While I'm waiting for a thread in G/D to crop up that I feel a can participate in, I thought it 'd be nice to see what folk here think of horror films. I think that they have to be done right. If they're not done well, I get bored, it takes more than just gore to keep me interested. Perfect example of a well-made horror film is The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (the original 1974 one). There wasn't much gore in that, just a very, very strong sense of dread. You can see some a short clip here to see what I mean: www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3uJmRR6Dk8 (There isn't any real gore, but if you're easily startled, I wouldn't recommend watching the clip) I do enjoy some badly done horror films too - just take the Friday the 13th series. Awful films, but what makes me watch them is Jason. A totally insane character. I think I even prefer him to Leatherface. Just not for those with a weak stomach. Anyway, don't hesitate to give your opinion, be it negative or positive.

I'm a fan of horror movies, though more in the supernatural sense. But there was one I saw recently, that was quite good. In a way. Teeth. Now, I can't determine whether it's so bad that it's good, or if it's just plain good. Of course, I'm speaking from a female's point of view. I thought the movie was not only hilarious, but pretty dramatic. Not TOO much gore, but if you're a guy, the gore that's in the movie will probably make you wince. And celibate. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yH8yuld4DUETrailer. Uhm, it talks of pretty graphic stuff, but it doesn't SHOW anything. You people decide whether or not you're adult enough to watch a 2 minute trailer.

I would have thought that it was aome kind of a spoof with such a story!
