Okay, so I have just gotten myself acquainted with a new animated series on Nick Jr. That's right, you heard me: Nick Jr.
This is a show about this team of talking puppies called the Paw Patrol, who have special duties to help the people in the city they live in. They are lead by this boy named Ryder.
So now, here's the team:
First up, we've got Chase. Chase is a German Shepherd who specializes in law enforcement and traffic safety.
Next, we've got Rocky. Rocky looks like a sheep dog or a wolf pup of some kind, and he specializes in recycling. He often uses parts found in his recycle bin to build or fix things.
Then, we've got Marshal. Marshal is a Dalmatian, and as you may have guessed, he specializes in fire-fighting. He's also kind of clumsy.
Next up, we've got Rubble. Rubble is a bull dog, and he specializes in construction.
Then we've got Zuma. Zuma is a Labrador, I think. I'm not sure what he specializes in since I've only seen one pair of episodes so far, but I do plan to see more episodes, and once I do, I will soon find out what exactly he does.
Last but not least, we've got Skye, the only female pup of the team. I'm not sure what breed Skye is, but she specializes in aviation. Skye also happens to be the smallest pup on the team, so...I know you guys hate it when I talk about this, but if the Paw Patrol ever did my quirk, she will most likely always be on top. (Even if she wasn't the smallest, she'd probably be on top anyway, because that's apparently the rule. 101 Dalmatians is the only cartoon I know of that broke that rule. But I ridiculously digress.)
So what I think of the show so far? It seems like a pretty fun show. I can definitely look past the CG. As far as education and life lessons, it does seem like it tries to force it in your face a lot of times, but I can look beyond that. Although, I find it kind of weird that the whole town seems to know about the Paw Patrol, they always seem to obey them, and they seem to accept the fact that they can talk! It's not like the Pound Puppies, where the organization is totally secret from the world, as is the fact that they can talk. Though that doesn't necessarily make the show bad. This is just one of those shows that is not meant to be taken too seriously. I mean, obviously, the morals should be taken seriously, but as far as talking dogs go and such, this is one of those shows where it's okay to throw logic out the window. This show was made for children under 9, so it's excusable.
Apparently, this show has been around for about a year, and 52 episodes have aired already, so I've got a lot of catching up to do.
In case any of you are wondering, no, I'm not just watching it for my quirk. I was just interested in checking it out. I mean, talking dogs are always a plus in cartoons. I think we will always have talking dog cartoons. Even when some good old ones fall, new ones will rise.
