On my fanfic called Baggage, Cloudy tries to get one of three girls to be his date. And if you've read it, I think you know what happened already. I'm doing another fanfic based on the dating show of the same name, and it's a separate episode from the one I did; in this one, Carolina is gonna try getting of three guys to be her date. So, here's part one, where Carolina will meet the three boys and the secrets in the small suitcases.
***
In a room off stage, a teenage female Dalmatian stands behind a podium with a red suitcase on it. The Dalmatian has long, red hair and wears a purple shirt, a pair of aqua pants, and a pair of gray mocassins.
"This is Carolina," said Cadpig's voice, "and she's got a secret hidden inside that red bag. Has she seen every episode of Teletubbies at least fifty times? Will she dump a guy if he tells her what to do with her hair? Did she wet her sister's bed...on purpose? We'll open up that bag and a whole lot more, coming up on Baggage!"
The audience applauded, and then the show's theme music starts playing. As the theme music plays, a sequence of people carrying and wheeling their suitcases around a city at night is shown. During the sequence, the following phrases were shown: "Everybody has secrets", "I live with my ex", "I have two shrinks", and "What's your baggage?" The sequence ended after the hands of a woman opens up a suitcase, which reveals the Baggage logo. The screen then flashes to the set of the show, with Cadpig standing in the center and the audience cheering and applauding.
"Good evening, everybody, and welcome to Baggage!" said Cadpig. "I'm Cadpig Dearly, and we have a girl in the back looking for a date. She wants a boyfriend, but didn't give herself any time to find one. Maybe she'll end up having one at the end of the show and go on a date with him. She's a babysitter's assistant. Let's all welcome Carolina!"
The audience cheered and applauded again as Carolina enters the set and meets Cadpig in the center.
"Welcome to the show, Carolina," said Cadpig, shaking Carolina's hand. "Nice to have you here."
"Thanks, Cadpig," said Carolina. "It's great to be here."
"Great. Now, you help someone with babysitting?"
"Yes. I help my best friend Jade with babysitting everytime she calls me over, and I love helping her out on it. Not only do I like helping my best friend babysit, but I also like babies and little kid shows. And to be honest, I've been spending so much time with Jade and her boyfriend Slide that I didn't take any time to look for a boyfriend of my own."
"Okay. And what kind of boy are you looking for?"
"Well, I'm not looking for a big, muscular guy. What I'm looking for is a guy who is short and chubby, has a sweet personality, and doesn't mind dressing up as one of the Teletubbies in bed."
The audience cheered wildly after Carolina finished explaining what kind of guy she is looking for. Seconds later, the audience fell quiet, and Cadpig looked at Carolina, bewildered.
"Okay," Cadpig said in a tone that expresses confusion, and the audience let out some laughter. "Well, I just met three short, chubby guys, and they all seem really nice. But to help you choose which one of them you want, you have to take a look at the baggage they brought with them. So, how about we meet them now?"
"I'd love to," said Carolina.
"All right. He's from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and he wants to cook at a Chinese restaurant. Let's give a big welcome to Panda!"
The audience applauded when the first boy came on the right side of the set, where there are three small suitcases and three medium-sized ones placed on podiums. The first boy wheeled a large suitcase to the first small and medium-sized suitcases. He has a spot pattern that resembles markings on a panda bear and wears a red shirt with a yellow vertical stripe on the sides, a pair of jeans, and a pair of brown shoes.
"Hi, Carolina," said Panda. "My name is Panda. I'm not Chinese, but I love to eat Chinese food. If you choose me, though, I'll cook any kind of food you want."
The audience applauded after Panda's introduction.
"That sounds great," Carolina said to Panda.
"Up next, he's from Los Angeles, California, and he wants to be a rockstar," said Cadpig. "Let's give a big hand to Whirlwind!"
The audience applauded when the second boy came on the set and wheeled a large suitcase to the next small and medium-sized suitcases. He has a large spot in the shape of a swirl on each ear and wears a white shirt, a black leather jacket, a pair of jeans supported by a brown belt with a yellow buckle, and a pair of black shoes.
"Hey, Carolina," said Whirlwind. "I'm Whirlwind, and I'm into rock music. Pick me, and I'll always make good music for you."
The audience applauded after Whirlwind's introduction.
"Nice," Carolina said to Whirlwind.
"Finally, he's from New York City, New York, and he wants to be a construction worker," said Cadpig. "Let's say 'hello' to Ian!"
The audience applauded when the third boy came on the set and wheeled a large suitcase to the last small and medium-sized suitcases. He has a black vertical stripe on his left ear and three small spots on his right ear, and wears a green polo shirt, a pair of khaki pants supported by a black belt with a silver buckle, and a pair of gray shoes.
