I’m a little disappointed that Vulpix won’t be in this movie.

Is there a Source that claims this, Belchic?

I saw a video on YouTube that lists all the Pokémon that are going to be featured in the movie. Vulpix was not one of them.

If that isn't the case I will take solace in knowing this won't likely be the only movie.
There's a big world of Pokémon to dive into, best not to try to blow your wad on just one movie.

That’s for sure. Seeing how much massive hype this movie is getting, I’m sure it’ll make a lot of money, and if it does, a sequel would be inevitable.

They already have a direct sequel in development for Detective Pikachu if the film is a hit and plans for a full "Pokemon Cinematic Universe" after that so if this is a moneymaker we're going to see a lot more of them. How you are supposed to do a cinematic universe when there are few iconic human characters though I don't know (rumor has it they want to somehow do a big screen version of "Pokemon Red and Blue").
I can see why Vulpix might be held off given Eevee, its evolution Flareon, and Growlithe did make the cut and it's probably best not to overstock the film with too many similar Pokemon (foxes, fire-powered canines, etc.). I think there will be some twists on the Pokemon they include though. We'll see.

I do wonder how they plan to adapt the Gen One Games, if they do so; especially, considering, a lot of the Gym Battles. Trying to do the Games with the Gyms works more as a Series, than it does a Film. Though, I guess, one can adapt the more Story focused Pokemon Games.
Though, shall it have the same Characters from the Detective Pikachu Film, or different Characters?

I'm kinda happy they chose not to adapt the oldest games or try to make it seem like its supposed to be a big screen adaptation of the original anime series. With this they are not depending the general public being well-versed in Pokémon lore and no one will be left in the dark.
Another I'm going to add is the Starter Pokémon will like get screentime, and one of the X/Y starters was Fennekin, so they likely will hold off on it til later.

I find it hilarious that possibly the first "good video game movie" could be both a Pokemon film (the original films got torched by critics) and one specific based directly on a spinoff I don't think many people played. And yet here we are. This could be the start of something big.

Only a week away now! Seeing a little ad where Pikachu and Psyduck bounce off each other led me to see a Purrloin, a Dark-type Pokémon which I really like (I love cats).
While we wait, how about some international trailers?
Spanish
French
Brazilian Portuguese
Italian
Thai
How are the Japanese reacting?
And here's a little voice comparison video:

How about an early review. Video game website IGN liked it, 8/10; lots of heart, a few twists, but the story is apparently kind of predictable.

Next weekend seems so far away. To quote the AVGN, "This is historical!"
I have this video right here where the Andre the Black Nerd interviews the cast:

I went and saw the movie this weekend and I will say it's a nice bit of fun. This is a good family popcorn flick, if you have kids there's nothing dirty or too violent and if you don't there's plenty for fans of the franchise or those looking for just sci-fi fun. The plot can be predictable in spots BUT bad guy's scheme goes off in a direction you wouldn't expect at the end.
Pikachu, Psyduck, and Mewtwo get the most screen time although man are there a lot of Growlithes in this movie. I guess it makes sense, they are a loyal dog and cops use them a lot so it's a natural fit they'd be a popular pet.
