Thought I'd start a thread incase anybody wants to discuss their favorite Major League Baseball teams.
I'll get the ball running with this, the Dodgers are running away with the NL Western Division.

Ah so the "Big Blue Wrecking Crew" is back huh. Nice to see the Dodgers back on track for ya. Now if only the Angels would suck it up and quite pretending they are in LA.
I root for the Detroit Tigers and we've got a great team so far but it's the playoffs I'm worried about. The Tigers have been in two World Series since 2006 and tanked both. We've to make a run this year and complete the job. Our owner Mike Ilitch, the founder behind the Little Caesar's Pizza chain (and the leader behind the NHL's Detroit Red Wings success), wants to win the World Series and will spend the money to do it but he's 84 and time is running out...

TT's a Dodgers fan, I'm a Tigers fan. Surprisingly both have Gibson won a title with the Tigers in 1984, our last to date, when he helped the team prevail over the San Diego Padres including this blast into the upper deck at old Tiger Stadium that won the title for Detroit... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qyj3cQswM2UFour years later in 1988 Gibson had moved on to play for the Dodgers and was hurt when the team made it to the World Series. Still, while he couldn't run, he pinch hit in the bottom of the ninth (2 out) in game 1. With no way to help any other way Gibson pulled out a homer to carry the Dodgers to series-opening victory, he didn't play the rest of the series but the momentum led the LA boys to a title, their last to date... www.youtube.com/watch?v=0toCMwEBwLo...Note the car brake lights in the background, a bunch of fans were leaving early to beat the traffic figuring the game was over and missed Gibson's big series changing moment.

Shame about the Angels, all that money and talent and they just couldn't do much. Mixed with the fact Albert Puljos is out for the season with a torn ligament in his foot.
That Gibson moment and the 88 World Series win for the Dodgers will be 25 years old in October, just in time for the Dodgers to possibly return to the series 25 years later and hopefully ending that long drought.
also of note Dodger announcer Vin Scully did the broadcasts for both the 84 and 88 world series games (he also did the 86 world series which had the infamous game 6 10th inning win for the New York Mets over the Boston Red Sox on an error by Bill Buckner on a grounder by Mookie Wilson which allowed Ray Knight to score the winning run to deny Boston the championship)

Okie, just here to tell you that the Atlanta Braves are the NL East Champs! I should've said that earlier but I just found this thread. haha. And if you haven't figured it out, my favorite team are the Braves.

The Dodgers were in the World Series last year. They didn’t win, but it would be cool if they made it again this year.

Seasons about to begin for everyone but the Mariners and A's (their season began a couple days ago in Tokyo). Go Tigers! I see I am not alone rooting for them, as racefanx is a Detroit fan too.
