Okay, here's another one of those "Random Facts" kinds of topics, only instead of facts, this time it's questions. If there is something about the franchise that is confusing you and you want to ask a question about it, whether it be from the series, one of the movies, or whatever, just ask it here. However, make sure every question that is posted here gets numbered! I don't want this to end up becoming a lost topic like the "Stupid Questions" topic. The reason I want you to number the questions is because if somebody has an answer to that question, and it's not the previous one, they could say, "Answer to Question #1..." or something like that. Also, the next person who posts does not have to answer the previous person's question. This is more of an open discussion topic. I look forward to seeing you pups try it out, so let's get going.
Here's a question I just came up with not too long ago, and I've been meaning to ask someone about it:
Question #1: In the original movie, when Pongo and Perdita's puppies are watching TV while they're being held captive by Horace and Jasper, they are watching a cartoon of some kind with dancing flowers. What I want to know is what cartoon are they watching? Is it a real cartoon? Was it made by Disney? If it was, I guess you can say this was the first time Disney had ever shown one of their own creations within one of their movies. The only thing that comes into my head is the 1932 featurette, "Flowers and Trees", but I know it's not that because I know how that cartoon went. Besides, what they were watching was in black & white, and "Flowers and Trees" is most famous for being the very first cartoon to be shown in TechnicolorTM. So anyone have an answer to that?

A. Well...Consider it's one of the Old Fashion Televisions. Televisions really didn't turn to Colour til the late 60's. "101 Dalmatians" is set in the Early Sixties. So, The Film may have been made in Colour, But Television wasn't yet. ;3 However, Yeah. I do believe that it is a Pre-Exsisting Silly Sympthony known as "Spring Time" And it was in Black & White. Link should be here. ;3 www.youtube.com/watch?v=POQKQqfC8hMA Question I have is... Roger uses Cruella's Likeness in his Song of her in the "Animated" and his Video Game in "Live Action". Wouldn't he get in trouble for using someone's likeness and insulting it? I can guess it may be Okay in the "Live Action" since she was convicted, although, would he still get in trouble? What you think, Pups? *Hugs* X3

I'm not sure how British laws are regarding that but in the United States there are laws about slander that could come into play. If you can whatever you want about people who are dead but living people can sue. The statements in the song would have to be face and made with actual malice then cause legitmate damage to her image. Of course factoring in Cruella's arrest for something totally unrelated at the exact same time (even in the animated film she got nailed but managed to dodge jail) and this takes on a new level. In short, like anything legal, it would be complicated.
The mother of all series questions: Did Tripod lose his arm or was he just born that way?

He was probably born that way. It's uncommon for humans and animals to have birth disorders, but it's not anything out of the ordinary. It's happened several times.
Q: If Cadpig were a character in the movie, what do you think her personality would have been like? (My guess: probably similar to the series, only down-played and not as extreme. They did that with Lucky and Rolly. In the series, they emphasized more on Lucky's addiction to TV and Rolly's addiction to food.)

A: Sounds about right to me
Q: Is Anita's car in the series a New Beetle convertible? I think it looks like one (they didn't make one when the show aired but it got one later)

A. Well...I remember there was an Episode, "Two Faces Of Anita", where Cruella drives Anita's Car. She says something like "Dirty little, Ol'Dra Lobby" or something like that. Could have been Ultra Lobby. Check the Episode for yourself, if you can guess what it is. ^^;
Although, It does look a bit like a Beetle Convertable, I will agree. ;3
A. I may have asked this in a Fic of mine once, although. In "101 Dalmatians The Series", how come Anita still works for the House Of Devil? I recall in the "Live Action" one, Cruella fired her for not selling her the Puppies and it be pretty hard to go back to work for someone who tried to kill your family.
So, Why you think, Anita still woks for, Cruella, Pups? *Hugs* X3

A: The show implied a few times that Anita is just loyal to Cruella. "Robo Rolly" implied she also pays her a bundle to do a good job and turn the other chick on Cruella's misdeeds.
Plus firing an employee for a trivial non-work offense (like not selling you dogs on the belief you'd KILL them) is probably a real good way to get sued.
(And General's right, she said "Jalopy" which is slang for a junky car. Pete used the same term to describe Goofy's little Geo Tracker-esque car in 'Goof Troop')
Q: Why hasn't Tibbs been promoted above the rank of Sgt yet?

