babclayman requested me to list animated films coming out in 2014. These are the only ones I know of so far that will be airing in the US: Big Hero 6 Book of Life The Boxtrolls Home How to Train Your Dragon 2 The Jungle Book Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return The Lego Movie Mr. Peabody and Sherman Pinocchio Planes: Fire & Rescue Rio 2 The Tibetan Dog The Pirate Fairy Keep in mind, these are only the ones that are scheduled to get a US release. Some of these might get canceled, some might be direct-to-DVD, and some may be live-action/animated hybrids. I have no info on any of these films yet or any bit of interest, but I'll look up trailers for them.

Big Hero 6- Are there five previous films, I missed?
Home- A Homeward Bound type film?
Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return- Possibly worth a shot.
The Lego Movie- May check it out, but I hope it isn’t turned into a; “Look, there’s a Pop Culture Character!” type film.
Mr. Peabody and Sherman- Might be good.
Planes: Fire & Rescue- Considering this one was in production before the first Planes bombed; I’m fearful for this one.
The Tibetan Dog- Sounds like a Drama to me.
The Pirate Fairy- Wait, What!? That sounds like a Joke Trailer that you’d see at the start of Tropic Thunder, Doesn’t it?

Big Hero 6- Are there five previous films, I missed? No, it's based on a Marvel Super Hero comic. All I know is that Dreamworks is doing it. I'm guessing this one's a sequel to Oz: The Great and Powerful. I'm sure this one will be a direct-to-DVD film. I'm just going to assume it's another one of Disney's god-awful Tinker Bell movies.

Big Hero 6- May check it out might not.
Book of Life- No thank you. I have my own book of life, it's called my laptop. Technically, it's not even a book! But eh, doesn't sound appealing to me...at least not yet.
The Boxtrolls- Sounds like a rejected band name to me. Don't know if it's worth a shot, maybe when I see the trailer to it.
Home- This better not be a documentary about Homes!
How to Train Your Dragon 2- All because the first instalment didn't acquire enough information, so they're doing this sequel to clear up any missed information. But who do I to say? I didn't see the first one.
The Jungle Book- Let's see if this adds up to Disney's adaptation.
Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return- Since this is about The Wizard of Oz, it must be good.
The Lego Movie- Will this bring fame or shame to Lego? We'll find out.
Mr. Peabody and Sherman- I don't know what to say about this movie. It looks good, but the trailer will determine whether this movie will be a success or bomb.
Pinocchio- Like the Jungle Book, this movie better live up to the Disney adaptation.
Planes: Fire & Rescue- Seriously? Haven't we suffered enough from the first flop? Good thing I didn't see the first one.
Rio 2- Getting banned from Rio. Nah, J/K Seriously, the first one looked good(didn't see it though), but let's see how this plays out.
The Tibetan Dog- a Movie about a dog from Tibet? That's all I can gather from the title. And while your at it, why not make "The English Sheepdog?"
The Pirate Fairy- Why am I getting the feeling that a fifth grade teacher who still lives with his mother will shout out 'FAIRIES'?"

Belchic, you are right on Pirate Fairy being another Tinkerbell Movie. This time, the film will be Tinkerbell's Introduction to Captain Hook!
Wonder when we'll get around to seeing Peter. What would that one be called? The Lost Boy?

I think that Pixar is releasing a new movie called The Good Dinosaur as well.
I will have my thoughts soon enough.

The Good Dinosaur is not being released in 2014; instead, Pixar has put that in the November 2015 release date (the date Finding Dory was supposed to be released), and is pushing Finding Dory to late 2015/early 2016.

The only animated films next year that interest me are The Lego Movie and Mr. Peabody and Sherman both of which look good from the trailers. The trailer for Mr. Peabody and Sherman just debuted as Paws noted in the 2013 films post... www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgpUc6bUagAIf there was a need for added incentive to pull for Mr. Peabody and Sherman there are thoughts being kicked around in Hollywood that if that film succeeds than a proper animated Rocky and Bullwinkle movie won't be far behind (although I actually liked the live-action film from 2000 too...although it dated itself real quick). Reading up on Planes 2 that looks like a dud. Cars 2 underperformed critically but at least it still stayed somewhat true to the first one. Planes 2 will go out of its way to ruin Dusty's racing career he worked so hard for so he has an excuse to change jobs to fighting forest fires.

Belchic, you are right on Pirate Fairy being another Tinkerbell Movie. This time, the film will be Tinkerbell's Introduction to Captain Hook! Wonder when we'll get around to seeing Peter. What would that one be called? The Lost Boy? Man, the timeline of this story is about as confusing as the Legend of Zelda timeline! I think that Pixar is releasing a new movie called The Good Dinosaur as well. I will have my thoughts soon enough. I don't know why the Wiki page didn't list the Pixar films. But Paws is right. Pixar is actually releasing a film next year called Inside-Out. I read the plot to that one, and it sounds pretty interesting. It's supposed to demonstrate how the brain of a preteen boy works while he's dealing with change in his life.

Is 'Inside Out' intended as a Full Length Feature or just a Short? It is an interesting idea though.
Come on; Pixar! Let's see that good studio, you know you are. Can we? ;3

I did a search and found a website called animatedviews.com. This site lists all the upcoming animated films coming out in the next few years chronologically. Now that I've got a full list of them chronologically, I'm going to give my first initial thoughts on them before AniMatt does (see how his thoughts compare to mine):
The Lego Movie - Interesting. Mr. Peabody and Sherman - Maybe. Rio 2 - Not sure. Legends of Oz - Doubt. The Good Dinosaur - Awesome! How to Train Your Dragon 2 - Might have potential. Planes 2 - Not another one! The Boxtrolls - Yuck! Book of Life - We'll see. Big Hero 6 - Oh no! Home - What the hell? Minions - Really? Phineas & Ferb: The Movie - Uggghh!
Remember, these are subject to change, and these might not all get a theatrical release.

I heard the Phineas & Ferb movie is going to be a cross between Animation and also Live Action. Either they'll do a thing where the characters turn Live Action, or it'll be like Roger Rabbit with Animation walking around Live Action World.
Bet part of the Plot will be like a; "Behold! My Live-Actioninator!" or something like that?

Something tells me this is going to be another bad year for animated films. The only one that looks promising is "The Good Dinosaur". If that is the case, then I'm sure that one will definitely win for Best Animated Film of that year (with Pixar, that's no big surprise).

Mr. Peabody and Sherman - Better be good. Rio 2 - Alright! Legends of Oz - No way! The Good Dinosaur - I’m nervous... How to Train Your Dragon 2 - Maybe. Planes 2 - Stop already! The Boxtrolls - Nope, sorry. Book of Life - Not sure. Big Hero 6 - Bring it on! Home - D’oh! Minions - Want it now! Phineas & Ferb: The Movie - Sure, why not?

Well, Trey, I can see that we both have much different opinions on these films. My expectations are really low since hardly any of these films sound good, so I'm guessing this is going to be another bad year for animated films. However, you seem a little more open-minded than me, and I wonder what it is about Big Hero 6 and the Phineas & Ferb movie that has you so excited.
