Sorry for not getting back to you sooner -- the trip kept me busy (we got back Wednesday evening) and I haven't been feeling well in the time between then and now -- but I do have plenty of pictures that I wanted to share with you guys!
As I had stated, our band was staying in the 101 Dalmatians area of the All Star Movies resort. And, as I had mentioned in my last post as well,
this cute picture was the first thing I was greeted by when I arrived at my room! There was a border going around the tops of the walls in the room as well that had a different character from each section in it, and that featured a Dalmatian on it. The bathrooms also had a black-and-white tiled floor and the shower curtain was spotted, which I don't think was exclusive to just that area but was a really nice touch, anyhow. :3
The picture on the wall wasn't the only one to be featured in the rooms -- some of the other rooms that had their beds and such on the opposite side of the room had a different, portrait-style picture of a couple of the Dalmatians in their live action-counterpart designs, which I was surprised about! Dipstick was at the forefront, with Fidget jumping behind him, a small headshot of Lucky (with the eye-horseshoe and X-shaped face spot), and a headshot of Pongo and Perdita together. I unfortunately couldn't get a picture of it, and can't seem to find one on Google, but it genuinely surprised me to see those designs in use!
Anyhow, I was able to get most of the shots of the more iconic features of the resort's area, as well as a few other things, on my walks to breakfast in the morning.
Here's
Perdita, straight across the courtyard and from where the elevators & inner stairwell were to get up to my section of rooms.
And here's
Pongo, happily keeping watch!
Here's
Lucky, watching the TV! Not the best picture, I'll admit, but I was in a rush to get it -- and yes, he even has the horseshoe spots on his back! I checked. ;3
I think they host storytime or something to that extent in this area, as we were coming back to our rooms one night (quite late, I may add) and happened to come across a group of children and one of the hotel's cast members at this area. The cast member was talking to them from behind the TV and the children were crowded around it.
This was one of the many outer decks you typically see associated with the resort, with the puppies running across the railing and the dognapper truck up top. Unfortunately, I didn't have this on my hall's walkway, as my room was closer to the back of the resort rather than the front -- but I know some of the boys and other girls in our group that had rooms near us had it on their hall.
Here is
one of the back stairwells, shaped like a fire hydrant! I only used it on one of the nights -- every other time I would use the inner stairwell or elevator.
Here is
one of the many, many bones that lined the paved walkway down the courtyard! There were red and blue bones in a traditional shape like this, and also white ones with a "knotted" end. If you look very closely, you can see that it says Kanine Krunchies on it. The blue ones had that engraved in them as well!
And finally, here is
a very cute penny design that was in the souvenir coin machine in the hotel's food court! I think that's Dipstick, Jewel, and either Wizzer or Lucky together. Yes, I did end up getting it. :3
Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot in the way of 101 Dalmatians merchandise that I could find in the parks, aside from a couple of standard pins of Pongo and Perdita. I did, however, find
this specialty pin of Cruella, Horace, and Jaspar parodying the quicksand painting from the Haunted Mansion, which I found to be pretty funny. That picture was taken in the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop in Magic Kingdom, but they were selling it at my hotel's gift shop as well.
Magic Kingdom was our parade day, which meant I got to spend a little bit of it backstage! I won't reveal too much of what I saw back there (it was cool but not super interesting, trust me), but we were, in fact, allowed to take pictures in our designated Disney Performing Arts area! They had all kinds of cool posters lining the walls of the barriers they had set up, and
this cute poster featuring Rolly happened to catch my eye and made me think of you guys.
Between Magic Kingdom day (Sunday) and the last two days in the parks, I didn't take a lot of 101D-related pictures because, well, there weren't a lot of things to take pictures
of. Throughout our vacation, however, the grandmother of one of my roommates had been leaving us presents each time we got back to our hotel. The first park night (Saturday) we got princess pins, the second night (Sunday) we got little tubes of lip gloss -- and the last night we were there (Tuesday), she left the four of us each a little beanie-sized plushie and a box of donuts. She happened to guess REALLY well about what we liked (we didn't even know how she got our room number because her granddaughter never gave it to her), because
she gave me a plush of Little Dipper!! I was ecstatic.
My sister and friends also got their favorites too (the granddaughter got a mouse from Cinderella, our other friend got Ursula, and my sister got Oliver from Oliver & Company which was also super cool because he's so obscure).
And, of course,
I just had to take a selfie with him in the airport. xD
That's all I have to share, but I hope you guys enjoy the pictures that I took! It's only been a few days but I miss it
so much.
