Think I'll throw my two cents in here ^^
People seem to split Lucky's personality in two a lot of times imo. Either he's glorified for his good points or demonized for the faults. I personally like both sides xD Or well they make him more interesting anyway. Yeah he tries to do the right thing, he's good at thinking on his feet, he's brave, and kind at some points. Not to mention his physical design is appealing ^^
But he can also be selfish, and kind of a jerk, and a little egotistical.. like when he thought it was just a big joke when Roger chose Tripod for the digging contest instead of him. But if it wasn't for those faults in Lucky's character a lot of situations in the episodes wouldn't happen xP

I agree with your points on Lucky's Personality there.
He has those good traits, like his leadership skills, bravery, loyalty and planning, but he is pretty conceited and can be full of himself. Which also leads to some good character chemistry, with Cadpig often dragging him back from his high opinion of himself.
But that is good; If a character didn't have any real flaws, than they would be a boring character; and if they didn't have good traits, it makes it harder to try and make the audience like them.
It's a factor of trying to keep a balance of the two, isn't it?

Right Bab. Flaws are what makes a character interesting. At least to me anyway. xp

true, best example of this was in the episode Citizen Canine where Lucky lied his way to power when he was losing the election to Mayor Pig.

I got a book of; "101 Dalmatians" today called; "Rolly's Special Spots", where it seems that Lucky has another special spot outside of his Horse Shoe.
Apparently, according to the book, there is a spot in the shape of a flower underneath Lucky's ear. Although, Rolly tries sniffing it and claims it still smells like Lucky.
Although, does that mean more Pups have special spots hidden underneath their ears or other places on their body? What you Pups think?

sure it wasn't a four-leaf clover? Would be a nice hint at the luck theme Lucky has going

The Dalmatians themselves say it's more like a flower.
Besides, Lucky has had bad experiences with Four Leaf Clovers, hasn't he? ^^"

Special Spots? Where have I heard that phrase before? It sounds so familiar. Erm...when did Lucky ever have a bad experience with a four-leaf clover, babclayman?

Well, Their Special Spots are what the Pups call the spots that look like something. Like how Lucky's Special Spot may be his Horse Shoe, or Patch's being his Patch.
Other examples inclued Clayton's Blob Spots, Shadow's Star Spots, and Nuke's Ear Spots.
And the Four Leaf Clover incident is in the episode; "UnLucky", where Lucky dug up Nanny's garden to find one, and got in trouble for it. Remember that scene, Belchic? ;3

Ah yes. That's not what got him in trouble though. He saw it and ran for it, but Nanny caught him before he got a hold of it.

Although, Lucky's luck is more of a Placebo effect in that episode. As Spot points out, Lucky makes his luck himself, doesn't he?

Still, I argue that he was a jinx without his horseshoe spots. Even though most of his screwups were caused by a lack of confidence, what about when Nanny yelled at him and when he got beat up by the giant rabbit? You can't tell me confidence played any part in that.

The episode does make a point that most times that something bad happens to Lucky in the episode, it is mainly his fault. He stumbles in his race against Tri-Pod because, since he was more distracted by his Spots, he wasn’t paying attention to the track in front of him. So, that was his fault there. With the Rabbit’s Foot, Swamp Rat’s a Con-Artist type; he never said that the Rabbit Foot WASN’T attached to a rabbit. Can you tell me how Luck plays any part in that?
Also, Nanny yelling at him was because he had dug up her garden! How does someone rightfully being upset at you for doing that sort of thing count as Bad Luck?
As Spot points out, Lucky makes his own luck. But as soon as he got more secure, you see how truly competent he is.
Does that make the Lucky making his luck case more understandable to you?
