T.U.F.F Puppy does indeed look like a dog version of "Get Smart." toonbarn.com/2010/04/t-u-f-f-puppy-updates/It appears they went for the "whole world is populated by smart animals" approach, which admittedly does lessen the comparsions to "Cats & Dogs" or "Secret Files of the Spy Dogs." Good timing though as the former is getting a sequel this year "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore."

Thanks for the updates, Huntsman ;D Jerry Trainor as Dudley, huh? I'm interested to see how that turns out.

Jerry Trainor's casting should tell right off the bat what they were going for. He played an eccentric and well-meaning but not exactly intelligent guy on the live-action program "iCarly" (never liked that show, they made the lead actress too hateable on "Drake and Josh" to like her on the new show). If that's what they were going for they hit the mark.
"I was hoping that the series would be more like Danny Phantom, but it seems to be more of a comedy and I don't think people should watch it expecting grand plots. It could still be a fun series, but I'm disappointed that Dudley Puppy is so dumb in those clips." It's quite possible that's only a starting point and that if the series has any staying power (it looks like Nick only ordered 13 episodes) that may change. Butch Hartman shows tend to develop over their runs, Danny Phantom started out more comedic (although not full-on comedy) and then darkened up and got more complex in its second season. Of course on the other side of the coin Fairly Oddparents started out comedic and then eventually cranked the humor up in ways that derailed the characters and wrecked the show.
Anybody else notice the "Ancient Artifact" driving the plot has a name that is a direct pun on Krugerrand, a South African gold coin. Nice bonus for the older audience and that's a good sign. Nobody but gold collectors or people who saw Lethal Weapon 2 know what Krugerrands are.
