d**n...I'd automatically be 3% down...I tend to keep my genius to myself in class. It'd be a nice thing to learn, if you're looking to go into animation or filmmaking, or if you just like Disney in general. But discussing movies? For a class? I think I could do that.

Well, if I can find out there's a way to make this class become a reality, I will definately do it!

Ah, Yeah! I remember when you were talking to me about this, Belchic! =3
I will say, it is definately a Class, I would like to look at. ;3 In my, Media class, we have to look at, British Films from, Vertigo, which is pretty much the same thing every movie (Brittish People swear more, than the AVGN, Drugs, Violence, everyone lives in flats. Geez, What ever happened to the Upbeat British Comedies?)
But, Disney is something that can hook you and something you could get behind. ;3 So, Yeah! =3 It would be a class, I would like to check myself. =3
Neat idea, Belchic. ;3 Looking forward what develops with this, idea. *Hugs* X3

When I think about that extra credit project I talked about there, I wondered which movies my students would choose. I could just imagine how many times I'd have to hear about "Snow White" "Aladdin" and "The Lion King", though!

Princess and the Frog isn't CGI...
It was Disney's first traditionally animated film in over a decade...
And all of this is already a class... Although in my school it is 2 classes...

-nods-
I actually heard about The Princess and the Frog about a year before it came out.. .Had the privelage of being at a convention where Floyd Norman, a Disney animator, was the guest of honor. He talked about this film and mentioned specifically that it was a traditionally animated film...
If you go on youtube, you should be able to see some pencil drawn scenes...

History of animation Film theory I have three things to say about this post, Oddy. 1. Where does it say anywhere above your posts where "The Princess and the Frog" was a CGI film? I don't recall anyone previously saying that. 2. It's not their first in over a decade. Excluding the DTV sequels, "Home on the Range" was released only 5 years before "Princess/Frog". 3. Does that class really exist? Is it on Disney animation, or just animation in general? Well, it may exist as a class, but I do know for a fact that my school doesn't offer it, nor does any other local college or university around me.

Here's something interesting I felt like bringing up for discussion. I know that some of the Disney Animated Features had rides based on them in the Disney theme parks. However, I'm going to list the ones that don't have rides based on them (at least as far as I know) and make a guess on which themed land it would work best in. They don't all have to be Fantasyland just because they're animated movies. But anyway, here's what I predict:
Fantasia: Fantasyland Bambi: Fronteirland Saludos Amigos: Fronteirland Fun and Fancy Free: Fantasyland Cinderella: Fantasyland Lady and the Tramp: Main Street U.S.A. 101 Dalmatians: Fantasyland The Sword in the Stone: Fantasyland The Jungle Book: Adventureland The Aristocats: Fantasyland Robin Hood: Fantasyland The Rescuers: Critter Country The Fox and the Hound: Critter Country The Black Cauldron: Fantasyland The Great Mouse Detective: Fantasyland Oliver & Company: Tomorrowland The Rescuers Down Under: Adventureland Beauty and the Beast: Fantasyland The Lion King: Adventureland Pocahontas: Fronteirland The Hunchback of Notre Dame: Fantasyland Hercules: Fantasyland Mulan: Fantasyland Dinosaur: Adventureland The Emperor's New Groove: Adventureland Atlantis: Tomorrowland Treasure Planet: Tomorrowland Brother Bear: Critter Country Home on the Range: Fronteirland Chicken Little: Tomorrowland Meet the Robinsons: Tomorrowland Bolt: Tomorrowland The Princess and the Frog: New Orleans Square Tangled: Fantasyland
Any that I didn't list are films that I know for sure have rides based on them in at least one of the theme parks.

Hmmm, Seems like an Interesting Seduction, Belchic! ;3
Although, What if we added some rides, like the "101 Dalmatians" or "Oliver" ones in the other Parks, Like California Adventure or Hollywood Studios? Those Parks feel more suited for "101 Dalmatians", I think.
I also think, Mulan would be more suited to Adventureland, since I believe that area already has the Jungle and some Asia bits (Although, We could put it in Epcot in Florida). ;3 Maybe Hercules in Adventureland too.
Atlantis, Treasure Planet & Chicken Little can work in Tommorrowland though! =3
Still, seems like some nice estimates, Belchic! ;3 I'll take a look and see if there are any other locations we can put the Films! *Hugs* X3
What you, Pups say? =3

Well, you see, bab, when it comes to making rides based on Disney's animated movies, if they can't think of which themed land to put it in, Fantasyland is usually the default. I didn't think about EPCOT or California Adventure, or any of the other outside parks not within the Magic Kingdom because if I did, I'd need to consider the ones they have in Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong, which I don't know very much about; however, some of the movies I listed could actually work in Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida, which actually has a ride loosely based on Dinosaur.

Here's something interesting I thought up for discussion. I'm going to list all the Disney Animated Features that I know of that have had video games based on them. Now, keep in mind that these are all direct video games based on the movies. I am not going to list any spin-off games where characters from the movies appeared like "Kingdom Hearts" or "Epic Mickey". I'm also not going to include any games like "Escape from De Vil Manor" or "Jungle Book Jungle Boogie" (or whatever it's called). These are just the ones that I know of that have video games based specifically on the movie that follow the events of the movie (more or less). Anyway, here we go:
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves Platform: Game Boy Advance Year: 2001
Pinocchio Platform: Super NES / Sega Genesis Year: 1996
Fantasia Platform: Sega Genesis Year: 1991
The Jungle Book Platform: NES, Super NES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear Year: 1994
The Little Mermaid Platform: NES, Sega Genesis Year: 1990
Beauty and the Beast Platform: NES (UK only), Sega Genesis Year: NES - 1994, Sega Genesis (2 versions) - 1993
Aladdin Platform: Sega Genesis, Super NES, Game Gear Year: 1993
The Lion King Platform: Sega Genesis, Super NES, Game Gear, NES (UK only), Sega Master System (UK only) Year: 1994
Pocahontas Platform: Sega Genesis Year: 1995
Hercules Platform: PS1 Year: 1997
Atlantis Platform: PS2 Year: 2001
Meet the Robinsons Platform: Wii Year: 2007
Bolt Platform: Wii Year: 2008
Tangled Platform: Wii Year: 2010
Those are the only ones I know of. Anyone know of any others?

Well, Technically, The Bolt game ISN'T based off the Events of the Movie. ^^; It's based more of the Television show, SET IN the Movie. Not a Game of Bolt trying to get back to Hollywood. So that one counts more of a Spin Off Game and based on ONE Scene in the Movie. ;3
Say, Do Pixar Movies count in this? Or is it just Disney (minus Pixar)?
I heard there was a Game of "Patch's London Adventure", would that count too? =3

No, the Pixar movies don't count here. If you want to discuss those, go to the Pixar thread. I don't know why so many people think the Pixar films count as Disney Animated Features.
Also, no, Patch's London Adventure doesn't count either. That one is based on a DTV sequel. I still think that game is a knock-off.
