So next week, a new Ninja Turtles movie will be released. I'm not sure if I should feel hyped about it or not.
First of all, it hasn't been that long since the 2007 movie was released, and I heard that film got a lot of bad reviews.
There's been talking about it since 2011. I remember watching a video on YouTube where James Rolfe and Mike Matei talked about what they wanted to see in the film, and it looks like none of their wishes have come true. The Channel 6 crew is not going to be in it except for Vern. I think they said they wanted Jeff Goldblum to play Vern, but it's going to be Will Arnet. Also, I doubt Rafael is going to say "F*ck" in the movie.
The main reason I'm not to thrilled about it is because Michael Bay is doing it. Since I was totally dissatisfied with his Transformers movies, I probably won't bother unless one of my friends drags me with them to see it.
I know Megan Fox will be playing April...Huh! Imagine that: Megan Fox in a Michael Bay movie.

Michael Bay is producing the movie but he is not directing it, Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles).

Bay is doing a lot of producing work lately, what with this and The Purge.
Although...Battle; Los Angeles wasn't that well recieved either, was it?

Irma is in the new cartoon series on Nickelodeon and Bebop and Rocksteady are slated to appear.
I am looking forward to the new movie, chances are it is going to be mercilessly ravaged by critics but it will probably make money.
I'm going to point out that Megan Fox was not in Transformers: Dark of the Moon because she was badmouthing Michael Bay at the time but they have since reconciled.
And who knows, no matter what critics said about Transformers movies Michael Bay got them introduced into American pop culture, maybe he'll do the same with the Ninja Turtles.

Haven't both Transformers and TMNT been part of American pop culture since the 1980's? Michael Bay is pretty much reintroducing them to a new generation. Since he's done those two, I'm sure chances are he will do the same with G.I. Joe, ThunderCats and He-Man as well, and I'm sure Megan Fox will play parts in those as well.

Well, G.I.Joe sort of has been introduced to a newer generation, although not a well recieved one. And I think Thundercats & He-Man had a short revived series in the Naughts, didn't they?

yeah they did, sadly both were canceled due to low toy sales. In the defense of the He-man revival the toyline had too many He-man and Skeletor variants. though for the Thundercats line it didn't catch on though the classics line did.

@two-Tone and babclayman I've heard of that, the people who made the shows used that as an excuse just to cancel their popular shows. Belchic Question if I may, and yes I've seen the video, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Raph did say the F word cause he is hot headed after all and one of my favorite turtles of all time, but why would you be disappointed, if they weren't going to add the F Bomb? Don't get me wrong ever since the 1990's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out, I'm used to the Turtles swearing up a storm, but one of them dropping the F Bomb? I've seen the Turtles kill people in the Mirage Comics, I've seen them swear in that along with the first film, and I've seen the kid friendly Ninja Turtles. So to be honest if the F word is used, it would be actually be new to me. I just don't understand why people would want the F Bomb to be dropped, if you can kindly explain that to me I would really appreciate that, plus Donny swears in the film so this is my first time hearing him swearing, if you don't know what I'm talking about this is it right here. Donatello: It's about time you guys allow me to be the Bad*** for once.

Okay, I never once said that I wanted to hear them drop an F bomb! That was just one of James' suggestions. I have no interest in hearing that.
Though, I do wonder why Rafael is the most popular Turtle of the four. He seems to be the fan favorite.

@two-Tone and babclayman I've heard of that, the people who made the shows used that as an excuse just to cancel their popular shows. True Shawn, same happened to two DC Comics series that were on Cartoon Network as well, namely Young Justice and Green Lantern the animated series. Both were canned for the same reason yet I don't recall a Green Lantern the series line unless they were referencing the failed movie line.

I don't either, I just think it's unfair for the companies to say. "Okay, this toyline is failing, so let's cancel the programs despite the high ratings." That's how I take it when they cancel good shows.

Thing is, times change, tastes change. Just like how some people don't ever get married and have kids, what you may have loved when you were a kid may not mean so much when you grow up. If that isn't the case, it may need an update to keep the franchise relevant in a modern world.
Look at what happened to the Lone Ranger. He was a very popular radio serial back in the 1930s and had several films and television spin offs through the 1950s and 1960s but things took a turn for the worse when Westerns were pretty much dead and Mel Brooks gave them a very effective satire in Blazing Saddles. By 1981 they did a cartoon series about him as well as a movie in that year but it was a major commercial failure and not much was done to keep him meaningful for some time afterwards because by that time he was pretty old hat. The WB made a TV movie about him in 2003 which was supposed to start a new live-action TV series but it was met with mixed reviews and the show didn't get picked up. Not even the combined might of Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer could get contemporary audiences invested in him as the 2013 movie was a major critical and commercial bomb (and at least 25% of the movie's attendance was over the age of 50).
If you want some other example maybe like, when you were 5 years old, maybe Mom and Dad said that your favorite movie was Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big Paw. You loved the movie because it was a friendly cartoon about cute doggies, the morality mini-tales it offered, the explanation for how humans bond with their dogs, the catchy songs and the nostalgia for a simpler time. On top of that you thought Marvin McNasty was most despicable bad guy ever put on film and Mom says there was a time you watched a video cassette of the movie so much the tape wore out and you were inconsolable because you thought your favorite movie was gone forever. However, by this time you're in college, and while on a break from studying for an upcoming test you discover the movie on DVD and think maybe it will be worth revisiting. So you watch the movie as a college student and...
...Godd**n this is the just the stupidest movie you ever saw. There are songs that are obvious knockoffs of better songs, limp voice acting, unexplained changes made to the characters from the 1980s cartoon, obvious animation mistakes, a plot that makes no sense and it gets sappy. You are now saying to yourself that you liked the movie a lot better as a rose-tinted memory.
Don't get me wrong I loved seeing the Turtles as live-action heroes when Russia was still a Communist country. But it'll be awesome seeing them fighting the Foot Clan in a post-9/11 world.

Oddly enough I'm not surprised that you enjoyed it or that they're making a sequel. Strangely, both the movies in question here are films I've been considering going to see...but I'll probably wait for the DVDs and rent them on Netflix.

Cool Trey, both Andre Meadows and Mr. Weenie Productions have said they enjoyed the film in their own way on YouTube, since I have no way of going to the theater, I'll wait for the Films to come out on DVD and Blu-Ray. Despite the PG-13 Rating for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it's not really that violent, it's similar to the first three live action films.
And yes I did say I didn't see the film, I looked it up on the IMDB, Warning, it does contain Spoilers and yes, you can't really trust what's on there either.
