Since it's Christmas eve I thought we should discuss the 101 Dalmatians the series Christmas episode "A Christmas Cruella"
it's an interesting take on the D!ckens classic. And this episode was on VHS, I remember seeing it at Blockbuster video along time ago, the cover art was really well done with Pongo, Perdita, and the pups on the cover (Two-Tone and Patch were inside stockings)

Yeah, I really do love this Episode as it does give some Back Story to Cruella! ;3 Like I also mention before, I have this on the; "Disney Christmas Favourites" DVD, so it's good there's an Episode of; "101 Dalmatians The Series" on DVD, Eh? ;3
I notice a lot of Homages in the Episode too, like how one Nanny of Cruella seems to be Mary Poppins! There are also a lot of good lines in the Episode too, such as Cadpig's role and how Cruella may act with what she notices.
Also, sort of amusing is that Spot points Cruella to something for; "Fluffy", who we also see in; "102 Dalmatians"! Maybe Spot is able to see the futur, Eh? ;3
What you Pups also think your Dalmatians may try in a ase similar to; "Christmas Cruella", You Know what I mean? ;3

For Shane he would try to reason with Cruella, but knowing how she is, she won't listen to reason no matter what he tells her.
For Balance she would be the ghost of Christmas Past, trying to show Cruella what it was like for her in the past.
For Blake The present will be kid friendly to say the least however he would be showing her what is happening at the Dearly's at the time Anita was fired.
For Shawn he would be the ghost of Christmas Future, which would be pretty dark for him since he would rarely talk showing Cruella what the future holds for her.
But yeah, that's just my opinion.

I'll be honest that I didn't really like this episode. Since Cruella stayed a villain her redemption felt hallow (ditto the finale) and Lucky felt misused being reduced to a silent "Tiny Tim" role. The animation good, and downright creepy at times befitting the story, but this one wasn't my favorite.
The opening scene with the pups sniffing their presents was cute.

I can understand why they try what they try with Lucky’s role in; “Christmas Cruella”. Considering that Cruella knows Lucky, and this Episode does come before; “Virtual Lucky”, she wouldn’t know what Lucky may sound like. So, there is a reason why she may nt hear Lucky, in the Episode. And one may notice, when Rolly does show Cruella the Christmas Presen, Cadpig, Rolly or Spot aren’ seen with the Dearly’s, because of their roles in; “Christmas Cruella”. That some sense, Race?
Also, Considering it’s Cruella, there are some hints that she is her, like when she mentions about what she plans to try on the Workr, whose Name she accidentally gives to Anita.
I do notice; The Holiday Episodes of; “101 Dalmatians The Series”, like this or; “Valentine Daze” does seem to show Cruella in a type of; “She wishes for lov” type light, You Know what I mean, Pups? ;3

yeah and it does show why she became obsessed with Dalmatians in the first place
also I hope we get more screencaps from this episode. I got tons of ideas for them.

I honestly think this is one of the worst adaptations of A Christmas Carol I've ever seen (I agree with Race's reasons). It's on par with "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol".

Belchic, I see a Christmas Carol where Marley (if nt mos of the Ghosts) are nt visible, they have a scene where randm group sing the National Anthem and also I prform in one, where the Ghost of Christmas Presen raps! Also, since; “Christmas Cruella” is trying it’s own style of it, and I will say that the Dalmatians do work with the roles they have in it.
Like some Pups mention, it shows some back story to Cruella and the Dalmatians do get a lot of good lines in the Episode.
I can try some Images of the Episode, If you like, Two-Tone? ;3
Like I also ask, What you think your Dalmatians may try in a case similar to; “Christmas Cruella”, Pups? ;3

Bab, I should have every right to dislike this episode. We're all enlightened to our own opinions, aren't we?
Also, these bad versions you speak of? Try one where the spirits visit Scrooge out of order! That's the case for Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol.

I just made a discovery! Apparently there exists a DVD called “Disney’s Christmas Favorites”. I thought maybe it had some Christmas-themed Disney cartoons from the classic era, and while it does contain a few like “Toy Tinkers”, I noticed that Cruella was randomly on the cover. It turns out the “101 Dalmatians” episode, “A Christmas Cruella” is on that DVD! Also I could be wrong, but I think the “Quack Pack” episode, “Snow Place to Hide” is on the DVD too.

That is the one, I have been talking about this DVD for years. It also comes with a Mickey Mouse Works Short, where Mickey competes with Chip N’ Dale to get nuts from a store, too!
I think it first became available roughly around the same time as when “Cinderella” got a DVD release, I think.
Speaking of “A Christmas Cruella”, I have seen that someone has been selling animation cells of that episode on EBay, or…well, the Pencil Animation before being put on a Cell. The images in question are from the “Ghost Of Christmas Yet To Come”, namely when Cruella sees she is buried in a Pet Cemetery!
Would you like me to link the EBay page here, to show what I mean?

That’s funny. I thought you told me it was a DVD release of the VHS tape we got here in the US. I thought you told me it had three other episodes on it too.

No, I have always said it was just “A Christmas Cruella”.
Maybe, in the case of three other episodes, it may have been me referring to the other shorts, as I know there are also the two shorts and the “Quack Pack” episode.
Isn’t the DVD Menu a Snow Globe, too?

I did enjoy this episode, as it gave us a Christmas episode for the series.
I know it wasn't completely original but it does have some funny moments and the characters, while not 100% perfect, were good.
If there are complaints about it just being another Christmas Carol parody, I will just say at least it got a Christmas episode given the production of the episodes. I remember once watching someone do a video on the classic 1980s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and they said it had a few "winter" episodes but there was never actually a Christmas episode.
And no, that "We Wish You a Turtle Christmas" doesn't count.
