Happy Christmas Eve, everyone! I guess it is time to reveal who I was the Santa of! The person I was assigned was Two-Tone! Since I am a writer and not an artist, I chose to write her a fanfic. She gave two ideas. One was based on 101 Dalmatians: The Series, while the other was based on 101 Dalmatian Street. Naturally, I chose the former for obvious reasons. But without further ado, here is my fanfic for her. I hope she enjoys it! —-
It was the day before Christmas. Cruella was up early about to go to work. However, she was irritated by the sound of a blaring trumpet. This sound was coming from Dearly Farm. Roger was serenading Anita by playing “Jingle Bells” on his trumpet.
“There goes that annoying Randy and his obnoxious music,” Cruella grumbled. “He’s been playing that trumpet this whole Christmas season! Whose idea was it to invent such a loud and obnoxious musical instrument?” The sounds then got louder irritating Cruella even further. She sighed and pulled out her tape recorder and made this recording: “Memo to myself: Remove the brass family entirely from the orchestra.”
Back down at the farm, Anita was enjoying Roger serenading her with his music before she went to work.
“Roger, you play that trumpet so beautifully,” said Anita. “I wish you’d play it more often.”
“Anything for you, Anita,” said Roger. “I am also honored that I was given the opportunity to perform outside of your office building today.”
“Well, it is Christmas Eve,” said Anita. “I’m sure Cruella won’t mind you and the rest of the band playing, especially if it brings in more business.”
“That’s all the old pest ever cares about,” said Roger.
Anita then picked up her sketchbook as she was about to leave for work.
“That is one fine sketchbook you got there, Anita,” said Roger. “All your wonderful designs are kept in there. You know what would make them even more wonderful? Is if you had a fancy new set of drawing utensils.”
“I’m sure they would,” said Anita. “You know, if you’re going to travel around with that trumpet, it sure would be nice if you had a fancy carrying case to carry it in.”
“That would be useful,” said Roger as Anita departed for work. “I’ll meet you up there later today.”
Meanwhile, in the barn, the pups were all having a festive celebration of their own.
“Oh, papa!” said Rolly. “Christmas Eve is finally here!”
“It is certainly the most wonderful time of the year!” said Cadpig.
“I just can’t wait to see what I get for Christmas this year!” said Lucky.
Just then, Two-Tone approached Lucky. “Say, Lucky?” she said. “Check out what I found in the yard sale box I kept from Nanny. It’s a little Santa Claus outfit. Wanna put it on with me and spread some Christmas cheer with the other pups?”
“Boy, would I!” said Lucky excitedly.
Lucky climbed onto Two-Tone’s shoulders, and the two of them put on the Santa costume.
“You sure you enjoy doing this, Two-Tone?” Lucky asked.
“Yeah,” Two-Tone answered in a dreamy sigh.
Lucky petted Two-Tone’s head. Two-Tone panted and wagged her tail. They finished closing up the coat, and Lucky looked at their reflection in the mirror. Two-Tone’s heavy-set body made Lucky look like a thick-bodied Santa Claus.
“We look so great! They’ll love us!” said Lucky.
“I’m sure they will,” Two-Tone said from inside the coat. “Though this fur is a little bit itchy on the nose…Ah-ah-ahhh-CHOO!” Two-Tone’s sneeze slightly inflated the coat, but only for a brief second.
“Gesundheit,” said Lucky.
“Thanks,” said Two-Tone.
Two-Tone then walked out into the barn so that Lucky could interact with the other pups.
“Ho, ho, ho!” Lucky laughed in a deep, jolly voice. “Merry Christmas!”
The pups laughed as this act that Lucky and Two-Tone were pulling off was putting bright smiles on all their faces.
Later that day, the main pups noticed Roger was leaving. They knew he was going to perform at Anita’s work, so they decided to stow away in the Volkswagen and join in on their festive celebration.
Meanwhile, at the House of De Vil, Anita was continuing doing her work while the pups were hiding and enjoying Roger performing with the rest of the band outside of the building. However, as the band was still playing, Lucky noticed Cruella walking by. She was approaching Horace and Jasper.
“Guys?” he said. “I think we should go keep an eye on Cruella. I think she might be up to something.”
“Knowing Cruella, she always is,” said Spot.
“Lucky’s right,” said Cadpig. “We cannot let her ruin our Christmas.”
“Just when I was getting into the music,” said Rolly.
“Come on, guys,” said Lucky. “This is more important!”
The pups followed Cruella and hid behind a flower pot listening in on her discussion with Horace and Jasper.
“Listen up, you croutons,” she said. “I’m very jealous of Anita because she keeps winning every fashion award known to man! It should be me, Cruella De Vil, who wins all those awards!”
“But you should be proud of her,” said Horace. “She’s your employee.”
“That’s right,” said Jasper. “And she does work very hard.”
