I recently read on Facebook that we have Yuji Naka's thanks for convincing Paramount about Sonic's design.

I just heard this.
Because of some reworkings on Sonic's design that are underway (plus likely other issues), this movie is getting delayed.
It's no longer going to be a Thanksgiving 2019 film. It will now be a Valentine's 2020 film.

It actually does make me wonder, shall they actually check with the audience, before showing a definate design on Sonic, now!?
Considering Paramount did not listen to Sega’s Issues about Sonic’s design, early in production, and then the strong Back Lash about Sonic’s Design, you would think they would ask, before spending the extra months to do the Animation on him.
You think they may show the design, before future trailers are shown!?

Yeah, I remember seeing a video where someone did a more game-accurate version of Sonic and while he definitely stood out, I guess some suspension of disbelief is more likely to be given.
Anyway, I know that for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 it is known that Michael Jackson was supposed to do the songs for the game, but does anyone think "Gangsta's Paradise" fits Sonic?

Posting on this, I have noticed this week that we MIGHT have some leaks of the Film Sonic's Redesign! I must post, it is certainly an approvement, looks Closer to the Game Design and does not seem to fall as much in to the Uncanny Valley. I am now curious as to how it shall look in motion? What you think of the update to Sonic's Design, Pups!?

We will still need to suspend some disbelief for Sonic but yeah that does look a lot better.
I will probably still see it regardless of what people say, I'm listening to the Green Hill Zone music as I type this.

Well, if we are able to do so for Detective Pikachu, we can do so with Sonic, Eh!? We shall have to see how it looks in Motion...as well as what his teeth look like, too!
Though; When you think we shall get an updated Trailer, Pups!?

I still think the fans will have negative things to say about it. I’m still hoping there will be other Sonic characters in this movie too.

It's like Max Gilardi once said.
If you want to make an animated show/movie about something live-action that will translate seamlessly, but when it comes to making a live-action movie about a cartoon, some translation needs to occur. The characters can generally fall under a specific category:
The first one is an "Animal", examples being:
-101 Dalmatians -Bambi -Marmaduke -Lady and the Tramp -My Little Pony -Brother Bear -Finding Nemo -The Secret of NIMH -Jungledyret Hugo -The Lion King
These animated characters all read as animals and making a live-action film about them is feasible because that's something we have in the real world, just use a real-life animal as a template.
The second one is a "Human", examples being:
-Batman -Spider-Man -Barbie -G.I. Joe -He-Man and the Masters of the Universe -The Legend of Zelda -Kim Possible -Frozen -Beavis and Butthead -Bob's Burgers
These animated characters all read as human beings and making a live-action film about them is feasible because we can just cast human actors in those roles.
Even if you wanted to do something more out-of-whack like a live Transformers, ThunderCats, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Land Before Time, Star Fox or Pokemon? You'd have to use some imagination, but yeah that could work.
But then there is a third category where the characters just should be animated. They can be either human or animal but they don't fit as either because their anatomy is just too divergent. These characters are classified as "Toons". Examples being:
-Mickey Mouse and Friends -Looney Tunes -Peanuts -Garfield -The Simpsons -Super Mario Bros. -South Park -Family Guy -SpongeBob SquarePants -Madagascar
Sonic... kinda falls under the "Toons" category. He'd probably work better in a fully-animated world or a Who Framed Roger Rabbit type of movie.
On that one video from WatchMojo.com once made, it might work if they did a movie that took some cues from Sonic SatAM like how Pokémon: Detective Pikachu was based on a spin-off game rather than the main game series. Maybe like a world where we have people living harmoniously with these cartoony Sonic characters but Dr. Robotnik has other ideas. He would start kidnapping the animated Sonic characters to fuel his plans for world domination but once Sonic hears about this he sets out to stop him.
That's my thoughts.

You raise an intriguing point, there. Sonic’s Design is mostly based on Rubber Hose Animation Of The Twenties & Thirties, similar to Mickey Mouse.
I think Sonic’s initial Character Designer has said; “Like Mickey Mouse, Sonic does not need to be depicted as a realistic hedgehog in “Live Action” to be a believable character“.
Though, some the examples, you list in the Toons area, have had “Live Action” tellings, too.
We shall need to see how the redesign of Sonic moves, in Film though, Eh!?

Some of those you listed, Trey_Vore, have been done: 101 Dalmatians has been done, even though it was made more realistic than how it should have been. Bambi is rumored to happen. Marmaduke has been done, but most people like to pretend it doesn’t exist. Lady and the Tramp has been done. Brother Bear is rumored to happen. The Lion King has been done. The rest have not been done, but I wouldn’t mind seeing them get adapted into live action, especially MLP (as long as its based on G4). - Batman, Spider-Man, Barbie, G.I. Joe and Kim Possible have all been done. He-Man and Zelda I think were going to happen but got canceled. Frozen I’m sure will happen, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Bob’s Burgers or Beavis/Butthead happened too. - Mickey Mouse happened several times. Looney Tunes happened several times. There actually was a live action made-for-TV movie that featured the Peanuts called “The Big Stuffed Dog”. Garfield and Super Mario Bros. both happened, and we all know how disastrous those were! SpongeBob, I guess the two SpongeBob movies can count. The rest haven’t happened as far as I know. I’m sure it’s possible we will see Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park make the jump to live action, but I doubt Madagascar will.
