It's good to see this has been revived again, I would have to say this is a good idea about having a curious Female but yeah, this is just my opinion, but like said, either way is good, we can either focus on the main Dals or the female pup.

Eh.. I vote no on a contest :V well, me participating anyway since most the ones I entered ended up being rigged >>; why not just the comic artist(s?) try to come up with a design together or etc.

I can understand what you mean, Nemo.
I have a name for the Pup in mind, anyone willing to volunteer on their physical design?

Okay, I am not going to start drama here, but I am still against this whole idea with Smudge. It's sounding like you want this whole comic to be about her, and it's really starting to defeat the whole purpose of this project. It just sounds to me like you're taking a completely different direction and make it completely unrelated to 101 Dalmatians, not just the cannon universe, but our fan universe as well. I'm not going to continue discussing it here, because I just know it'll only start drama. If anyone wants to discuss this further with me, you'll have to PM me.

I can assure you, it won't be all about this new Pup.
Like said; she's mainly meant to represent the reader as they are introduced. The reader meets all the Dals as she meets them, so their introductions feel natural instead of them saying; "As you know..." Exposition doesn't work when it's between characters who are suppose to already know that.
It is going to be about all the Pups and not just her. Need some stories for comics outside introductions.
Any suggestions, Pups?

Hmmmmmm......well, I can give you some ideas. Speaking of ideas, you gave me one just now! How about for the first few comics with Smudge, we can have each person involved in this project to come up with one comic for the saga. Here are the rules I reccomend if you like this idea: 1. Only one story per person. 2. The story needs to be one page long, and not a chapter-based epic story. 3. Do not use any Dalmatian characters (cannon or OC) because they are not introduced yet. That sound good?

That sound good? Firstly, I strongly dislike the name Smudge. I'm not going to explain but associates with something unpleasant in my mind. Firstly what is the point of these rules? Why only one comic per person? Why should we restrict people like that for no reason? Why only one page? You can't tell a story in one page. You can do a little newspaper comic style thing in one page but that isn't what this project is supposed to be. Also, why restrict people for no reason? What? It's a 101 dalmatians comic. Why shouldn't we introduce the characters in them?

1. We've got a lot of people in on this project. If we had them do multiple comics, the Smudge saga would be way too long, and it'll be a very long wait until we get to the actual Dalmatians on the farm.
2. It's a Webcomic. All webcomics are one page long. Have you ever seen any webcomics?
3. Isn't it obvious? The Dalmatians are all living on the farm! Smudge doesn't live on the farm, and this saga shows her journey to the farm. Seriously, General, weren't you in with bab on this whole idea?
General, you seriously need to chill out dude. This is not something worth getting so worked up over.

This is not something worth getting so worked up over. I don't think you understand what Smudge is supposed to be. The very first story in the comic starts with her reaching the farm... the story is about the dearly farm and the dalmatians on it. No, I haven't seen any webcomics, but I also don't follow formulas just because it is formula. All webcomics are one page long doesn't mean this one has to be. As I said, the webcomic is about her arrival at the farm. The entire point of Smudge is to introduce the farm and the dalmatians on it. I'm not worked up. You're just perceiving my messages that way.

I agree with General on this one, Belchic, here is three reasons why
1. If we done one story per person then it would be a really short series.
2. If we wanted to do a three story panel then I can see doing this, but Belchic, this would bore a fan of the series than letting them enjoy it, cause this would be too short.
3. Are you saying you would like this to be a prequel to the Films and the TV series, Belchic? Cause this is the only reason I would see that working out, besides I like the idea to introduce our characters along with the Canon Characters, I don't see why they don't deserve the spotlight as well Belchic.

I see that there is a total misunderstanding between both of us here.
First of all, I thought the first few comics were going to be about Smudge adventuring and eventually making it to the farm. This is why I was so against the idea in the first place. But I see the farm will actually be introduced in the first comic.
Second, the one comic per person rule was made strictly for the Smudge Saga alone, not the whole comic series.
So in a nutshell, screw my idea. The pieces seem to be coming together rather nicely right now.

So am I. And to think that I thought the first 5 to 12 comics were going to be about Smudge wandering the streets of Grutely or something! I must ask you something though, Stirfry. Why are you so against the name, Smudge? I see no harm in it.

Belchic Well when I see the name Smudge it makes me think of the feeling of having a sore nose from wiping it too much when I have a cold.
