As we know, Pongo is the father and Perdita is the mother of the Dearly puppies. I've drawn out that there are an overall total of 12 out of the 15 puppies that have been named. In Dodie Smith's original book, it is stated that 8 of them are male, 7 are female. They are as follows: Cadpig (Female) Dipstick (Male) Fidget (Male) Freckles ( ) Jewel (Female) Lucky (Male) Patch (Male) Penny (Female) Pepper ( ) Rolly (Male) Two-Tone (Female) Wizzer (Male) Overall they have characterized at least 6 boys and 4 girls. Rover, Spotty, Duke and Tripod I am sure are among the other 84 that Roger and Anita wound up adopting after being saved from Cruella DeVil. Does anyone know the genders of Freckles and Pepper?

Freckles is female, so is Pepper
That is a good question, although she is in 101 2 Patch's London Adventure.

Freckles got a male voice in the original 1961 movie. If thats a mistake i dont know ? However: they did screw up Lucky´s ears in 101-2. So why not the gender of a Pup? ^_^

In the first part of Dalmatian Vacation, Roger initially decided that only Pongo and Perdita’s original fifteen Dalmatians could tag along with them on their vacation. Lucky, Rolly and Cadpig were already in the back of the car when that took place, though the scene then changed to twelve other Dalmatians whom the series implied were part of the original fifteen Dalmatians. I could be mistaken, though this is the only time in the series that I’ve seen where the original Dalmatians were bunched up in that group together. I apologize should this be old news, though I just wanted to share my discovery with the rest of the community.

they should have made those background pups unique Yeah, they should have, but I guess they didn't want to do too much research on who the original fifteen were. They stuck the familiar faces up front in that picture, though the ones in the back, as you've said, are relatively generic.
