Yuuup! As the title implies, this is a thread where you can find all my 101D characters... all in one! That's right! For the price of one thread, you get an entire set of cute little doggies, all at the click of a finger!
Over time, I'll update this thread to add more information - be it new characters, extra information, or anything else of that nature. For a start, I've made a full picture reference of all my characters who are related to the 101D fandom. (Muddy is the only one who exists both in and out of the 101D universe, since outside of it she's my fursona. Yeah... fursona! I actually have a fursona, holy cheese! -spazzes out of excitement-) The rest are all characters created specifically and specially for 101D fandom and its happy-go-lucky atmosphere... er, or so we would hope, most of the time. I've also written down tiny little biographies with very general information about the characters, although at some point I might add onto them if I'm not too lazy.
ANYWAY. Here is an updated reference picture of all their designs, nice and pretty and up-to-date : Group Picture

Growlie – F – Dalmatian/German Shepherd
Personality: Growlie is a fun loving, happy go lucky pup. Much of life is a game to her which makes her a fun pup to be around – and Growlie is definitely the kind of dog who will find the fun out of anything. On the dark side, she is incredibly naïve, leading her to be easily manipulated, which also tends to lead her into trouble. Despite that, she always has good intentions and doesn’t usually notice when she’s doing something wrong. She is extremely lovable and has a lot of energy – so much in fact, that Growlie has to engage in a lot of physical activity every day to keep herself from having insomnia at night (in which case the only way to put her to sleep is to run off the energy, or country music!). She absolutely loves to run and is extremely fast, probably outrunning most average pups due to her strong, long legs and endless energy. She loves participating in the Bark Brigade but has been known to annoy some pups and animals due to her stimulating personality.
History: Growlie and Ginger were both adopted from the same litter by the same man. The two of them lived together in their early puppyhood with their old master – a lumberjack by trade. Both were trained by their old master to become guard dogs, but Growlie didn’t take the training very well. Guarding wasn’t engaging enough as an activity and she always found herself choking herself at the end of her chain with the desire to run free in the fields. Things changed for Growlie and Ginger when they were stolen by Cruella’s henchmen, but because Ginger’s brown tail was so out of place, and would have “ruined” Cruella’s spotted coat, she dumped Ginger, who then went back for Growlie. The two of them ran separately from the other stolen puppies and were not counted as part of the stolen 99, because no one knew about them. Both Growlie and Ginger travelled together through the wicked snowstorm and eventually found their way to the Dearly’s later, but knew they were a long way from home. Because Growlie was so enthusiastic about staying at the Dearly’s residence, they eventually became official residents and settled in along with the others.
Ginger – F – Dalmatian/German Shepherd
Personality: With a live-wire like Growlie for a sister, Ginger often seems much more laid-back in comparison. Not quite as extraverted as her sister, Ginger usually won’t go out of her way to make friends, and often meets a lot of pups through Growlie. She prefers to have close friends, and has an especially close relationship with a pup named Doc. The German Shepherd heritage of Growlie and Ginger is a lot more prominently seen in Ginger in both appearance and personality. Ginger’s strength is nothing to turn a blind eye to; she has incredibly strong jaws, and has had them since puppyhood which had earned her the name “Ginger Snaps”. Luckily, Ginger unleashes the true power of this jaw strength only rarely, and usually only to protect a loved one from danger. She is very protective and responsible, and is usually good with being in a leadership position (although it’s said she can be a little bit bossy!). Despite this, she likes having alone time each day, as much as she likes the company of close relationships like Growlie and Doc. With pups she’s close to, she can be a little satirical and enjoys playful teasing, although to the majority of pups who don’t share a close relationship with her, she might seem kind of lofty or intimidating (but deep inside she’s actually very sweet).
History: Ginger, like Growlie, lived with her old master in a cabin by the woods before the two of them were kidnapped, then forced to run together, separately from the other puppies after Ginger ended up as a “reject” for Cruella’s fur coat. During their travels, Ginger often looked after Growlie, just as she had done back home. Unlike Growlie, Ginger had the true instincts of a guard dog and applied the lessons she learned from their master to protect and care for Growlie when they were on their own. Because of this, Ginger assumed the role of “big sister” to Growlie although there is likely no age difference between the two. And although Ginger loved their old master, she decided to stay at the Dearly’s with Growlie after they stumbled across it – at least temporarily. Over time – though it took a little longer for Ginger – she found a place for herself on the farm and doesn’t think all too much about going back to her old home anymore.
