Okay, I put some thought into these, and I have this: The Lego Movie - Need more info. Mr. Peabody and Sherman - Better be good. Rio 2 - Alright! Legends of Oz - No way! The Good Dinosaur - I’m nervous... How to Train Your Dragon 2 - Maybe. Planes 2 - Stop already! The Boxtrolls - Nope, sorry. Book of Life - Not sure. Big Hero 6 - Bring it on! Home - D’oh! Minions - Want it now! Phineas & Ferb: The Movie - Sure, why not? Well, Trey, I can see that we both have much different opinions on these films. My expectations are really low since hardly any of these films sound good, so I'm guessing this is going to be another bad year for animated films. However, you seem a little more open-minded than me, and I wonder what it is about Big Hero 6 and the Phineas & Ferb movie that has you so excited. I have a pretty deep appreciation of film and animation so I think these movies sound like they could be great. From what I've read, Big Hero 6 is a movie about an obscure Marvel comic book and will, I understand, be featuring Marvel superheroes. It's like the ad campaign behind Wreck-It Ralph with the classic video game characters. With Phineas and Ferb... well, I'm not sure what your credentials are for a good animated TV series, but hopefully Phineas and Ferb won't be dimension hopping and we see the entire cast as horses.

Okay, I'm assuming you were having technical difficulties when posting this, but could you please delete 5 of those 6 posts. It's kind of annoying.
On the count of Big Hero 6, I said "Oh no!" for a pretty good reason. This is a Marvel comic, and yes, I am aware that Disney owns Marvel, but please, PLEASE, keep the Marvel characters away from the Disney Animated Features! On the count of Wreck-It Ralph, I don't think he was really a video game in 1982; that was probably an original idea made specifically for that movie.

Well, how would you have reacted if Disney decided to make a new entry in their canon that featured the Muppets or the Pixar characters? Besides, remember what you said for Planes? "Might have potential" Now that that movie is seen for what it was supposed to be--a direct to video release--what are you saying about Planes: Fire and Rescue? "Not another one!" Just give some of these a chance. And yes, I was having technical problems.

Doing a Marvel Film isn't that bad. Let's think what Marvel Films have been made since Disney attained it...Oh Yeah, 'Avengers', ergo the Highest Grossing Superhero Film To Date! So Big Hero Six can have potential.
I do wonder, due to the commerical bomb of Planes, will the sequel be released to DVD like the first was intended, or will they just try to continue milking the Cars Cow for all it's got?

Trey_Vore: Well, there is a big difference. The Disney Animated Features are supposed to be based on fairy tales, actual stories, or original ideas altogether. Marvel does not belong here. With Pixar and Muppets, it's not like they're doing anything with Star Wars or Avatar or anything unrelated like Batman, Doctor Who or Twilight! As for Planes, I thought the film might have potential for real. I had no idea it was going to be a flop; how you forsaw it, I have no idea. However, now that I know how poorly it did, I have no desire to see it and feel a sequel is totally unnecessary (unless they were planning to make this a saga, which I hope not). babclayman: You don't understand. Just because you thought The Avengers was good doesn't mean Disney can get away with having Marvel take over everything they do that makes them memorable! I personally think all the Marvel stuff is overrated, especially since they're part of the reason "101 Dalmatians: The Series" is no longer airing on TV in the US. Although, I did like The Avengers since it focused on multiple superheroes with their own unique powers. I think those types of superhero movies are more interesting than the ones that focus on just one superhero. As for your question on Planes, the sequel was actually in production before the original was released. I'm sure that now that Disney knows how poorly the original did, all plans to make any future Planes films will be canceled.

Well, remember that blood and gore did not belong in legally licensed Nintendo games. But when Mortal Kombat was announced to be coming home and Nintendo forced Acclaim to make a squeaky-clean version of the game for the SNES that had no blood and the more severe fatalities downgraded, and the Sega Genesis game did the same but featured a 'blood code' that turned on the gore, Nintendo suffered a huge loss in game sales compared to the Genesis game, right?
Besides, I remember back when The Hunchback of Notre Dame was the newest entry in the Disney Animated Canon, it seemed to be 'testing the limits' on how far filmmakers could go with a G rating before they got a PG. Michael Eisner even said, "Even if it does get the PG rating, we'll just take it. We can't keep making Dumbo forever."
And after the major financial losses on John Carter, Mars Needs Moms and The Lone Ranger, I think to make use of resources to make cash sounds like a good idea.

What does any of this have to do with this topic?

First trailer for Planes 2 is out... www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8dneO2-XcsMy first thought is actually "If this weren't a Planes/Cars movie this actually could have been really cool." I don't think there's been a big budget movie about fighting forest fires in a while. But the Planes bit really does drag it down.

I think what Trey meant with his case; Belchic is that since you claim; "Disney are use to doing Fairy Tales" Etc. Trey's point at hand is that sometimes Disney would like to experiment. See if they are able to do more than just the whole 'Fairy Tale' stuff.
Pretty much saying; "Sometimes Experimenting An Idea Can Open A Lot Of Doors". See what he means?

Experimenting, you say? So are you saying this is just an experiment, and they're not necessarily going to do nothing but Marvel films from now on? Is that what you're saying, babclayman?

Yes, That's what I'm saying. What's wrong with it? Why do you always assume I think something is wrong with everything, bab? I keep telling you: nothing.

When I went and saw Frozen this evening, I saw a trailer for another animated film coming out next year called "The Nut Job". Don't know why animatedviews didn't list it. About this film...I'm kinda indifferent about it.

Got some updates for this year:
I checked imdb, and they say some things different than animatedviews.
1. According to imdb, The Good Dinosaur and the Minions movie aren't coming out until next year.
2. There are two animated films scheduled for this year which animatedviews did not mention. One of them (which I mentioned earlier) is The Nut Job, which is coming out next week. Also, Studio Ghibli apparently has one coming out called The Wind Rises.
3. Imdb has absolutely no info for The Book of Life, Home or the Phineas & Ferb movie, so it's likely those projects are canceled.
4. I'm not sure if Planes 2 is set to be released theatrically or be direct-to-DVD.
I guess I'll wait until AniMatt gives his initial thoughts before I update mine.

To be honest I saw a Trailer of the film of The legend of OZ Dorothy's return, it's actually a sequel I guess to the first Wizard of OZ Film that's how I'm taking it and this is going to be animated, this I guess is the first length film that's going to be animated.
