Do you think it's possible 101 Dalmatians will be part of the Walt Disney Signature Collection? So far, only Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio, Bambi and The Lion King are part of the collection. I suppose there is a slim chance it will be a part of the collection, but it probably won't be for a few years since it is one of the last movies in the cycle.

I think it is possible, Belchic. Though, they do have the Diamond Edition of; "101 Dalmatians", about two years ago, so I think it may be some years, before the; Disney Signature Collection of; "101 Dalmatians".
Though, it does make me wonder, what type of Special Featurs may they have, on the; Signature Edition? What do you think, Pups?

I wouldn't hold my breath for good special features. I heard some reviews on the Signature Collections, and they say the features aren't very good.

Hey guys! Remember when I asked about 101 Dalmatians possibly becoming part of the Signature Collection? Well, I just recently watched a video on YouTube that explained the Disney Vault, and I’ve come to the conclusion that it is indeed going to become part of the Signature Collection! youtu.be/Lj9S2fiCsA0What I learned in this video is that Disney has 16 of its animated features in the Disney Vault that they continue to rerelease on a 7-10 year basis. 101 Dalmatians is among those 16, so therefore, I can confirm it will get a Signature Collection release! The 16 movies in the Disney Vault include all the films from the Golden Age, all the films from the Silver Age (except The Sword in the Stone), and the four most successful films of the Disney Renaissance. But for those of you who don’t know the eras, let me put it this way: So far, Disney has released, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio, Bambi, The Lion King, and Lady and the Tramp in the Signature Collection; also, Peter Pan and Fantasia are coming soon. All of those said films are included in the Disney Vault Collection, and that’s half the films. The other films in the Disney Vault are Dumbo, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and of course, as I just said, 101 Dalmatians. Disney is currently debating if Frozen should be included in the Disney Vault as well, so there is a chance we may be seeing that as well as other films like Zootopia or Tangled become part of the vault in the future. Anyway, my prediction at this point is that we will be seeing 101 Dalmatians and those other 7 films in Disney’s Signature Collection, but I just don’t know when they will be released at this point.

And so, I’ve made a prediction on when the 101 Dalmatians Signature Collection DVD will be released. After seeing what was released so far, what’s coming up, and knowing the Disney Vault cycle pretty well, I think I’ve come up with an assumption for the upcoming releases.
So far, the movies that have gotten a Signature Collection release are Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio, Bambi, The Lion King, and Lady and the Tramp. The next one in line is going to be Peter Pan, and I read somewhere that the one after that is going to be Fantasia. So here are my predictions as to what is to come after that:
For 2019, I predict the Spring release is going to be Dumbo. I say that because that’s around the time when Tim Burton’s Dumbo will be released, so it’ll make sense to coincide with that. I predict the summer release of that year is going to be Aladdin. That would make sense since the live action remake of Aladdin is getting released around that time. For the fall release, I predict it’ll be Cinderella.
For the 2020 releases, I’m going to say Alice in Wonderland will be coming out in the spring, The Little Mermaid will be coming out in the summer, and the fall release will be 101 Dalmatians.
That leaves The Jungle Book and Sleeping Beauty for 2021...........Yeah, in that order.
So those are my predictions for the upcoming Signature Collection releases. I predict 101 Dalmatians will come out in the Fall of 2020. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how accurate I am.
What are your thoughts on this, pups?

Well, it was just announced that the next movie planned to be released for the Signature Collection is The Little Mermaid, so it looks like I was way off on that. I don’t know if Fantasia got its release last year or not, but I didn’t see any ads or hear anything about it, so probably not. I still think it’ll be quite some time before we see 101 Dalmatians get it’s release in the Signature Collection.

If I was to make an assumption on when the remaining films will be released in the Signature Collection, I will probably say this:
101 Dalmatians: Probably 2021 for the 60th anniversary.
Dumbo: Either this year to promote the live action film or 2021 for the 80th anniversary.
Cinderella: Probably 2020 for the 70th anniversary.
Alice in Wonderland: Probably 2021 for the 70th anniversary.
Sleeping Beauty: Maybe this year for its 60th anniversary.
Jungle Book: Probably 2022 for the 55th anniversary.
Aladdin: Either this year to promote the live action film or 2022 for its 30th anniversary.
Though some people are saying once Disney Play launches, Disney will be eliminating the Disney Vault altogether and discontinuing DVD sales, but I doubt that’ll happen (at least not anytime soon).