Arne – M – Dalmatian
Personality: Within groups of puppies or canines, Arne is usually a social outcast. This could be due in part to his 24/7 addiction to flying, and his tendency to act like a bird (earning him the nickname “Birdbrain” among those who abhor him). It’s not known whether Arne is actually delusional enough to think he’s a bird or if he simply desires to be one, but some pups have claimed that he seems to be aware of his canine biology but simply doesn’t enjoy anything about being a dog. When speaking with others, Arne’s speech could be described as something of a word salad – although he has a tendency to drop in a big or interesting word from time to time, it’s the way he speaks that usually catches others off guard. His sentence structures are spoken as if he doesn’t take the time to organise his thoughts but simply rambles on, often in an order of words that doesn’t completely make sense. That being said, some find him a bit difficult to converse with or listen to at all. Arne also doesn’t seem to care about any other interests outside of flying, birds, or anything else of that nature. He will often ignore other pups if they become uninteresting to him, and sometimes even remark something that sounds unkind, which has lead him to have a reputation of being rude, although Arne doesn’t mean it – he just speaks what comes to his head. He also doesn’t really seem to care that others don’t really like him and he very rarely gets lonely. Despite this, he’s made good friends with Spot the chicken and the two will hang out every once in a while, but not a lot. He’s known to jump off buildings bravely without any regard for his own safety.
History: Arne was born in Frankfurt, Germany. As soon as he turned 8 weeks of age, he was scooped up by an English business woman who took him home with her to her flat in London. He never socialised with his brothers and sisters, so it’s uncertain if he remembers any German terminology from his younger days – but even after coming to London with his new owner, he very rarely got the chance to socialise with other canines outside of evening walks, where he seemed to show a disinterest in other dogs. Most of the day, he was trapped inside the flat without much to do; for some time, he would attempt to read magazines left on the counter (where he got a grasp on language) – and would stare out the window from the couch endlessly, where he would watch birds flying overhead, and eventually he became determined to fly just like them. For weeks afterward, he would jump off couches and tables in attempts to take flight, and believed with enough practice he would get good enough. Like legions of other spotted canines in the London area, Arne was kidnapped pretty early on as one of the infamous 99 stolen dalmatian puppies. Even there, he didn’t socialise much with the others, and when he did talk to them, he just came off as weird or awkward – Arne didn’t mind, though. When he was eventually brought to the Dearly Farm along with the others, Arne found an old flying cap in a box Roger was unpacking upon arrival to their new home. Roger let the enthusiastic pup keep the flying cap for himself, and he’s continued to wear it since.
Trevor – M – Dalmatian
Personality: Trevor is a very nice and sweet pup who only really wants to feel acceptance from others; unfortunately, he nor his struggles are very well-known to many others on the Dearly farm. This is due mainly to Trevor being deaf by birth, a deficiency that has made it difficult for him to communicate with other puppies or animals in general. Over time, however, he has learned to adapt to his surroundings in a variety of ways. Trevor is quite good at reading lips, and uses his own specialised kind of sign language to try to communicate his thoughts to others. He also has a very sensitive sense of touch and can discern a lot from the tremors he feels in the ground, including emotions and what type/size of animal is making the footsteps he feels. He is also quite used to being alone, but prefers to be in the company of others, even if he’s just sitting around idly and watching them interact (he learns a lot about their behaviours and tendencies, too). When he is left on his own, however, he enjoys dragging a small bongo from Roger’s music room and playing it down by Hiccup Hole when no one else is around, as it brings forth a sort of peace and tranquillity to him.
History: From the beginning, Trevor always felt himself an outcast among others. He was born completely deaf, and as such, was slower at learning than his littermates. At first, his parents and siblings thought he was just really inattentive and quiet – until he went to the vet and his inability to hear was confirmed. Even after this discovery, life was still hard for Trevor, who could never figure out how to communicate with his siblings, and was often left out of their games. As such, he became used to spending time alone, although he’s always deeply desired companionship. When Trevor and his littermates were kidnapped, his siblings managed to escape, but no one came back for Trevor. During his stay with the other stolen puppies, he learned to detect other puppies by feeling the vibrations of their footsteps through the ground. He also learned to observe their behaviours and read their lips, and although he was always in the rear during their escapades, he found his way to the Dearly’s along with the others. It wasn’t until Trevor had spent quite some time alone on the farm when he followed some other puppies into Roger’s music room – and was introduced to his passion for the drums. He didn’t need to hear in order to feel the different vibrations and rhythms, and soon it became one of his favourite activities to do when left all on his own. Eventually, he found a small bongo that he would borrow from Roger and take outside with him to play near Hiccup Hole, when no one else was around.
