To all you music experts out there, this is something I'd like a little help on. Of course, a majority of the people on this board probably know very little about music, but I'd like to know of some famous singers who have launched their music careers on certain years. Like for instance, Pat Benetar launched her career in 1979, or Tom Petty launched his career in 1976. When I say launched their career, I mean their first album was released on that year. I'm looking for solo artists, not bands. And I'm looking for at least one person from 1967 to this year.

ZZ Top had two big hits in the 70's: "La Grange" and "Tush". They had a couple minor hits as well like "Francine", "Just Got Paid" and "Heard It On the X". Their comeback started in 1979 with the big hits, "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide" and "Cheap Sunglasses", and 1983's "Eliminator" was their big album. 1985's "Afterburner" was a pretty good album too, but ever since then, everybody had pretty much zero interest in the band.

They've done some stuff of note since then, they had a decent hit in 1990 with "Doubleback" but that only notable because it was on the soundtrack of "Back to the Future Part III"
Wierd Al's career launch was probably 1981, the year he made his first appearence on TV, singing "Another one rides the bus" on the Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder, and had his first music video air on MTV "Ricky"
Peter Frampton's launch year was whatever year "Frampton Comes Alive" was releashed, before that album he was about half a million bucks in the hole fiancially before it hit huge and made him a millionaire several times over.
Kyle Petty never had a career launch year, his country music career never really took off and he had to stick to driving race cars, giving up singing in 1990.