“But I have a reputation,” said Cruella. “I need to find out her secret! Now, here’s what I want you to do: I’m going to distract her by bringing her into my office to give her Christmas bonus to her, and I want you two to steal her sketchbook and bring it into my office.” She was then interrupted by another blare of Roger’s trumpet. She then added, “Then, I want you to take that trumpet away from Rupert! It’s driving me insane!
“You can count on us, ma’am,” said Jasper.
“What he said,” said Horace.
“Perfect,” responded Cruella. “Now, get to work!”
The pups were shocked to hear about Cruella’s plot.
“I can’t believe this!” said Lucky. “She’s going to steal from Roger and Anita!”
“And on Christmas Eve of all days!” mourned Cadpig.
“What are we going to do?” asked Rolly.
“I think this is a good time to panic!” shouted Spot.
“Oh, pish-posh,” said Cadpig. “How long have we been friends? I am sure our brilliant leader, Lucky, is developing a plan in his head already. I can tell in his face. So what do we do, fearless leader?”
“Nothing,” said Lucky.
“Way to back me up, Lucky,” Cadpig said unamused.
“Right now, let’s let Cruella do her thing,” said Lucky.
The other three thought Lucky was out of his mind at first, but then he responded, “Relax, guys. Once this phase is over, I’ll explain what we’ll do. This will work. Trust me on this.” He winked.
Later that day, it was almost quitting time for Anita. A voice on the PA came on saying, “Will Anita Dearly please report to Cruella De Vil’s office immediately.” Anita got up and went to Cruella’s office. Once she was out of the room, Horace and Jasper crept into the room and snagged her sketchbook.
In Cruella’s office, Cruella spoke to Anita: “Anita Dearly, as the president of the House of De Vil, I could not help but notice how well you have been performing during your time working for the company. As the #1 employee in my company, it is my honor to present you with your Christmas bonus.”
“That’s wonderful, Cruella,” said Anita. “I bet it’s a big bonus. I could really use it to buy a perfect present for Roger.”
“Oh, it is a big one alright, Darling,” said Cruella. She then reached under her desk and pulled out a big gelatin mold. Anita was unpleasantly surprised at this. “No need for thanks, Darling. Now, hurry along and get yourself packed up and home for the holidays. Oh, and Anita? Merry Christmas, Darling!”
Anita took the mold and sadly walked back to her office to get cleaned up and back home. She noticed her sketchbook was missing from her desk. Assuming she put it away somewhere, she just packed up and left.
Watching from her security camera, Cruella laughed, “This is just too easy! Memo to myself: Continue pulling off this scam with the rest of my employees.”
Meanwhile, Roger was about to get back in his car and head for home until he was interrupted by a disguised Horace and Jasper. They were posing as two musicians.
“Hello there, kind sir,” said Horace. “We are a couple weary-traveling musicians.”
Horace added, “And we do not work for Cruella De Vil.” Jasper elbowed him. “I mean, we do work for Cruella De Vil.” Jasper elbowed him again. “I mean, I didn’t say anything.”
“We have a trumpet player in our band who has damaged his trumpet,” said Jasper. “Could we perhaps borrow yours? Just give us your phone number, and we will call you when we are ready to return it.”
Roger was a little reluctant to give up his prized possession, but he then remembered this was Christmas, a time for giving to those less fortunate, and thinking these two were certainly less fortunate than him, he gave his trumpet to them.
“Oh, bless you so much,” said Horace.
“And a Merry Christmas to you,” said Jasper as the two of them left.
Roger sadly drove to the shop where he bought the paints he wanted to buy for Anita, and then, he hurried home.
Meanwhile, the pups were standing outside of Villa De Vil. Cruella had just pulled up. She got out of her car and walked into her mansion. She had Anita’s sketchbook and Roger’s trumpet in her possession.
“So she did take Anita’s sketchbook and Roger’s trumpet!” Spot gasped.
“That dirty no-good cheap-skating Scrooge!” Cadpig growled.
“So what do we do, Lucky?” asked Rolly.
“Okay, here’s the plan,” Lucky explained. “Rolly, Cadpig and I are going to create a diversion for Cruella. Spot, while we have Cruella distracted, you sneak in and snag Roger’s trumpet and Anita’s sketchbook.”
“You got it, Lucky,” Spot saluted.
“Now, are you ready, troops?” asked Lucky.
“Ready!” said Rolly and Cadpig.
“Good!” said Lucky. “Now, let’s get dressed.”
Meanwhile, inside her mansion, Cruella was laughing over what she had in her possession. “Perfect,” she grinned. “Now that I have Anita’s designs, I can steal these designs and take all the credit for them. Then, I will be the #1 fashion designer instead of her! As for this trumpet, I can smelt it into brass that can be used for jewelry! That silly Roquefort will never play his trumpet again!” She laughed.
Just then, Cruella heard her doorbell ring. “Now, who could that be at this hour on Christmas Eve?” Cruella wondered.
