Lucy looked at the book, then at Clayton. "It has words that I don't understand." She replied to him. "Like what is this book with an eye followed by some milk and a picture of a cauldron?"

Melanie looked intrigued about Stirfry as it seemed interesting what she does. “ oh so are you handy dog, it’s a pretty interesting trait to have. I wish I could fix things.” She said.
Raine kept reading his book. “ oh there is more you guys. It says the test of this world to control your cravings if you are to win. You will be gifted with prizes if you win.”
Melanie looked at Patch and Priscilla “ Hey is that what you’re talking about? Because it’s kind of giving us a heads up. His maybe a magic book.”

"Oh thanks." Stirfry replied to Melanie. "I've been doing it my whole life, it's really the only thing I'm good at." She said.
Stirfy looked closely at the book that Lucy was holding and said "Oh, well... That's an eye, and eye, sounds like the word I in human language, then..." she paused for a second to look at the milk "Wait... No! That's a GLASS of milk! So... like eyeglasses. And then uh... that last thing is a cooking pot. So it might be saying to wear glasses when you cook." Stirfry sat for a moment staring at the book with an expression that suggested she wasn't quite satisfied with her answer and was trying to think of something better.

Clayton tries to carefully examine the book that Lucy & Stirfry were examining; “Okay, that is strange text…” he admits, but hears Stirfry’s suggestion; “Either that or they ask you wear eye protection, like you do?”.
Clayton pauses, and then perks his eyes with an idea; “I Know! Do any of these books have them actually saying any of the spells in here!?”

Genesis's eyes widened, hearing Clayton. It sounded farfetched, but anything is possible. They eyed over the book they shared with Clayton and said, "It sounds a bit farfetched, but I love the way you think." They skimmed through the words, trying to find text that read like a spell.
Shadow pulled out a book and examined the cover, depicting of the girl dressed in red with hands glowing. He plopped down and opened the book delving his snout in words.

Patch took the book he just picked up back to the box and placed it back in there.
“What do you mean?” he asked Melanie, and he went back to the book he picked out before to read more of it with Priscilla.
As Patch opened back up the book he was just reading, he got the feeling that any of these books, or even all of them, could be magic when he heard from some of the other pups that the book that Lucy was looking at had words on it that could possibly be a magic spell. So, with that, he flipped through the pages of the book The Blue Shield Of Virtue, skipping some parts of the story after the opening paragraph, trying to look for what would appear to be some magic words. He then stopped at pages sixteen and seventeen, chapter three, which read how the story’s main protagonist, Peter Aliss (pronounced “Alice”), a common cart driver at age sixteen, found the titular shield in his cottage where he lived with his widowed mother when he got out of bed one morning. When Patch looked at those pages, he read a few of the paragraphs on them aloud:
“Peter slowly and carefully stepped further into the sitting room, getting closer to the shield, and having his right arm stretched forward to touch it. The shield was large, circular, and blue with a silver frame and round shield boss. It looked a lot like the shields that the knights of Azurador used to protect themselves from attacks in battles and wars, but what made this shield different from the knights’ shields was that it was magic, and it revealed a bit of its magic the moment Peter touched its boss with the tips of his index finger and middle finger on his right hand.
The blue interior of the shield became cloudy, with a darker shade of blue swirling around in front of its normal shade, which was azure. Then, the interior glowed entirely in a brighter shade of blue. Peter watched all this in surprise, wondering if the shield magically appeared in his home overnight if it really was magic.
Moments later, the glow from the interior of the shield died down, returning it to its natural azure shade. Then, another magical thing happened. White letters appeared in the interior, circling around the boss of the shield. When Peter saw this, he took the shield in his hands and turned it around counterclockwise to read all the words on it:
“‘For the freedom of Azurador, I must face my fears, my foes, and more.’”

Turner's saliva puddles was reaching toward Lucy and the others, as he continued imagining all kinds of Stirfry, Stir Fry Noodles, Stir Fry Chicken, Stir Fry Veggies, Beef Stir Fry, it all sounded so good to him.
Lucy was just as confused as Stirfry, as she's never seen symbols like this before. She can see that Stirfry was guessing at the symbols, but she had to admit this was her first time, she never learned anything about this stuff from her sister or Torrance when they were together. He was going to teach her, but someone called him to go on the mission alone. Then heard what both Clayton and Stirfry were suggesting. "True, it has to be either one of the two."
Turner stopped drooling, but overheard what Lucy, Stirfry and Clayton was talking about. "Ice Cream Soup." He spoke.

Melanie looked at Patch and Priscilla “ Raine’s book was telling us about something we should prepare for. Could that be a sign it could be a magic book? Where as mine just tells me the premise of a story.”
She said to Stirfry “ well you deserve it. Can you make things from scraps?”

Stirfry's attention was fixed on the dogs actually trying to find magic words in the book that could make weird unpredictable things happen. She stared at them for a while silently with a confused expression on her face. She didn't even notice the question that Melanie asked her. "Um... um... So why uh... ar-are we TRYING to make magic happen?" she said with a hint of nervousness in her voice that apparently brought out her inner Jeff Goldblum.

Clayton began noticing Stirfry’s anxiety. While he himself was good with magic, he knew Stirfry did often get nervous about this type of thing. “She may have a point…” Clayton states; “Maybe, we should try this in a more controlled enviro-“.
Clayton’s paw stepped in Turner’s drool, distracting him, as Shadow began reading some text aloud, that sounded like a spell.
“What The!?” Clayton gagged slightly, at his paw being in the drool.

Genesis narrowed their eyes, furrowing their brows at Turner. "Hey, Turner, we know how much you love stir fry, but can you ease up with the drool?" Like Clayton, Genesis also got a paw full of canine slobber, dripping from their paws. "Ewwww." They flapped their paw in the other direction away from the others.
Shadow cleared his throat as he chose to read the text aloud, trying his best to pronounce the text correctly. "Ultra velum et arenam temporis, audi vocem meam, et congruat." He shook his head before reading silently. "What does this mean?"
Genesis blinked to Shadow. "I didn't know you can speak Latin, Shadow!" They said.

Before Patch could respond to Melanie, he and Priscilla saw what was going on with Turner, and they both quickly moved far away from all this, with Patch closing his book while doing so.
“Um, Turner…” said Patch, disgusted as he and Priscilla stepped right outside the barn, “…what’s on your mind, exactly?”
“Excuse me…” said Priscilla, also disgusted. “…um, I must go to the house and find some paper towels. Who wants to come with me?”
Without waiting for anyone to respond, Priscilla turned around and headed off to the farmhouse.
“I do,” Patch said quickly as he followed Priscilla to the farmhouse, carrying his book with him on the way there.

"How do you know...?" Lucy started to speak to Turner, when she noticed her paws getting wet from the Saliva. She jumped back to the dry side next to Clayton. "Why are you drooling? We already had lunch!"
"I'll go with you two." Lucy said to Patch and Priscilla as she followed them to the farmhouse.
Turner saw the drool had run over to the paws of the Dalmatians as he rubbed the back of his head with his paw. "Sorry, must've been thinking about food again." He said to the pups.

Stirfry shook nervously as Shadow said the magic words. Just hearing the strange language made her feel uncomfortable and her discomfort grew as he went on until she was practically stiff as a statue clinging to Tom, waiting to see what happens.
