Dirt ovals are a staple of American auto racing and have been since inter combustion and sports were first combined but a major NASCAR race hasn't been held on one since 1970. In 2013 that will change... www.nascar.com/news/121128/2013-truck-schedule-released/index.html...We're going old school, the Truck series is offically going to race at ELDORA!!!

Canadian Tire Motorsports Park is the new name for the road course up in Canada that used to be called Mosport, great track. In the past it hosted the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix and the World Sportscar Championship, now we are going to race pickups there! The Truck series needs more road course races, I'd pay money to see them run Heartland Park Topeka again.
The one-off at Daytona is to make sure the Trucks have their spot in Speedweeks. I think the gap is to shorten the season a bit, the Trucks are a lower tier and racing almost every week for months and months could bankrupt a team or two.