A: Probably because Colonel and Captain are bigger than him, so it makes more sense for them to have the higher ranks.
(Now, let's go back to the tradition of NUMBERING the questions, which NOBODY has done yet.)
Question #8: This is actually concerning a shout-out to the movie in another Disney movie. In Air Buddies, the drive-in movie segment is known for featuring the animated 101 Dalmatians. This blows my mind on so many levels!
- First of all, do drive-in movies even exist anymore? - Second of all, why would any movie theater (drive-in or otherwise) show 101 Dalmatians? Movies don't make theatrical reissues anymore, except on rare occassions, and I don't think 101 Dalmatians would be one to do that! - Third, everybody watching the movie in the scene seems to be enjoying it, even a gang of bikers! I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the movie, and it's a great movie, but WHY WOULD SUCH AN AUDIENCE BE SO MESMERIZED BY SUCH A FILM? - Fourth, the movie itself. Okay, it's 101 Dalmatians, a movie about dogs, and it's within Air Buddies, which also happens to be about dogs. I get the connection. However, wouldn't it make more sense for them to show one of the more popular and more well-known Disney films? What about Lady and the Tramp? That movie is about dogs. Now, granted, I know they already showed that one in 102 Dalmatians, but still, IT'S A LOT MORE POPULAR THAN 101 DALMATIANS! - Fifth, during this scene, one of the Buddies claims that the movie is his favorite movie, but I don't know which one said it, and if it is his favorite movie, then why is he not watching it? - And sixth, I can't grasp the fact that a Disney movie is playing within another Disney movie. Are we running into some kind of paradox here, or what?

- First of all, do drive-in movies even exist anymore?
Yes, they are very rare but still exist.
- Second of all, why would any movie theater (drive-in or otherwise) show 101 Dalmatians? Movies don't make theatrical reissues anymore, except on rare occassions, and I don't think 101 Dalmatians would be one to do that!
Smaller community-type theaters outside chains frequently show old movies on one-ff shows. I saw "Grease" in a theater during my college days and the live-action 101 showed up for a one-time show at a community theater in my town last year.
"Rule of Funny" applies. And gangs of bikers are not as evil as they are made out to be. Plus it's a good flick.
Lady and the Tramp can be a cliche and as it had been done. 101 is something different and as said remains a popular film.
- Fifth, during this scene, one of the Buddies claims that the movie is his favorite movie, but I don't know which one said it, and if it is his favorite movie, then why is he not watching it?
I don't know, I haven't seen the movie. Maybe he was busy. The whole Air Bud franchise flammed out after the second one (seriously, in the fourth one Air Bud wins the World Series despite never playing anything above like high school ball...what the hell?). I like a lot Golden Retrievers, my only dog was one and I still miss him, but that franchise didn't measure up.
- And sixth, I can't grasp the fact that a Disney movie is playing within another Disney movie. Are we running into some kind of paradox here, or what?
No, they own the rights and it fights the scenario so why not use it and get their money's worth.
Q: What are the things you have to do to stay second-in-command?

To answer your question Belchic yes, drive-in theatres exist. I don't live very far away from one.

To answer, Race. I think to stay 'Second In Command', it probably mainly depends on being a stick up to your superior officer. Meaning you do anything for them, No matter, how odd, it seems. o.O
I got a question. ;3
Q9. If Captain, the Horse, had the Rank of Captain, amongst The Colonel & Sgt. Tibbs, How come we havn't seen him teach any, 'Bark Brigade' Classes? He does Outrank, Lt. Pug, technically.
What you think on this matter, Pups? *Hugs* X3

A: Captain is probably way too big to be working with the pups. He'd take up too much space and probably crush them with his hooves.
Q: If 101 Dalmatians really is one of Disney's most popular movies, how come I don't see it very often?

A. Well, There are a number of factors.
One is the fact, Characters are smoking, I mean, both Cruella & Roger smoke, along with Jasper, and for some dumb reason, people have to censor Smoking on Children's Television, despite the fact, they'll most likely see their own parent doing it, in the Kitchen! ^^;
Another Factor, is that they do also use the Word, Hell, in the Movie. And chances are most likely, they have to censor the Word, Hell as well.
It all comes to stupid, "PROTECT THE CHILDREN" lark, really. =s
Q. If you are looking out of the Main Big Doors from the Dearly Farm Barn. What direction would, Cruella's Place, Villa Devil, most likely be?
What do you think here, Pups? *Hugs* X3

A: It's to the right isn't it? Pretty sure it would be on the right
Q: Why is it called the "Bark Brigade" when it also admits animals other than dogs? (Tibbs, Captain, Spot)

Post by babclayman on Sept 27, 2011 5:20:50 GMT -5
A. Well, It's mainly made up of Dog intincts in it, like 'Barking Codes' and stuff like that. ;3
Although, Like mentioned above, Captain was never seen in a "Bark Brigade" Session. With Tibbs, I guess, he & the Colonel are very good friends, so Colonel makes acceptions.
With Spot, even LT. Pug makes a point on saying she's not a Dog. Although, not, Spot WANTS to be a Dog, so she forfills the role by...Spirit maybe?
Does that work? =3
Q. Where on Earth are, Aunt Coco & Uncle Beamer’s Humans? Lucky spent a couple of days with them and the only Human, we saw with them was their Butler, Gigot.
So, Where their Humans? Is it like in AC, where the Animals inherited the Family Manor or, Cuddly suspected that Gilgot was their Human, who just got into serving them.
What do you think, Pups? *Hugs* X3
