It is not a Bay Film, Belchic.
Though, from what I hear; Linkara, who has a Video Show, where he discusses the History of Power Rangers, considers it decnt. I think many claim, their largst issues with the Film is the look of it, and a scene where Rita looks in a Doughnut place.
I also hear, the one who play the Originl Pnk and Green Ranger make a Cameo Appearance, in the Film. Is this Correct, Pups?

I've watched a video of Mr. Weenie Productions and I actually agree with his opinion on what he wants to do with the film, on whether he wants to watch it or not, but do I want to see it, well, I'm glad they brought the old characters back, but feel as though they could bring the old cast back as well for the film itself, they're not old enough not to be in the film as the main characters, plus the zords, I love how they remade them, but a Tyrannosaurus Rex doesn't really have any horns and a Mammoth isn't really an Arachnid.
I approve that they want to go with the direction that Super Sentai went to as level of G-R giving the film a PG-13, but once I see the film, I'll give you guys a heads up of what I think of it.

I did think it was okay. Considering all the modernization and updating it could have been a lot worse.
To answer babclayman's question I didn't see any cameos by the original cast members.
I tend to think that Jason David Frank would be a-OK with that if that was true. The only one who couldn't appear in the movie would be Thuy Trang (Trini).

I know that Thuy Trang wouldn't be in the film.

Sorry to disappoint all the people who saw this movie, but it looks like we are not getting a sequel. It seems the film was a financial bomb. So much for us seeing Tommy.

Tmmy does technically appear in the Film, at leas, the one who plays him. I think he has a Cameo as part of some crwd scenes.
Though, wasn' Tmmy the Mentr Role, in the Dno Thunder?

Yep, he was, which would make him the first mentor to become a Power Ranger (Despite him being a Power Ranger in the past), followed by RJ in Jungle Fury after becoming a Werewolf.
I've read that the Power Rangers Film did poorly, I don't know if it did well in the box office or not, but judging from the reviews, it's actually got mixed reviews.

A sequel is not going to happen, Shawn. They've already confirmed this.

On the news, Bab,
I never said anything about a sequel though.
Just put in Power Rangers 2017 on your search page and it should show you the recent news.

Well that sucks, I kinda thought opening only one week after Beauty and the Beast was going to spell trouble for the Rangers.
I do maintain it was an okay movie. Just as the guy who may have written the definitive Street Fighter: the Movie article, there was a lot of translation that had to occur. For one, it started as a Japanese Super Sentai series that was later cut up into an American TV show, and that was the basis for the movie.
They obviously wanted to make the movie more mature than the series it was based on because in a time when a superhero movie can be a piece of art and it's not just some silly 'only for kids' film, it would be rather archaic to just go try to make a movie which is overly safe and childish.
A major problem was they were caught between two extremes--trying to make this a more appropriate movie for its time, as listed, and embracing the silliness its source material. Making the Rangers some brooding heroes is one thing but it does take a lot of time to finally get where we want, and by then it's a little too late. At the same time Rita Repulsa is utter goofiness--she does that 'fish out of water' thing so much its a bit hard to take her seriously. I also guess there was no way to do Goldar justice without making people think he was rejected from the land of Oz so he's literally just a faceless monster.
Then once you finally get to the action, it almost becomes Transformers all over again. They even do a bird flip which is like they are saying "We are not ripping off Transformers! Got that? This is NOT trying to be Transformers!" You're ultimately left with a movie that just doesn't have a voice or an identity.
As I said I do claim this movie was okay. Just considering the 90s product-to-modern film updating and the Japanese-to-American translation it had to go through it could have been a LOT worse.

There is a lot of comparisn, betwen Power Rangrs and the Wizard Of Oz. You have A Large Head claiming to be a Wizard, a Flyng Monke and I think the one who voices Rita claims that the Voice Directr ask her to Voice Rita like the Witch of the West. So, some thing does tell me that looking like Wizard Of Oz is intentionl.
I do hear the case about the Rita and the Doughnuts, though. What would Nemo think!?
I do hear that they do look in to the Character of the Rangers, in this Film, and it isn' as Dark as the Trailrs make it seem. It does make me wonder, if the Film shall do Okay, when it comes to the Hme Viewing Disks?
Is it also correct that; the one who voices Fear, in Inside Out, also voices Alpha in the Power Rangers Film?

You know what's really something? I remember reading Roger Ebert's review of the 1995 movie and he had a very similar note. He says:
"Paging through the movie's press kit, I came across the following quote attributed to Amy Jo Johnson, who portrays Kimberly, the Pink Power Ranger: "Mighty Morphin Power RangersTM: the Movie is like a mix between Star Wars and The Wizard of Oz." I wonder if Amy Jo actually said "TM" when she was delivering that wonderfully fresh and spontaneous quote, which is so much longer and more involved than anything she says in the movie. More to the point, I wonder if she has ever seen Star Wars or The Wizard of Oz."
History repeats itself.
After hearing of the movie's underperformance though, one image seems to come to mind:

I just found out that despite the Movie being a box office bomb, the film is #1 with the Blu-Ray and DVD Sales, I'm guessing they should just make DVD and Blu-Ray releases of the Power Rangers Movies.
