Okay, ladies and gents. I am proud to say that I have finally gotten a chance to see this movie. First off, I want to say that I knew this sequel was coming because that seems to be what Hollywood is doing nowadays, and also, the ending of the first movie really set the stage for a sequel.
I was tempted to see this movie since everybody went and saw it and would not stop hooting and hollering over how awesome it is. Well, I did check it out for myself just to see how "awesome" it truly was, and I'm afraid to say that I have one big problem with this movie......................................
It was BORING!!!
I mean, seriously. The first Transformers movie was bad enough, but this one was just as bad. First of all, much like the first movie, the Transformers action is really lacking, but at least they have larger roles in this movie. Also, we get to see some new characters, but nobody seems to be introduced. I mean who are these two annoying twin Autobots we see throughout the movie? Their names are never revealed! Also, I was told that Soundwave was in this movie, BUT HE WASN'T! WHY DID THEY HAVE TO F*CKING LIE???
It also took me a really long time to understand the plot of the movie, and I didn't get it until like an hour and a half into it. It also didn't help much that I was just bored to tears. It was way too long for someone like me to handle.
Honestly, I have no idea what the fans think is so awesome about these Transformers movies. They don't even stay true to the original cartoon. Not to mention, I was told that the Transformers theme song was going to be in this movie, BUT IT WASN'T!!!
What the hell is wrong with these people? What is it about this movie that is so awesome? It really makes me wonder what kind of euphoric gas was spread out in the theaters, because whatever it was, it had no affect on me.
So, yeah, in conclusion, this movie sucked. It didn't prove to be any better than the first one. I don't know if there is a third Transformers movie in the works, but if there is, I will not watch it. I don't care how awesome everyone may think it is, I just won't see it. After being tremendously disappointed with two movies, I am self aware that any further films in this franchise that come out will give me the same reaction.

How close were you watching, Soundwave was in the movie. He's the satellite-hijacking Decepticon.
Admittedly it wasn't as good as the first. If you are curious what makes it awesome look at the numerous giant robot fights, like the opening battle in Hong Kong was pretty sweet. The films themselves aren't based totally off the old 80s cartooon but on the Transformers franchise in general.
What do you actually like in movies Belchic?

Ooh, I remember seeing this movie back in January or so when I went on a ski trip with my school's club. When we were leaving the lodge to go back to our school, we watched this movie. Seriously, I couldn't follow that movie. The plotline jumped around too much for me, and there seemed to be too much going on at once. It was a bit like when we watched "Star Trek" on the way there, I couldn't follow that, either.
On the other hand, I'm not much of a Transformers fan, but this truly was a pretty boring and hard-to-follow movie.

He didn't look like the Soundwave from the cartoon at all! Also, why didn't he talk in a monotone like he did in the show?

You say, "Why doesn't he sound like his, Animated Series, Version"?
Race just mentioned in the previous post, "The films themselves aren't based totally off the old 80s cartooon but on the Transformers franchise in general."
The, Franchise began as, Toys, I am sure that there were some children before the, Animated Series playing with those toys and gave them completely different personalities too. They don't put the "Robots In Disguise" music theme on, so why do you think it can be based on the, Animated Series than being, A version if it's own? o.O If they copied the, Animated Series in everything, we wouldn't be getting anything fresh or new would we? o.O

That was Soundwave and he had the exact same VA, Frank Welker, as he did on the show (a rarity among the movie characters). He even spoke the same way as he did for the show, basically using his "Doctor Claw" voice from Inspector Gadget. The only thing different was they didn't modulate the recording with a vocoder like they did for the show.
He didn't look like his version for the show for 2 reasons... 1. The Transformers films in general do not have "mass shifting" characters, a small car = a small robot etc. 2. To modern society, cassette players like his original alt mode are completely irrelevent. They had to update the character because times changed.

So....where was the iPod transformer? Or the Wii transformer?
Seriously though, I have to say, that is one thing I didn't like about Soundwave in the movie, he wasn't the same one I had come to love. Yes, Soundwave, from the animated series, the original one that does them justice, was one of my favourite transformers of all time.
But I can see your point RaceFan on it. I actually used to have a few Transformer toys myself, one being none other than Optimus Prime himself, original truck version, no flames on him....and yes, he had one of those talking module....things with him as well that says "I'm Optimus Prime!" as well as two other voices XD
So really Belchic, I have to say that RaceFan is still correct, they were based upon the toys first. And of course, they like to update things as time goes by. Granted, they did keep Jetfire as an older plane sort of thing....complete with a cane! lol.

I think I see where you're getting at. I guess the reason these movies didn't click with me is because they were made for the new generation audiences. Even if I was looking at these films as a new experience, I still probably wouldn't have liked them that much.

I just read a few things that have been reported for the third movie: This was all taken from the following link: movies.yahoo.com/feature/movie-talk-transformers-fans-to-receive-a-shock.html-Michael bay admits that Revenge of the Fallen deserved some of the slack it was getting. Now, he's trying to fix it. -Shia LaBoeuf is going to come back with a different girlfriend (Megan Fox reportedly won't be in the third movie) -One of the new villains in this movie is going to be Shockwave!

I read those earlier on that Shockwave is to be in the next move as well as what Michael Bay had to say about Revenge of the Fallen....not to mention already knowing that Megan Fox isn't going to be in the third movie.
I just hope that they give Shockwave quiet a bit of a screentime, unlike with what they did to Soundwave, not giving him enough screentime.

I hope so too Drake.
Side note is I have pre-ordered a copy of Transformers: War for Cybertron for my XBox 360 (yes, I now own an XBox 360!)

You have an Xbox 360? You'll have to PM me your username so I can add you as a friend on there ^^
I too am waiting for that game, but for my PS3 ^^
Back on topic about the movie....I do wonder if Soundwave will return in the third movie, cause I do hope that he does.

I wonder what other 80's fads we're gonna see make a comeback. I mean, lately, we've had Inspector Gadget, TMNT, Transformers, Alvin and the Chipmunks and G.I. Joe make a comeback. We've also seen new Rocky, Rambo, Die Hard, Terminator and Indiana Jones movies. I know we've got Thundercats coming up. I'm pretty sure that we'll have a He-Man movie to look forward to (and there'll probably be a sequel with She-Ra). There have been rumors about a new Ghostbusters movie, and we could also get a new Karate Kid and Back to the Future. Who knows? In Summer 2011 there's going to be a new CGI animated movie about the Smurfs. Not Smurfin' ya.

I hear it's set in the rough parts of town with themes of, them working together...Yeah...Cause that was successful when they made the, First movie, eh? o.O Seriously, It looks like, Hollywood can't think up of any original ideas so they have to rip off ideas from our young areas. Seriously, Hollywood can be more original with items like this? O.O

I'm actually thinking of writing a couple novels and hoping to get them published and made into movies, one of which I'm also hoping will wind up being a pilot to a cartoon series. Only time will tell if such will happen, though.
