A Night In Hell Hall Part II
The three pups wandered the halls of the old building slowly, finding nothing that would cause rumors of a haunting. Coming across a large door with two boards forming an “X” holding it shut, Oddy and Volkner stopped, Lucky continuing ahead, paying the door no mind.
“You thinkin’…what I’m thinkin’?” Volkner asked with a grin. He summoned his sword, and slashed the boards in half. The door creaked as he pushed it open, and inside there was a stairwell. He and Oddy started down the stairs, while Lucky continued down the hall alone, unaware of the detour.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Volkner and Oddy surveyed a dark basement, lots of old broken and dusty furniture and other items in stacks on top of each other. The stone floor was cold beneath their paws as they approached to old wooden boxes, that were nailed shut. The boxes resembled coffins from long ago, before they were as intricate as they are now.
“Wanna open them?” Oddy asked.
“What harm could it do?” Volkner said summoning the Sword of Chronos once again to pry open the old caskets. He opened one, and opened it to reveal a grey furred German shepherd with brown paws, his eyes shut tight.
“Whoah! Oddy, check this out!” Volkner said, Oddy coming closer to get a look.
“Hmm?” the German shepherd said with a yawn as he climbed out and stretched.
“Who are you?!” Volkner asked in a defensive stance.
“I should be asking you the same question. I’m assuming it was you that opened my coffin?” The strange dog asked.
“Yeah, it was….wait…COFFIN?! You’re a…” Volkner replied.
“Vampire.” Oddy said finishing Volk’s sentence.
“Yes, but I’ll do you no harm. My name is Virgil. Would you mind opening that other one over there?” the Shepherd answered.
“Oddy?” Volkner asked.
“I think we can trust him.” Oddy replied.
“And what would your name be?” asked Virgil.
“Volkner.” Volk replied as he opened the second coffin. “Vampires huh?” Volkner said as he peered into the coffin.
“Meet Cassandra.” Virgil said with a chuckle.
A female Dalmatian with a spot on her back resembling a bat climbed out of the old coffin. Her right ear was black, and she had a spot resembling a broken heart on it. All of her paws were black as well.
“Ok….see that?” Oddy said pointing at Cassandra, “THAT is the definition of hot.”
“Agreed.” Volkner replied, Cassandra blushing a bit.
“Well, thank you for letting us out, but…why?” Virgil asked.
“Curiosity got the best of us.” Oddy said.
“So…are these guys what caused the supposed haunting?” Volkner asked.
“We’ve been nailed shut for too long….you don’t think it’s….” Cassandra said looking at Virgil.
“I fear so.” Virgil replied
Meanwhile, Lucky, now aware that he was alone, trembled as he traversed the many halls and corridors of the old manor. He was lost. It was dark. He was alone. And most of all, he was scared.