"Hello, Carolina," said Ian. "My name is Ian, and I don't mind you dressing me up as whoever you like in bed. And if you choose me, I'll build a castle for you to decorate it however you want."
The audience applauded after Ian's introduction.
"I'd like that," Carolina said to Ian.
"Now, as you can see," said Cadpig, "these boys each got a small bag, a medium-sized bag, and a large bag. All those bags are filled with the boys' personal secrets, which we like to call baggage. And the bigger the bag, the bigger the baggage. This would help Carolina decide which boy he wants to go on a date with. And now, it's time for the boys to reveal their smallest pieces of baggage."
The audience cheered and applauded. The three boys are ready to open their small suitcases.
"Panda," said Cadpig, "open your small bag."
Panda opened his small suitcase to reveal this secret:
The audience let out soft groans when they saw that secret.
"'I will never get a car or a driver's license'," Cadpig read aloud.
"Never?" asked Carolina. "Not that I'm expecting a guy to drive me to places all the time, but I think it would be sweet for a guy to drive me to the movies or a restaurant on a date."
"Let's find out," said Cadpig, and she turned to Panda. "Panda, please, explain why you won't get a car or a driver's license."
"Driving is a very big responsibility that I just won't be able to handle," Panda explained. "Some people have told me that driving a car is as simple as riding a bicycle, but after seeing what drivers had to go through and hearing what problems they have, like monthly payments, insurance, repairs, or gas, it turns out that it's really not as simple as they say it is. Besides, I like to do what's good for the environment, and I like to save money, too."
Loud applause came from the audience after Panda explained his small baggage.
"Okay," said Carolina, nodding her head at Panda's explanation. "That's good enough."
"All right," said Cadpig, and she turned to Whirlwind. "Whirlwind?"
Whirlwind opened his small suitcase, which reveals this secret:
The groans from the audience became louder and sounded more disgusted when that secret was revealed.
"'I pee outside to conserve water'," Cadpig read aloud.
"That is just gross," said Carolina, shaking her head. "Peeing in the shower to conserve water is one thing, but peeing outside to conserve water?!"
"Now, Whirlwind," said Cadpig, "why do you conserve water by peeing outside?"
"The shower is not a good option if I want to conserve water," said Whirlwind, "because when you're in the shower, you're using water. I don't use water when I pee. I go to my backyard and use a tree."
The audience let out loud groans again.
"Well, we just found out that he is one wild dog," Cadpig said to Carolina, and the audience erupted with laughter.
"Um, did anyone catch you doing that?" Carolina asked Whirlwind.
"Oh, no, Carolina," said Whirlwind. "No one has ever caught me peeing outside. My backyard is completely blocked from view by a wooden fence that's ten feet tall, and it's a very strong fence, so it can't be knocked down. And there are no gaps between any of the boards or holes on them."
"Okay. Now, what about after you finished doing that? I mean, how do you wash your hands?"
"I always bring a pack of sanitizing wipes outside, and I keep a trash can in my backyard so I can throw the wipes away after I finish cleaning my hands."
The audience applauded after Whirlwind explained his small baggage, and it sounded a bit weaker than it did after the story behind Panda's small baggage was revealed.
"Okay, thank you, Whirlwind," said Cadpig, and she turned to Ian. "Ian, open your small bag."
Ian opened his small suitcase, revealing this secret:
A mix of groans and laughter came from the audience when that secret was shown, though the noise from the audience was not as loud as it was when Whirlwind has shown his small piece of baggage.
"'I carry a murse'," Cadpig read aloud.
"Hmm, not that I have a problem with a guy carrying a man purse," said Carolina, "but I feel that if he and I are going out on a date together, I should be the only one to carry any purse at all."
"Okay, Ian," said Cadpig, "what exactly do you carry in your murse?"
"I carry my school supplies, my homework assignments, my MP3 player, and my wallet in it," said Ian, and he picked up a black murse from behind his medium-sized suitcase. "Here it is."
The audience applauded loudly when Ian showed his murse to everyone in the studio.
"I don't carry a backpack in school, because backpacks are often thick and heavy," said Ian, now carrying his murse on his right shoulder. "That's why I always carry around a murse in school instead. Many of the other kids made fun of me for that, but who cares? With this murse, my things are a lot more organized than they were in a backpack."
The show's theme music starts playing again after Ian fully explained his small baggage.
"All right," said Cadpig. "Now, Carolina, you've seen these guys' baggage and heard their explanations. When we come back, it'll be time for our dealbreaker round, where we get to see the secrets inside the medium-sized bags. Don't go away."
The audience cheered and applauded, and the show goes into its first commercial break after the screen flashed back to its logo, with the woman's hands closing the suitcase.
