This is the last repost of my pics, and they're all screens from my made-up Dalmatian game show
Wordplex, which is based on an NBC game show taped in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada called
Caesars Challenge. Since there's nothing else to put in this post, I'll go over the rules of
Caesars Challenge, post the screens of
Wordplex, explain the differences on
Wordplex, and go over a quick recap of the episode posted here.
Caesars Challenge was hosted by Ahmad Rashad and co-hosted by Dan Doherty, who is dressed up as a gladiator. There are three players competing for money by answering questions and unscrambling words. Gladiator Doherty would pull a lever to reveal a scrambled word in a slot machine with nine monitors. Host Rashad would reveal the subject of the word to everyone, but this was later changed to only the home viewers knowing the subject and would be revealed to everyone else after a word is solved. Rashad would ask multiple-choice questions that pertains to the subject of the word currently in play. The player who buzzed in and answered a question correctly earns money and gets to choose a letter to place in its proper position of the word, and then gets five seconds to solve the word. If the first two players who buzzed in are wrong, the remaining player automatically wins money and choice of letter. Anytime a player solves a word, they get more money added to their score for each remaining letter. Each word also has one letter that is signified as a Lucky Slot. If a player picks a letter that goes into the Lucky Slot and solves the word immediately, they also add to their score an instant jackpot that starts each day at $500 and increase by that much on each new word if it's not won. If the instant jackpot was won, it would start back at $500 on the next word.
The three players play three rounds. Two seven-letter words are played in round one, two eight-letter words are played in round two, and as many nine-letter words as time allowed are played in round three. Each question and unplaced letter is worth $100 in round one, $200 in round two, and $300 in round three.
Anytime in round three, a car horn would sound to signal that time is running out, so the contestants would play a speed-up round. The Lucky Slot will be out of play, and the letters will be moved to their proper positions of the word one at a time. A player who buzzed in and solved the word wins the remaining dollars. But if they're wrong, they are locked out for the rest of the speed-up round. The player with the most money wins the game and keeps their money. Originally, winning players would use their winnings to shop for a prize, but they later received a prize package whose value is equal to the cash they won. So, all the money won on this show were in prizes instead of cash.
There were two different bonus rounds. In both of them, winning contestants play for a car, and they would retire from the show once they won. If they don't win the bonus round, they come back on the next episode.
The first bonus round has lettered bingo balls rolling out of a cage and down a ramp. As this happens, Doherty would call out the letters on the balls that came out. This process continues until the announcer of the show, Steve Day, echoes the phrase, "Caesar says stop!", which means that at least one dictionary-certified word with nine letters can be formed. The producers will choose that word, and Doherty would use his sword to reveal the letters of that word in the order they came down the ramp on the nine-monitor slot machine. For each day a player appeared on the show, they get to choose one letter to move into its proper position of the word. Once those letters are placed into their proper positions, the player has ten seconds to solve the word. If a player fails at the bonus round seven times, they are guaranteed an automatic car win without having to play the bonus round if they win their eighth game.
At the time the subjects of the words in the main game were revealed to only the home viewers, the second bonus round was introduced. Doherty pulls open a pair of curtains to reveal five scrambled words on a game board. The first word is five letters long, and each word after that increases in length by one letter, with the fifth word being nine letters long. To win, the player has to unscramble all five words in thirty seconds, with the letters of the current word moving to their proper positions one at a time. With this bonus round, players retire from the show after three days, even if they don't win the car on their third day.
At the end of each episode, an audience game was played. Doherty would carry around a bowl of casino tickets and chocolate medallions wrapped in gold foil, while Rashad would give members of the studio audience a chance to win a handful by unscrambling five-letter words from the slot machine monitors.
Now that I'm done explaining how
Caesars Challenge is played, let's take a look at the screens from
Wordplex.
These are the screens! And these are the differences I made for this show:
*Couples play the game instead of individual players.
*Contestants play for Dalmatian dollars (the currency I made up with the characters' faces on the bills) instead of American dollars.
*The subjects of the words in play are always revealed to everyone, and they act more like clues than subjects.
*Questions in this game do not pertain to the subject of the current word.
*A question is thrown out if the first two couples gave a wrong answer, and a new question was asked.
*Values of the questions remain the same. Each word, though, is worth a flat DAL$1,000 in round one, a flat DAL$2,000 in round two, and a flat DAL$3,000 in round three.
*All money won in this game is in cash instead of prizes.
*Rather than a car, winning couples play for a vacation and a Winner's Jackpot that starts at DAL$50,000 and increases by whatever money scored by the losing couples until won.
*The first bonus round from the regular show is used in the entire run of this show.
*There is no announcer on the show, so instead of someone echoing, "Caesar says stop!", an alarm clock sound effect sounds to signal that at least one dictionary-certified word with nine letters can be formed.
*The letters of a nine-letter word appear on the slot machine monitors without the co-host having to use a prop to reveal the letters.
*The co-host is not dressed as a gladiator.
*There is no audience game at the end of the show.
This show is hosted by Tony and co-hosted by Flo. It ran twice as long as the regular show did. After the show was cancelled, Flo and Tony would work on other game shows with Flo as host and Tony as announcer.
The three couples in this episode are Priscilla and Patch, Two-Tone and Lucky, and Perdita and Pongo. Priscilla and Patch are returning champions on this episode with a three-day total of DAL$44,400, and this is their fourth day on this show. The three couples are playing for a trip to Hawaii and the Winner's Jackpot, which now stands at DAL$100,600. Priscilla and Patch ended up winning the game with DAL$12,900. Now, they got a total of DAL$57,300. Two-Tone and Lucky ended up with DAL$5,600. Perdita and Pongo ended up with DAL$2,900. The scores of the losing couples are combined and added to the Winner's Jackpot, which now stands at DAL$109,100. Priscilla and Patch played the bonus round for the fourth time, meaning that they get to choose four letters to move in their proper positions of the word. They won the bonus round with the word "pineapple", and this wins them a trip to Hawaii and a grand total of DAL$166,400! Because Priscilla and Patch won the bonus round, they are retiring undefeated from the show, the Winner's Jackpot will start back at DAL$50,000 on the next episode, and three new couples will compete on that next game.
And that's it! Everything from my deleted fan art thread is back up. I can't believe I posted 96 pages worth of pics in just two pages on my reinstated thread! It may take minutes for all the pics to load because I put about 20 pages worth of pics on almost every post, but at least you don't have to go through so many pages to look for the pics you want to see.
Now that I got all this out of the way, I will soon go back to posting new pics in the usual way I do. Until then, thanks for looking at my reposted art thread.