Muddy – F – Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier
Personality: Muddy is a small beagle mix with a big love for the world. She has no relation to the Dalmatian puppies at the Dearly Residence but has been known to visit there quite often, and even settle down for a few days before returning to her “adventures”. Although to many pups on the farm, she seems like an extremely brave and adventurous little dog, Muddy actually spends most of her time in the outlying forests doing little more than enjoying life’s simplicities and philosophising on life on Earth and its relation to the great big universe. Despite that, she does get herself into quite a number of scuffles; after all, a little dog makes a good snack for larger animals and she always has to be on her toes and ready to defend herself (usually with the help of her trusty fork, or other objects she finds that she uses to her advantage). She also hunts for herself, usually small things like rabbit and fish which she usually cooks over a small campfire and eats with the same fork. Muddy has an incredible self-awareness and heightened senses, but is fairly socially awkward, and this awkwardness is usually seen when she communicates with other puppies like the ones on the Dearly Farm. She’s not too good at keeping close relationships, as she’s usually at the farm one day and gone the next, but still attempts to get to know some of the pups on the farm regardless. Although she doesn’t show it, she is actually rather insecure, but she prefers to keep such parts of her personality enshrouded in mystery.
History: Muddy usually doesn’t have much to say about her past, especially since she believes in leaving behind old ways to make way for new adventures. It was her own love for nature and travelling that led her to occupying the rural areas near the Dearly residence. She was especially fond of the forest, and although it was the nature that originally led her there, she admittedly also enjoyed the rush of adrenaline of the “eat or be eaten” rules of nature. It was during her travels and experiences that she had learned to be tactful and versatile and sharpened her senses of hearing and smell. She learned to be quite good at using resources available; in the first few days of living alone, she watched as a grizzly bear chased away a group of humans on a picnic – and took both the picnic blanket and a fork for a keepsake. The picnic blanket provided her with warmth, and later on she ended up chewing it up and shaping it into a bandana since the blanket was too bulky to drag around. The silver fork became a means of defence to protect herself from larger animals in the forest, because her aim was better and the fork’s tines were oftentimes sharper than her own small teeth. Although Muddy loves adventure, and doesn’t mind solitude, she often enjoys taking a break from that life from time to time– which is what eventually brought her to Dearly Farm. Although the Dearlys had offered to adopt her, Muddy prefers not to live there. She doesn’t really “belong” anywhere or to anyone, but rather makes the entire world her home (that being said, she is not a fan of city life). She pops in to visit other pups at the Dearly farm often, and may even stay there for a few days to a week, but always leaves again on early mornings without notifying anyone.
PJ (Pudge) – M – Chick
Personality: PJ (aka: Pudge) is a chick who was seemingly “adopted” by Growlie, and since then has been known to hang around Growlie and her friends. Even at birth, he was larger than most of his siblings and is actually regarded as being really popular and doted on among the other chickens. Despite that, he seems to prefer hanging with dogs as he enjoys living life on the edge. For a chick, he has an incredibly competitive nature and is very good at knowing what he wants, and figuring out means of getting them. That being said, his means of acquiring what he wants aren’t always acceptable to the pups, but when they specifically ask him to try to find friendlier ways of doing things, he will usually do so in order to stay on their good side. Over time, he has developed a strong bond with Growlie despite their enormous personality differences, but some may argue that’s why the two of them make such a good team.
History: PJ was born along with several other chicks from within the Dearly Farm residence, where he has lived much of his short life as a chick. Within his immediate family, he is the only male among four sisters – and among most of the chicks on the farm, he is the largest in size and is often seen as the alpha chick because of that – that, plus, his naturally competitive nature doesn’t often go ignored (most of the chickens predict he’ll grow up to be the lead rooster on the farm when the old one retires). PJ forged an especially strange bond with one of the Dalmatian puppies on the farm – Growlie. At first he found it easy to manipulate her by hanging around and having her carry out tasks for him, but as time progressed, Growlie’s love for the chick rubbed off on him and he seems to return this friendship back to her. Nicknamed “Pudge” by Growlie (the name most of the other puppies recognise him as), PJ has found himself hanging around Growlie and her friends fairly often, and although he’s unable to communicate with them verbally, some pups are better at understanding him than others. The more time he spends with the puppies, however, the less attention he gets from the chickens, making it less likely he’ll grow up to become the lead rooster (a role that has slowly begun to shift to another rather large male chick named Wayne). It’s unknown where he received the sunglasses he often wears; perhaps when he grows up and learns to speak outside his usual “cheeps”, he’ll let the secret out– but it seems highly unlikely.
