Didn't seem like that to me, Belchic =s
Still, i would agree on Race on the matter of why Roger chose Spot instead of other background pups, because since all the other pups were back at the farm and they were in the Dog Track in Gruteley or Stiffle (which is Miles away) And they were restricted by time. So Roger wouldn't have had enough time to go back to the farm and get another pup. Otherwise be disqualified. =s
Still, i am still unsure on how they allowed a Chicken to win either. If other puppies were there, i'm sure Roger would have chosen them. ;3

A question for the ones who want to eliminate Spot: Would you also like to eliminate Captain, Sgt Tibs, the cows, Scorch, Waddlesworth...? and even the humans? Well those who want Spot eliminated wouldn't want those other characters eliminated, because some of them are supporting characters that appear in more than one media in the 101D franchise.

They needed an entry in a hurry, they only brought Spot and the pups and the pups were locked in a van. They didn't have time to go get another dog, who wouldn't have been trained anyway, so Spot was the only option, not to mention she was more qualified at dog show etiquette than the pups. As Lucky put it, "the best dog won." whoa hold on Race. Did you just say Spot is more qualified at being a show dog than say Perdita? Two-Tone? Jewel? Penny? or any other female dalmatian on the farm? (other than Cadpig but she was in a sack at the time thanks to Horace and Jasper)

Well, i assume he means that since since the main pups (inclueding Spot) were the only ones to go to a show dog training class, she be more qualified then. It's like saying you may be more qualified to star in a movie than a model because you've been to an acting school.
That's my guess. ;3

true but you never know, one of the girl pups might have the ambition to be a show dog and probably would have won paws down against Vandella

I can guess who you believe would have won the contest if given the opportunity X3
Maybe, but given the scenerio they had at the time, Spot was what they were stuck with.

Screw the Mary Sue nonsense, she's one of the main canon characters. Is it Mary Sue-ish Lucky was selected for a dog food commercial and won a dogfight in space without using a single weapon, that Rolly won the Puppy Race against all odds/reason and won the fire dog contest or that Cadpig proved to be intergalatic messenger and a very effective hostage negotiator? All the main pups got their own big over-the-top moments, Spot is due a couple just like the rest.
And yes in one episode she was turned into a dog in a magic-implied situation in a series that otherwise did not involve magic. However given the context of the series I think back when the show was on all us fans wanted to see that happen, if albeit just for that one episode, so the production team made that episode to throw us a proverbial bone. It was cool to get to see Spot live her dream and judging by comments on this board "Spot's Fairy Godchicken" is one of the favorite Spot-centric episodes. Some on TV.com and other sites have rightfully suggested that episode would have been a better choice to be one of the full 22-minute ones because it felt a little rushed and there is so much more they could have done with that premise, think how Cornelia would reacted to her daughter changing species! (I know they have to teach the kids "it's better to just be who you are" but I wish they would have just left her a dog, the show was only 4 episodes away from ending {3 of which were the finale} and let's be frank being canine is better than being a chicken in the majority of the Western world because of the whole food chain thing.)

okay I can see some mary-sue/gary-stu in the main three pups but Spot? it's still rediculous to me that she can win a dog show without being a dog

Whilst i do agree that Spot was somewhat Mary Sueish during "Devil Age Elder" You think that Spot not being immune to the curse and loving Devil Ville, meaning that Lucky would stay and forever love; Rebecca being better than her having the ability to break the curse, Two-Tone? B3
But i do find calling Spot a Mary Sue to be a bit desparate. I mean, you seem to pass Lucky being voted as Mayor of the farm, along with Cadpig being able to take down one of the worlds toughest dog with ease, yet you can't pass for Spot?

true, if Spot wasn't mary-sue-ish Two-Tone would be mateless as her mate would be stuck with Rebecca, that one I'll let Spot slide for since she needed to do that to save everybody from DeVilville
well yeah the main pups do have mary-sue-ish moments but not as blaitanly as Spot did, I mean you dont see Lucky changing species (well he did once but it was a nightmare he had) or having immunity like Spot did but having a mary-sue around is a good thing cept if said mary-sue wasn't the Wesly Crusher of the show

Well be fair on the immunity, it wasn't JUST for Spot, it was for all chickens. So it wouldn't be just her who posessed that immunity.
Plus, like I said, calling her a Mary Sue is desparate, i mean; she did have notable flaws (e.g. Worrying over the smallest things) and i wouldn't consider her to be a Wesly Crusher. There are far worsers things to do to be named a Mary Sue. ;3