Cruella went to her front door and answered it. Who was standing on her porch was Lucky, Cadpig and Rolly stacked up on each other in a trench coat and fedora. Lucky way on top, Cadpig was in the middle, and Rolly was on the bottom.
“Good evening, and a Happy Holidays to you,” said Lucky in a deep voice. “Am I speaking to the one and only Cruella De Vil?”
“You most certainly are,” said Cruella.
“My name is Larry C. Rolands,” said Lucky. “I run a fashion business of my own, and I have heard all about you. Would you mind if I stepped inside and spoke with you for a little bit?”
“Certainly,” said Cruella.
Rolly carefully walked inside. Once the pups were in, Spot quickly and secretly dashed inside before Cruella closed the door.
“So what brings you here on Christmas Eve?” asked Cruella.
“Well,” said Lucky. “I have heard about the incredible fashions you have done in your company. I have seen them on your website, and I must say, they are the best I have ever seen.”
“Are you serious?” Cruella gasped. “Nobody has ever said that to me before. Usually, one of my employees gets all the credit.”
“Well, then I must have a different perspective,” said Lucky.
Suddenly, a gap opened in the coat revealing Cadpig. She quickly hid again buttoning the coat back up so as not to get caught.
Lucky went on, “So out of curiosity’s sake, who is your #1 employee?”
“Well, I hate to admit it,” said Cruella, “but her name is Anita Dearly.”
“I see,” said Lucky. “Though you should admit, she is nothing without your brilliance. You deserve the credit much more than her.”
As they were talking, Spot found the sketchbook and trumpet and managed to get a hold of both of them. However, just as she was sneaking towards the window, she got caught by Scorch. Scorch gave chase to the chicken around the house. The pups noticed this but did their best to continue to keep Cruella stalled.
Soon, Spot made it out of a nearby window. Lucky saw her giving him a signal, so he wrapped up his conversation with Cruella: “Well, it’s been nice chatting with you, but I gotta get home to my family,” he said as he handed Cruella an index card. “If you are ever interested in my offer, just give me a call. Merry Christmas.”
The pups clumsily walked out of the mansion. They disassembled as soon as they were sure that it was safe to get out of their disguise.
Meanwhile, back at the farm, Roger and Anita were sitting in front of the fireplace.
“Oh, Roger, this is such a romantic Christmas Eve,” said Anita.
“I think it’s about time we opened our presents,” said Roger.
“Good idea,” said Anita.
They both exchanged their gifts and opened them. Roger’s present was a carrying case for his trumpet, and Anita’s present were painting utensils for her sketchbook. When they figured out what their presents were, both of their faces dropped.
“Roger, these are so beautiful,” said Anita, “but…I lost my sketchbook.”
Roger added, “And I gave away my trumpet.”
“Oh, Roger,” Anita said sadly. “I can’t believe you gave up your most prized possession for me.”
“It’s okay, Anita,” said Roger. “The only thing I want for Christmas is you.”
They hugged each other. But then suddenly, they heard puppies barking. Lucky, Rolly, Cadpig and Spot came running in bearing two presents.
“Lucky? Rolly? Cadpig?” Roger said.
“What is this? Presents for us?” Anita asked.
Roger and Anita both took the presents from the pups and opened them.
“My trumpet!” Roger shouted.
“My sketchbook!” Anita cheered.
“Well, this is certainly the best Christmas ever!” said Roger.
“It sure is,” said Lucky.
“Oh, I just love a happy ending!” said Cadpig.
“Hey, we’ve got a Christmas party to get to,” said Spot.
“Oh, that’s right!” gasped Lucky. “Come on, guys!”
The four ran back to the barn where the puppies were beginning their Christmas celebration. However, they noticed Pongo and Perdita were nowhere to be found.
Suddenly, the pups heard a deep, jolly, “Ho, ho, ho!”
Who should enter but Pongo and Perdita dressed up as Santa Claus. Pongo was on top and was sitting on Perdita’s shoulders as she stood on her hind legs underneath the costume. Pongo gave presents to all the puppies as Perdita peeked out and just smiled.
“Oh, papa!” cheered Rolly. “This really is the best Christmas ever!”
“What a way to cap off this beloved celebration!” sighed Cadpig.
“How can this possibly get any better?” asked Lucky.
“Oh, Lucky?” said a voice. Lucky turned around and saw Two-Tone giving him a sexy smile. She was standing under the mistletoe.
“Hot dog!” cheered Lucky as he ran right up to Two-Tone, and the two of them both licked each other on the muzzle.
The pups continued to have fun the rest of the night until it was bedtime, but they knew the next day was Christmas morning, which meant even more fun. The pups could hardly wait. Though, three particular pups and their chicken friend were all fully satisfied that they made things right for Roger and Anita, because they deserved happiness this Christmas more than they did.
