Ok, before you read, I just wanna clear a couple things up.
I didn't explain Holly's appearance because it's way too complicated, if you are not familiar with her, ask Oddy. It's his character, and he has 2 or 3 pics of her. Another thing about Holly, she is not using her PDA at the point she is mentioned because she received it after all this happened in the original canon, and I would like to stay somewhat true to that.
Volkner's Saga Part IX
Volkner and Amaranth stayed on the farm for quite some time, making numerous friends while they were there. The most notable of those they met are Oddy, a spotless Dalmatian, Holly, a Dalmatian who was born deaf, and Nuke, another Dalmatian with spots forming nuclear emblems on his ears. Nuke was really more of an annoyance if anything, especially to Amaranth, whom he constantly pestered. Because Holly was deaf, communicating with her was a bit hard, and so Volkner taught her to read lip movements in his spare time, and in time, she became quite efficient at it.
One day, as Volkner was lying around outside the old, red barn, Oddy nearby, a shadowy figure was seen running towards them in the distance, kicking up dirt as he ran. As he neared, it was obvious that it was Shadow.
“Volkner!” Shadow exclaimed as he approached.
“Oddy, this is shadow…I told you about him, right? Shadow, this is Oddy.” Volkner said.
“There’s no time for introductions now! Those two…um……I don’t know what to call them, but they work for Sigurd! They struck again, but we fought them off. We saw where they ran to, Sigurd may be there!”
“Oddy, tell Amaranth everything you just heard. I’ll be back.” Volkner said as he started to follow Shadow. As they ran through the nearby woods on their way, Shadow continued explaining things before three wolves blocked their path. One had a mostly black coat with dark gray paws and chest fur. One also had mostly black coat, but his paws and chest were a much lighter shade of gray. The Third had an all black coat, and was smaller than the other two.
“We’ve been following you…you mentioned Sigurd?” the one with the darker gray paws asked.
“What’s it to ya?” Volkner said crouching, ready to fight if necessary.
“My name is Dirge…this is my brother, Requiem.” The one with the dark paws explained, looking at his brother with the lighter paws. “The little one is our nephew, Nocturne… I think he’s around the same age as you two.”
Volkner stopped acting threatened, feeling he could trust the wolves. “What does the name Sigurd mean to you?” He asked.
“Sigurd killed my sister….Nocturne’s mother, Mathilda.”
“I’ve heard some rumors that it’s not actually Sigurd himself, his corpse is being reanimated by someone else…I don’t know if I believe it though.” Volkner said as he continued on.
“We’re on our way to Sigurd right now. Join us if you want… we can’t have too many allies.” Volkner said running ahead, Shadow following, and the three wolves as well.
After they went through the woods, they started up the trail up the mountain side that Volkner and Amaranth had taken a few weeks earlier. Before they’d gotten far, they were ambushed by Carnage as Cyra, just as Volkner and amaranth were the first time up.
“Carnage…I don’t know if we can take all of them!” Cyra whispered.
“…..whatever…..” Carnage replied.
“And stick to the plan, we don’t kill them these time, we chase them towards Sigurd!” Cyra whispered again.
“Whatever happens happens…I’ll try, but if I have to kill them, I won’t hesitate for a second…” Carnage replied.
“So, you didn’t learn a lesson the first time, eh?” Volkner said.
Carnage didn’t reply, but jumped over the group of canines, trapping them between himself and Cyra.
“Dirge charged Cyra, and shifted his weight into his shoulder, hurling himself towards her. Cyra fell onto the ground as the others ran ahead, Dirge following and Carnage and Cyra giving Chase behind them. As they neared the top where the old abandoned church was, Sigurd sat atop on the roof. Pouncing down, he jumped over Volkner and the others, facing Cyra and Carnage.
“You little ingrates!” Sigurd blared.
“Hey, watch it!” Carnage said trying to go at Sigurd, Cyra holding him back.
“Just…NEVERMIND! I’ll handle things from here, leave me, now!” Sigurd exclaimed, Cyra and Carnage walking away.
“I don’t have a clue what your up to, but…” Volkner said as Sigurd, in a puff of smoke, changed appearance. He looked exactly like Volkner – it wasn’t Sigurd at all, but a doppelganger.
“Well, it would appear you owe me, hmm?” the doppelganger said, his voice mimicking Volkner’s. He then turned into Dirge, and looked over his shoulder at the group of dog’s behind him.
“Don’t sweat it, really.” He said, transforming into the appearance of Shadow, then Requiem, followed by Nocturne and finally, Astrid.
“Is this another one of your little magic acts, Astrid?” Volkner asked.
Astrid, however came from out of the church sitting next to the dog that looked exactly like him.
“Whatever do you mean?” the real Astrid replied.
The doppelganger took on the appearance of Carnage, and approached Volkner. “I can mimic anyone…even their voice….my name is Eisenheim.”
“Heh…nice name.” Volkner chuckled.
“Look who’s talking, Volkner…” Eisenheim responded, Volkner looking disgruntled.
“Eisenheim is an old friend of mine… now, if your ready, I’ll lead you to where we believe Sigurd is at the moment.” Astrid said.
“Yeah, but before we go….what does he really look like?” Volkner asked.
“I don’t know, to be honest…I forgot what my true appearance is, I don’t even know my breed…” Eisenheim said, rapidly changing appearance into several different canine species.
“If I may ask, who are YOUR friends?” Astrid inquired.
“This is Dirge, Requiem, and Nocturne…. They have a bone to pick with Sigurd…”
“I see….well, shall we be on our way then?” Astrid said taking the path behind the church, heading for the old shack and the pool of water.
