regress in age, is no longer effective.
" He looked down at his legs, and noticed that he started to grow in height.
After about a minute, Lupus was back to his original height and age. He then looked at Vlad and Jocelyn, and told them, "Thanks, for protecting me, you two.
"
"Hehe You're welcome, Lupus.
" Jocelyn smiled.
"Heh Don't mention it, Lupus." Vladimir added. "But, now that that's over with, I think I'll resume reading my book."
"..Mind if Jocelyn and I lay next to you, as you read, Vlad?" Lupus asked.
"Of course, you may, Lupus. Heh
" Vlad replied, as he picked up his book, sat against the wall, and resumed reading. Jocelyn and Lupus then walked over to Vlad, and laid down on the hay on opposite sides of him, a few inches from him to give him room. The three of them were now safe, and no longer feeling any pain.
Meanwhile, about an hour later, Shaw returned to his home, made his way onto the soft carpet of the living room, and fell heavily upon it. Shaw's owner noticed this, and the several claw marks and scratches upon his body, as well as the blood. He then rushed to the phone, and called the vet to come over and heal his loyal, obedient dog, for a 3rd time.
The vet then drove to the house, and underway to healing and cleaning all the cuts, scratches, and injuries Shaw acquired. The vet was able to heal all of them, and was certain that they should all heal, except for the mark that Vlad had finished the fight with, which was parallel to the first mark caused by his previous visit to the farm.
Having finished her job, and told Shaw's owner all she could tell about the injuries, the vet drove off. Shaw's owner then looked down at Shaw-who was now laying on the carpet near the warm fire- and stated, "You are one interesting dog, Shaw. How you come back home, covered in scratches, is quite a mystery to me, like that wolf figure in the distance I saw."
Shaw just thought in response, "It's far from a mystery to me. And, I WILL bring Jocelyn's pelt home to show him the conclusion of that mystery, and end this constant chatter about that event. Mark my words, Jocelyn, Lupus, and Vladimir, I WILL bring Jocelyn's carcass here, EVEN IF IT KILLS ME!" And with that, he lowered his head onto the carpet, and quickly fell asleep.

The End
-
Indeed, it is rather long, but it's about the only tale I cud easily think up.
