If you pups check the "What song are you listening to?" thread, you'll notice I put a video of a certain actor mostly known nowadays for being the lead character of "House of Cards", (but he's also Hopper from "A Bug's Life"), singing the song played at the end credits of "Finding Nemo". As I was listening to it, I thought up a certain question or topic to bring up.
Out of all the composers, (granted "Beyond the Sea" was from the late 50's), or musicians used in Disney films, (can be any composer or musician, even if their music wasn't originally made for the film such as Bobby Darin's "Beyond the Sea"), which composer(s) are your favorite and what songs do you like from them.
For me, I certainly enjoy the Sherman Brothers, (after all, how can you like Mary Poppins or other classic Disney films but NOT like their music in it), but if I were to say specific songs, they'd all come from Mary Poppins since I can't think of others. The top 3 would be, unranked: Feed the Birds; Jolly Holiday; and....ooh...souicodilaipxecitsiligarfilacrepuS backwards.
I also enjoyed Phil Collins, (who did music for Tarzan of course and maybe a song or two of Brother Bear), but specifically "You'll Be In My Heart", "Son of Man", and I'm gonna say "Strangers Like Me", (the fourth one would've been "No Way Out" from Brother Bear).
Of course, being a Lion King fan, I do enjoy Elton John & Tim Rice's songs, so I'll go for Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Be Prepared, and...Circle of Life.
I also like Randy Newman, (who's done songs for...who knows how many Disney Pixar films but also Princess and the Frog), but I'll go for "I Will Go Sailing No More", "Friends on the Other Side", and "Dig a Little Deeper".
I know of Hans Zimmer and Alan Menken but I'm not sure what songs or films they did the music for. ^^;
